there is a week day game but i dont know what day.

our games up here have been jam up. w,t,f,s,s. sunday in w.f.
w,f, is omaha and many days almost all the pots hit the limit.
I've heard that game at Stockmen's can get pretty wild.

thats what you want in a poker game. more ups and down but the ups are much bigger.

I'll stop in and ask them what weekday night they have the game.

I'm pretty sure this is what you want in everything in life. Be prepared to take full advantage of the ups, and be prepared to recognize and control the downs.

I see a lot of players aim for the middle thinking they can eliminate variance, but they only eliminate their profits.

Of course, that's just me.

Taoism.

your so right about that mack. you see it in poker games all the time when a guy gets ahead. and most times its because he is playing well or they are playing badly and he leaves laughing winner. but when stuck and playing bad in a bad game he is there to the end.

what in heck does taoism have to do with any of this.

looks about the summer weather showed up. a little late but okay.
poker this week was a little slow. the boys were elsewhere and the rocks stood still.

i managed to squeak through the week but no result worth jumping up for thats for sure.
fishing and golf along with the honey do's hold the game down for awhile.

found a wild turkey nest today. has 5 eggs in it. but she aint around but its hot so it might be okay or perhaps abandoned. ill keep an eye out. its fun when the little turkeys are running around the yard with the mom.

had some hot weather and poker slowed way down. we did have a couple really good games with many pots hitting the max. more and more players are showing top hands and thats not good for making money.

tonight watching for animals off my lookout on the river. saw just one beaver, 20 or so ducks and one batch with babies in the river. a blue heron, bald eagle, and finally the first fawn this year.

the deer seem to be very late dropping their fawns. but i got to watch the baby jump around and run and do goofy things.

Saw a fawn myself a week ago, only a few days old, sticking to mom like glue.

i have many many bird houses i made out in the fields and woods. i get mostly swallows in the fields and chickadees, nut hatches and wrens elsewhere. took a bunch of years and finally last few i have been getting blue birds to nest. today a family sat on the fence in the back yard and i watched the babies get fed.

unusual day playing cards. played all day and never got to bet or call a big bet. largest bet was 100 bucks and then i had to fold. fairly tight game but still plenty of action.

Hey, Ray! How did things work out for the turkey eggs? Hopefully the little guys are making their way...

so far no hatch. so i guess she isnt coming back. the eggs are still there and the ravens havent found them but no sign of the mother turkey. and when i have found complete nests before usually the turkey was on it hunkered down.

but today i had a fresh fawn on my driveway when i came back from breakfast. it and its mom walked down the driveway about a 100 yards before they found a dense part of the woods to duck into.
and on my pond i had another batch of baby wood ducks. three of them.

i have at least 50 turkeys that live on my place so i get plenty of little ones running around, but when small mostly they hide in the high grass in the fields. other wise the hawks, eagles, and coyotes and ravens will pick them off. and they do and get many of them.
06-24-2019 , 03:34 PM
finally got a deer with its fawn in my front yard. it dropped it today. it could barely stand up. she was still licking it off a little.

i planted lots of clover in my fruit tree orchard by the house just for the deer. they love it there. saves them just before winter and gives them that big pickup they need in the spring before other things turn green.
