With as much snow as we had down here this year I am surprised that we haven't had flooding issues. But, so far so good.

missoula is getting hit real badly. but luckliy we had a couple cold nights so the river went down at my house. my ponds that are affected by the river level are very high and the ducks love that.

alot of central montana is getting high water. your area if near some rivers might be next.

lots of people look at the blinds or ante's in a game to determine how big it is. but in reality it is how much generally the opening bets are and how loose the game is that determines how big the game will play. and what kind of bankroll you need for it.

poker is still weak as far as the big game in montana. most of the money seems to have dried up and the players arent coming in. so be it. but my asparagus is shooting up every day so thats part of my dinner.

tough game today not many big pots. still made a few bucks but not going anywhere with it. i didnt make any real hands but stayed alive winning a bunch without showing down. thats the key you know.

something to remember is that as the rake gets higher or taken earlier you must play tighter. also play much tighter in hands that will be heads up as the rake is horrific heads up.
and play many less hands where you will have smaller pots likely.

Can you pack heat at the table in Montana? "that's the key you know", as you said.

games are in bars. no guns in bars. luckily rarely ever a fight. Montanans are more civilized than the rest of the country. mostly because they know they never know what can happen next if you get in someones face.

Testosterone and alcohol is a fun mix. Drop in a Sig Sauer for added hilarity.

This is something I see a lot of people doing wrong. When games get short handed and the pots start getting real small, they start playing everything and end up getting raked to death.
05-27-2018 , 01:36 AM
yea and in high raked games you just got to quit when it gets short unless someone is giving away more than the rake in value every single pot.

even playing tight may not be good as the blinds eat you up and when you do play a hand you can be paying like 20% of what you win in rake. so that equates out to giving the house every 5th hand you play. plus paying blinds to have that opportunity.

that is why in places like california players start quitting right as soon as the action player quits in many games, and jumping tables.

havent had a harley in years so i went out and got one today. heritage softtail classic . nice cruiser for sure. ive always had a motorcyle or two. got three now. two small ones and the big one.

Cool Ray. Always wanted to put that sentence down and seems appropriate right here. Is it dark (black) or some other color. Lockable saddle bags? About 20k? Addons would jack it up a bit. Take it for a cruise along on the Oregon Coast - you would have lots of company. The tourist and motorcyclists are showing up in droves.

Enjoy!

I don't think that Mid Life crisis is the correct term, but I'm not sure what is. Harley's very popular for guys my age.

looks like our omaha game is starting to pick up a little bit. but it brakes at dinner time.
plenty long enough for me anyway to play that stupid game.
at least they play loose enough you dont have to make the nuts to win a pot.

the rivers are dropping and the summer sun and warmth is here and all those ninny's that were worried have gone back in their cubby holes.
summer is here but not real hot yet. so in other words nice.
enjoy the summer. count how many you have left where you can still do things, and you will get scared.

i didnt want to pay the bubble. and of course the short stacks get mad at you.
so what did i do. i went out on the bubble. im sure they all were thinking i told you so. and very happy to boot.
i like having the bubble as most play badly trying to get into last pay position and give up most of their chances to win the whole thing.
06-17-2018 , 02:41 PM
Bubble Stash is a very good Beer (IPA). So there is always that, also.

played well and 3 wayed so we could all go home early. plus know all the guys so do whats customary is best. got there with no good hands so to speak. some days its like that.

got knocked out of a decent one in okay position.
it got raised by an aggressive better and i reraised with kings.
fold was 8,5,3. he checked. i was sure he had an ace or small ish pair.
i had half my stack in and would usually move in but i was sure if i checked it back he would push on the turn and i needed the extra chips with the blinds going up fast. which he did and had picked up a flush draw and hit it. so out i went.

giant heat wave and many fires already and summer is just starting. a little scary what the future is bringing. good news for me i am in a cool spot right at the moment. i dont like very hot very well so avoid the warm spots. the mountains and the coasts are fine.
07-10-2018 , 12:47 AM
got to two last tables but no cashy. with these fast blind tournament s you cant get by without winning races for all your cash a few times in them.
so all the hard work goes down the drain on the results of the flop.
07-11-2018 , 01:03 AM
was at the beach for the 4th. lined with fires and people setting off all sorts of fireworks. many put on 5000 dollar plus shows. it started long before dark and went for hours.
most all illegal stuff and some real shockers that would put someone in jail for possession.

have to leave before it ends as the air becomes totally grey with smelly nitrates in the thick smoke.

two nest of hummingbirds hatched out and are flying around. they bombard my feeder at daylight till dark. i have three feeders and they go through all the water in two days.

its almost like a swarm of bumblebees around me when i step outside near the feeders.
it fun to have them and go through all the sugar water by the bag full.
