Re: from ray to zee

did it again out real close but this time in a bigger prize fund with rebuys, so that was the time to not lose the two allins i played. first was queens against jacks and lost to trips. the other was a so called coin flip.
just getting in with the best chances ends up yielding the results long term.

Re: from ray to zee

well its springtime and the flowers are blooming in some places and the weather is starting to get better. except for the occasional spring storms which can wreck havoc depending on where you live.

but its the time to get outside and even if you just go for a walk every day do it. it makes you feel good and is healthy. poker players spend too much time on their butts anyway. i know i do.

Daffodils are blooming at my place Ray. I could take a picture and post it but I'm too lazy. Also many trees are starting to bud out. Spring is in the air.

Re: from ray to zee

people that are fun to play with and nice at the table i find get looser calls from those they want those calls from. it is simple really if you are a recreational player you want to play in the pots with those that you enjoy the most.
some will never get that and play with an ego and bad disposition to match.

Re: from ray to zee

that strategy just worked real well until the last hand when it didnt and i went home.
i hate the luck factor in poker.

although that is what keeps the action players coming back.

i like fixing things and one of the must haves is epoxy. if done right it is as strong and hard as the original part for the majority of projects.

i find the 5 minute stuff is just as good as the long cure and you can get it set will quick and dont have to clamp it over night then.

Re: from ray to zee

not a bad day in montana but certainly not springtime here.

the omaha poker game was weak but with two action players for a couple hours. otherwise not worth playing at all.

I'm Brian no matter what part of the world

Things are good. It will be too hot in Vegas soon, but not owning an umbrella or snow shovel is a decent trade-off.

Heh, working a gig in Minneapolis this weekend and they are expecting 6 inches of snow in the next 24 hours. Hopefully I'll be able to fly back home to Vegas Sunday.

I remember Squatty pretty well. Do you have an opinion as to whether his death was a suicide?

Re: from ray to zee

I found this out about JJ Jr. -

In 1980, Jenkins was elected president of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America.

Now that is a grand accomplishment. Thanks for the information, Ray. He appears to have lead an interesting life. And anyone that loves old books is Ok by me. I have no comment on his demise.

Somehow it doesn't surprise me Phat Mack knew Squatty also. But again, I have no comment on that other than acknowledging the fact.

Re: from ray to zee

he also went undercover for the fbi and hustled the thieves of some precious audubon plates to trap themselves and get caught.

his possible involvements with the forgeries came around when he was financially getting ruined. but that does not excuse it.

I was at Big Sky on July 6th one year and it snowed six inches. Gone pretty fast though.

Well, JJ Jr lived and died like a true Texan. Thanks for the links. I've been to Beaumont, Texas. Smells like portions of Houston.

Re: from ray to zee

the big poker game has about dried up here in kalispell montana. my take was too much omaha and perhaps too big for some to play. and the rake got bigger and bigger and many of the regs. couldnt survive anymore to come and start games. or come in later and keep them going.

Re: from ray to zee

this year we had 170 percent of the normal snowpack. so what becomes of that .. flooding the first warm days of late spring. missoula has 1000 or more homes getting water in them already with many of them evacuations. that the clark fork river and the bitterroot river.

where i am the flathead river is at the banks but not over them yet. but likely will if we get a few overly warm days in a row.
