A friend told me the 1/2 NL is going 7 days a week at the Cats Paw in Bozeman. The game starts at 6 PM, you get 110 for 100 and a $10 meal comp. The Cats Paw is a big bar, 20 machine casino, burger joint, poker, pool tables, big screen TV's, on North 7th.

the cats paw has been the place or one of them for as long as i remember in bozeman.
havent been there for years but they do give you some good benefits there. it would be one of the stops on the way through the state for sure .

poker has been a little slow with the 2 feet we have on the ground and the cold temps.
not many in their right mind want to go out in that .
but it is starting to warm up so the games will get better and the holiday period is over.
thats a good time to play cards.

our game seemed to pick up a little lately. maybe because ive been doing well. haha.
but with the snow and bad weather more people come in and perhaps stay a little longer.
although we have basically the same crew of players all the time.
it is higher stakes than the casual player can afford so not so many dropins and its not holdem so that puts off many players from dropping in.

my snow plow broke but the dealer is swamped of course because its winter and lots of snow. he couldnt really help me out. i understand.

so i fixed it myself. took a while but no sweat. overall i am very handy and can fix most things that break around the house and vehicles. it really pays to learn the stuff and is certainly satisfying when you can do it. and it saves your time as well as you usually spend more time being there or bringing your car in and waiting for someone to fix what you should be able to do yourself.

What kind of snow plow?
01-16-2018 , 05:40 PM
Being able to fix most things is indeed very useful. I used to weld but lost my touch at that years ago but could relearn easily. And wire welding is a snap and easier than stick welding. Still, I think I will eventually get a small welder (wire and stick) and an oxygen/acetylene torch. Essentially for any small shop and backyard repair guy to have.

i got a wire feed and a tombstone(stick). dont use them much no nickels looking welds from me.
i do have a complete shop at all my spots so i can fix whatever. lots of tools for me and i like having them.
good to drop a 220 out of the box for a welder plugin., air compressor etc.

mack. i got an 8 foot 2 boss vee plow on a 3/4 ford super duty. i use it for my cabover camper and winter the plow goes on. its the best there is for my stuff. and the adjustable v plow lets you scoop and bust through big drifts.
also a kubota tractor with a bucket and back blade for the tough stuff and piling things up.

hey i actually was doing well in a tournament and got all in pre with aces and lost.

i hear that story all the time. i usually walk away from them when they start it off.
01-26-2018 , 01:14 PM
in fast tournaments many dont want to go home too quickly so play overly tight in early stages. so thats a good time to pick up chips on bluffs so when you have to race later on you have more than one shot at it.

made a good move in a small tourny. got down to 4 and negotiated a true 4 way equal split. plus i got the last longer bet pool. many time s people are happy for a payday and glad to get it over with for the night.
02-05-2018 , 01:51 AM
followed up with a better result. mostly trying harder and some good luck. its a lot about not getting trapped in hands you should have gotten out right at the start.
02-14-2018 , 05:16 AM
been laid up inside with a cold for the last few days. just when it got nice and sunny out.
first cold in years, so ive been lucky. but i dont hang around people too much so i am not exposed as often.

there is a neet product called a thermo cube. that i use all the time. you plug it into the wall and then plug in a heater or light to it and it turns on near freezing and off after the area has warmed up to the 40's. not needed for the wimps that live in warm weather all year though.

So Ray, did you know a person by the name of John Austin Jr?
02-17-2018 , 05:37 PM
i dont believe so but may not have know the persons last name.
02-17-2018 , 05:52 PM
Ok, Thanks. No more questions for now.

some days you lose and think it was one of those days you just couldnt have won. they do come up but usually you can find enough hands where you played badly and could have changed the result by a good amount.
02-24-2018 , 03:03 AM
got knocked out of two tournys right near the money. one was a flopped full and the other just losing in a tough spot. thats why i hate them as one hand determines a lot of work and time wasted if you lose it.
02-27-2018 , 03:45 AM
worked my way all the way to near the end and couldnt bring it home again. frustrating but not really as its the way it is.
never had enough chips to do any plays but all ins and finally got caught and lost.
against not so great players it is real easy to get way down in a tournament. but getting through the last bunch you have to get lucky unless you were able to build a large stack early on.

they say march comes in like a lion and out like a lamb.

looks like the first part is starting to happen. boy, some bad weather around the country.
03-03-2018 , 04:12 AM
went out on the bubble darn it. also cost me the last longer bet with 19 people in it.
although one of the two still in had much more chips than me.
one of those where the short stacks kept going in and doubling up while i just went down.
03-17-2018 , 10:46 PM
lately in tournaments ive been getting to within two or three of the money and not getting there. mostly bad luck on flips and getting ground out with no chance to pick up pots.

these tourneys get lots of callers in them so its tough to work your way up in chips without a showdown.
