I once heard that a man needs to either get busy living or get busy dying so I've decided to get busy living.

I'm someone who has many interests (poker, movies, food, books, etc.) and I'll be touching on all of them within these electronic pages as time goes by.

Hope you enjoy reading as much as I am sure I'll enjoy writing and don't be surprised if my writing extends to the edit line as someone at 2plus2 gave me this custom undertitle and I must live up to it. Especially in my own blog.

I thought about using my full 2plus2 name in the title but people just say Doc when addressing me and it just looked better as Doc's instead of Doc T River's.

One of my goals was to play a WSOP event and I thought I would be able to do it this year along with playing an HPT event. When things went south and it became evident that I couldn't I went into a funk. This caused me to leave 2plus2 for a while.

Although I didn't get what I wanted, I did get what I needed during my time away. As I told people in ATF, I no longer have a fiancée and that is something that should have happened about ten years ago.

I have been blessed in my poker life and as my blog continues, I am going to talk about my memories of playing the 2009 WPT Celebrity Invitational, my past trips to Vegas, and my most recent trip to Vegas where I finished 29th out of 650 people in a poker tournament.

That makes me think of a scene in a TV pilot we saw while in Vegas. One of the characters has a "date night" when the wife and children are out of the house.

Got to see five pilots at Television City while in Vegas. Identity, a spy show; Battle Creek, a cop show; Good Session, a married life show; and, Jane The Virgin, a English version of a Spanish language soap. Yes, that's four and I cannot remember the last one right now.

Have to ask the wife as she has my brains now.
