It's the 11th hour.

I am strong,
fierce,
my barrels are still full.

Hour 13:

An 82-year-old retired Italian mobster just talked my head off about the magic of baby aspirin.

Unfortunately my ride had a meltdown and we left before the mission was complete.

The week is still young, and I don't feel under the weather any longer. It sounds like a small group will be getting sushi tonight, then I'm going back at it for the graveyard shift.

It's possible that rickroll and others giving me positive reinforcement led to this lengthy session and hunger for more. It's rather dumb that people think negging is superior; it's just another example where........oh man I'm tired and losing grasp of this sentence........hang on, I'll get it.......another example where an easy solution works but is inferior to a better one.

Currently listening to:

Jagged Little Pill. I have nothing profound to say about Alanis, nonetheless she is pretty great. My father had a few cool attributes about him, one was taking me to concerts as a kid. I wouldn't say he was desperate to get tickets to Alanis Morissette, but he was definitely excited when he won tickets calling into the local radio station. He also listened to good music, mainly in his 1991 reddish colored Toyota Camry. Listening to him chat about music with my sister (a mega talent) was immensely cherished.

Another thing I like to do with my mind is listen to music. Some have voices in their head, I have philharmonic orchestras in mine. The time and rhythm is perfect, although a bit faded compared to actually listening to music. And I have a catelogue of hundreds of songs. Having a radio-head is a jolly good way to pacify boredom.

'Progressing' is the term. Tonight I barely managed five hours.

that's a start, you had way too many 1-2 hour sessions posted in the other thread - i genuinely don't even understand how that's even possible

I don't understand why it took almost two months for me to adapt and start having fun at the tables. I switched rooms to where the local, older degenerates like to play and I feel like I fit in better.

This is a leak that may never get fixed. I remember taking a one orbit shot at PLO 5/10 a long time ago, and feeling cold emptiness around me at the table. I remember it VIVIDLY and I couldn't cope with the atmosphere.

I never give up. At least not as of today... so I won't. Back to the drawing board.
Good news. We are now collaborating musically.

He told me to record something, 2 minutes later I sent him whatever nonsense had popped into my head. He said it's legendary and he's adding vocals and amps.

I'll share his production in the morning. It was about 45-seconds of concerted energy from me, probably the worst, pop-sounding garbage I could have possibly written.

BOOK CLUB UPDATE

We will be reading Slaughter-House-Five by Kurt Vonnegut the weeks of 1/1-1/14 .

If I had my complete **** together I would make a reading list for the whole year. Lex Fridman did that for 2023, it was a pretty good list iyam, and he probably finshed it on time, which unlike me, I would not.

It's 2:25 AM.

I'm under the weather, and am going to The Orleans Casino & Hotel for a night grind. If you're there, I will be wearing a grey Hoodie with Navy Beats headphones, feel free to come up and say hi, if you want a snot-ball heading your way.

That's what you get when you doxx yourself. I lost two large pots in 90mins in a splashy, soft game.

My s/l is $1K. Not sure if it's too small.

Not saying it's covid or that you should even care if it's covid, but didn't we learn from the pandemic that if we KNOW we're sick the polite, socially responsible thing to do is not pass it around if possible? Isn't this like 3 nights in a row you've shown that you care absolutely zero about whether your tablemates get sick or not?

Mark, be honest -

When you heave a mild headache and a runny nose exclusively, do you stay home from work and isolate yourself from EVERYBODY?

If you do, then you're a saint. Mazel ****ing tov, dude. My symptoms are still mild, I woke and decided today I'm staying home.

I noticed (and remembered) that I also had a sore throat on the first day (haven't since then), so I will likely get heat for that. Oh well, I'm no saint, and half the room was caughing sick.

I'd bet McLovin' would vouch for me being a polite, socially responsible individual. Who especially worries about the health of others.

In case that is up for debate.

Well, the description changed from sore throat and hard to get out of bed and under the weather to mild headache and runny nose. I am not a saint...or am I!?, but yes, if I'm sick for 4+ days I'm staying home and not spreading it around, especially to the olds at the poker table. Sorry I said anything. Pretend I didn't. Another thing we learned during the pandemic is we're all 100% right and nobody is going to change our minds.

I had covid recently, it was nothing but a sore throat for a day, then a headache and runny nose for a few days. Yes, I isolated. I wouldn't have even known that's what I had if it hadn't been for the old tests I had from previous years, I wouldn't have paid for a test. It wasn't a big deal for me, but my uncle caught it, and it ****ed him up for 3 weeks. Plus I have a 103 year old woman to worry about passing it to, so I'm more cautious and aware of the possible consequences three steps removed, I guess.

To reiterate: I wish I hadn't said anything! I don't really give a **** what you do. I'm sorry I opened my mouth. Maybe I should change my undertitle to Karen for a few weeks, lol?
