Good stuff I have worked with all those guys throughout the years.
Funny how this business is taken as such a serious and artful craft when people at home don't really care about much more than just watching the game.

I had no idea...have we worked together lol? I was a segment producer for quite a few poker shows over the past ten years, including ESPN's WS coverage, Poker at the Plaza, and Poker After Dark.

Also, do you know/work with Marty Corwin? He's a live sports director - mostly with boxing and the NBA. We both work with Top Rank Boxing these days. Good guy and a good friend.

I know Marty very well and have worked on several of his shows. I was the TD on Ultimate Poker Challenge for all the seasons shot at the Plaza. Also worked several PAD and HSP shows.

After moving from editing to multi-camera switching, in 2004 my first TD gig in Vegas was switching a season of Rita Rudner's talk show "Ask Rita". This was shot on one of the stages in the now defunct MGM Grand Amusement Park.

One of the show's guests was the late David Brenner. Here is a photo I took that they used as a promo shot.

Several years later in 2008 Rita recorded a stand up special for PBS which the same production company hired me to TD and help crew. Rita Rudner Live From Las Vegas.

I was linked into this thread.
I never knew it existed (and still don't know where I am).

Very cool thread.

Going back to read the entire saga.

Am on a nice run gig wise.

Worked 16 weeks on Monster Energy Supercross tour as the Director and Technical Director of their International Feed.

Was the TD for the Sony Playstation E3 Press Conference with 6300 in attendance and over a million live views on Twitch and Youtube.

Switched the line cut for a major artist TV special that was shot at T-Mobile. Directed and switched the 4K feed of UFC200. Have a few more UFC gigs coming up.

Directed and switched Maroon 5 @ T-Mobile for the Cisco Live conference.

Good Times!

Wow, what a wonderful thread! It looks like quite a glamorous job to be so near big-time entertainment, although maybe stressful too with those gigantic control panels with all the buttons.

Amazing Emmy PP!!

It can be when you are operating new gear but the anxiety subsides as you get more experienced with it. On the larger shows its a nice adrenaline rush as you go live and try not to screw it up.

Currently working the International Broadcast of NHL Stanley Cup Final for the Vegas games. Our feed is seen by more folks than the US and Canadian shows combined.

We do our own English commentary. Finland and China have announcers on site. If others want the show in their language, they have sportscasters in their own studios watching the feed we are sending and voicing over it, or they can take out English announcers.

Video shot with my phone walking the path that the players take to the ice:
