Well,
where to start.....I guess some kind of introduction would be more than good start :-)

Introduction...
I am 38, comming from Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Czech republic. Which also means, that my english wonīt be the best and appologize for any possible errors.
I have a really good full time job in banking sector quite well paid. Still not having family even living with almost perfect girlfriend (I guess, she wonīt like the word "almost" ), who supports me a lot also in poker.
I think, this short introduction could be usefull to understand, that even an experienced guy could be interested in playing poker and constant improving. Also you should understand, that I am not a young gun studying high school an having plenty of time for poker.

All in all I am a man like thousands of others and I am having a desire to improve my poker knowledge and skills. Results will come automatically, that is almost granted.

In the past I have been studying quite a lot and have been analysing my data and my hands. I also received some hours of coaching.

Poker career...
Started in January 2011 with 180 men and immediately achieved excellent results, after 400 tournaments I won 1.200 USD net...than I moved to cash game, which was a disaster and I lost several hundreds to thousands USD. Recently I moved back to 180 men tournaments, where I feel more than comfortable. Did several analysis and have been watching some really good videos, which helped me a lot. 2014 ROI is 39% within 500 tournaments. Could be much better...

Knowledge background...
I do understand the bankroll management.
Odds calculations, probability calculations is not an issue.
I do understand the implied odds concept
etc....
Just to understand, that I am not really starting from scratch, but have already some decent theory knowledge and math as such is fun for me. But of course, there are hudreds of leaks....

As I have seen, that some videos, theory and thoroughly analysis is very helpful, I have decided to sign up to a poker training site. And now we are comming to the reason, why I would like to start this blog

Why this blog....
To be honest, I have never been thinking to start a blog. And now....here I am :-)
ok....comming to reasons....
First of all I think, this could be very useful for the people to see, whether the training and analysis really helps or not. And you could be sure, that i plan to work on my skills really hard even having not that much time.
Also the thinking process behind the decision which site to sign on and all the preparations could be usefull

Second...sharing the thinking process and all these informations will help me to sort my thoughts and I do expect, that I will receive severall comments, which could help even me quite a lot.

Last, but not least...I have some plans and sharing them + showing the progress (if any) will push me really to fulfill my homeworks. As such, this will be my push to not become lazy and to work on my game...you know, i dont want to fail!!!

Well....at the end.....what I am looking for

My focus will be MTTīs and would like to continue with 180 men. As such I am looking for the site providing me the most for MTTīs.

Next time I will go through the process of choosing the site. I still do not know, which site I will choose.
And please, keep in mind, that I am not going to share all the details I will learn during the training (like how to float profitably, when to 3bet etc.). I am going to share my approach to the training like what I am learning, why, and what are the results after such lesson learned. Of course I am going to share results and also possible mistakes and failures.

See you next time (usually Mondayīs evening) and feel free to contact me. I do speak also german.

if you've only played 500 180mans in 2014 i'd say you don't know **** about bankroll management or odds. you should be playing 500 of those every week.

and i don't know what you're thinking not setting up base on pokerstars. see you next monday.

Just a simple question.....how the awareness of bankroll and knowledge how to calculate odds and proabilities and any other theory is connected to numer of played tournaments?????
2+2=4 is also not connected to number of calculated equition

and other comment - have you read the post? do you really think 500 tournaments per week are possible if you have your regular work? come one :-)))))))

if i can solve one calculus problem, it doesn't tell me much about my knowledge of calculus. if you play 500 180mans, you can't estimate your winrate and that makes it tough to figure out how or if you're improving. if you look at the top 180man grinders on sharkscope, even they will hit a 400buyin downswing. if you don't want your downswings to last months or years, you'll have to start putting in more volume. drop down in stakes and teach yourself to play lots of tables simultaneously. serious players can knock down 500 tournaments in a weekend. gl

ok...completely agree, that the numer of tournaments is too low for estimating my winrate. And also I do agree, that dowswng could be pretty high.
Nevertheless, my focus is to get solid poker bases. Without this I am just feeding sharks :-)
playing more tables simultaneously is maybe a step after....maybe.....

Which site to choose?
First of all, sign in to the training site is a sort of investment, even quite small. As such I am going to think a bit about it. What kind of game I do want to learn and practice? What kind of learning process is the best for me? What kind of coaches/teachers I would like to have? I guess, there are still a lot of question which would come to my mind as I will go through the selection.

Letīs try to answer at least these.
What kind of game I would like to learn?
As said at the beginning, my primary focus will be NLHE MTTīs and multitable SNGīs (preferrably 180men)
At this stage I do want to focus on regular full ring MTTīs. i am not that much intereted into turbo or six max
Small to midstakes
Do I want to learn Cash Game?
Not really and not at this time. Not that important for me
What kind of learning process is the best for me?
As in the past I have already read several books, have seen several videos and went through some coaching I am almost sure, that I would preffer to learn theory and than to see, how the theory is beeing used in real life. I am pretty sure, that i do not like the live sessions and just watching videos, where the players are discussing the hand and the way they have played such hand. This will be very helpfull in the future as I would be able to understand what is behind.
What kind of coaches, teachers I would like to have?
Well...of course the ones, who are still in the game, who are showing a consistant income from MTTīs/180men. I would preffer to have teachers, who are not only good players, but good teachers as well.... saying that, I would choose rather a 500k winning player, who seems to be better teacher than 2mio winning player.
In the past I have had a really good experiance with Timex videos.
And of course expenses...
I need to find a really good balance between costs and expectations....as everybody :-) site offering variety of memership fees

I would say, that at least those questions are giving me a good idea, what I do expect from the site and what is important to me.

What I am looking for?
• Site focused on MTTīs/SNGīs (180men)
• Regular full ring not Turbo or 6max
• Small to midstakes
• Not necesarrily focused on cash game and other poker variants
• Site offering structured theory videos and having also some live sessions videos as well
• Site offering winning teachers, who are still in the game
• With somehow balanced expenses

This should be amajor step forward to try to find a poker training site and to simplify the things a bit

After reading several reviews, I have chosen the following 3 sites as the best fitting to my preference.

Cardrunners.com
Pokerxfactor.com
TournamentPokerEdge.com

What do you think? Does it make sense? Have i forgotten something?

well.....decision taken

after reading several reviews and watching the free videos plus looking at the site set-up I think the site fitting the most to my needs and ideas is Tournamentpokeredge.com.

so..signed today and during next several days I am gonna explore the site much deeper and will create my learning plan.

In general, first I would like to take a look on some theoretical stuff concerning Early, mid and late stages of MTTīs. This itself will take me quite a lot of effort, I guess.

The way of learning, which suites me the best, is to watch the video and to make some notes by hand. Next level is to create out of these notes some "strategy" I am gonna introduce to my game.
and step by step I would like to introduce to my game as much as possible from such learnings.

I am also going to create some pre-session routine, which should help me to remember the concepts/strategy I should play.

We will see, whether this would work.

Cross the fingers :-))
