Thanks man.

Had a crazy session yesterday. 3 tabled a 2/5 deep game where maximum buy in was for $2500 and played a 1/2 shallow HU game. Made about $450 in the HU game, ran pretty well.

The deep game was pretty wild. I was in for about 10k or so at all 3 tables.I was up $600 and was going to call it quits, when I get dealt JJ and run it into a spewy players QQ for 1k. Sounds familiar? I was kicking myself after that hand. Afterwards I ran pretty bad, I was getting out kicked on pairs, other guys draws getting there and my 3-bets and c-bets not getting through. Finally I played a monster hand that bailed me out for the night:

Background : its a 6 handed game, everyone has over 2.5k
I'm playing the villain of the hand at another table HU and owning him, showing him bluffs and 3 betting-4 betting super light and showing him, because I know he won't change his game to adjust. This gets the villain heated and hes prone to make mistakes or maybe randomly spazz once he's had enough (this has happened in the past). I have history with him and I've called his multi barrel bluffs with A high before and owned him as well.

I get dealt JJ in sb.

UTG raises to $20, Villain calls from cutoff, Button calls, I bump it up to $99,
UTG folds, Villain raises to $210, all folds I call.

Flop ($450, there are antes in this game too) : 8c 5s 5d.

I check, villain bets $320 I call.

Turn ($1090) : 6h

I check, villain bets 700$ I call

River ($2490) : 3d

I check, Villain ships for $1300. I call, villain has AK.

I didn't think he was good enough to play AA or KK that way without 3betting and aggro open. I put him on a very weak hand and was surprised he even turned up with AK there. Needless to say that hand bailed me out and I was up +1300 or so after that session.

Had another good session yesterday. My club ran 2/5 instead of their usual 1/2 yesterday. I jumped into 3 omaha tables and one holdem Table.

The Omaha tables I couldn't get anything going. The holdem table was 3-4 handed, my specialty. I started off playing some guy HU and he smashed every flop, turn or river imaginable. I was down $500 or so, then I started increasing my 3bet and 4bet range and eventually ran myself back to even.
After that two more people joined. One of the people like to bet pot after he raises preflop and he 3bets 5x an opening bet. Needless to say, he's good for the game. Everyone ended up sitting out and I played him HU. I stacked him 3 times for 1k a pop and he left.

I was down in Omaha so after I stacked him I just ended my session. +$1500 for the night. Going to keep following my advice about locking up good sessions and collecting cash every week.

House Update: The bank got back to me about the house. The initial offer we put in was for $210k. The bank came back with $290k. We countered with $225k and the bank came back with $284k (lol). The house is def worth 300k or so but the condition it's in will require a lot of work. I went over there earlier today to take a lot of pictures, and I'm going to have someone write up an estimate for all the repairs. We're going to submit that estimate with a final counter, and we'll wait to see what the bank says. I'm going to probably get this house no matter what but would like obviously like to save as much money as possible. If I end up getting it for 270k or so I would def like to make another 10k or so in poker so I won't have to pull money out of my business.

Business update: Getting 3-4 new clients this month. A few big clients have been under performing for the last two months, so I've been under my projections which sucks. Have about 10k or so less than I anticipated to have. I'm still + in those months, but not as much as I would have liked.

Going to start paying off my business debt now. Got about 38k in debt, going to throw 5k or so a month at it, depending on my income for the business that month. I have 15k in a regular credit account which I want to get rid of ASAP, and the rest of it I have in no interest accounts which are good for another year and change. My credit score is slightly suffering, but it's fine because I'm not buying the house under my name, and my girl has perfect credit so if I need anything, she'll buy it.

So I finally did hot yoga on Wed. It was pretty intense. There were a few stretches that I had no shot doing. I tried my best but I was by far the worst one in the room. I think I'll mix it into my routine though, it's a great workout and I'm not flexible at all so that'll improve my flexibility for sure.

Had a really swingy poker session yesterday. Was down 2k then made a comeback and ended +$750 for the night. A few hands from memory :

Hand 1 :
Omaha 2/5 effective stacks $500

Hero is in late position with AcTcQh9s

Utg limps. Utg +1 raises to 25. Folds to me I call, folds to utg he calls.

Flop ($82) Ad Qs 8c

Utg checks. Utg +1 bets pot. I raise pot. Utg ships for $475. Utg + 1 folds.

It's $200 or so more to call. I hope he has a wrap not 88. I call. Utg +1 has Jh9hTh3s ( yes that's what he called a raise with preflop)

Turn 7d
River Ks

Hand 2 :
Effective stacks $500

Hero : Ah Kh 3s Ks

Utg raises to 10$
Two callers
MP pots it to $47
I pot it to $182

Folds to MP who calls. He's very spazzy and does this with very bad hands so I'd love to get it in here against him.

Flop ($399) : 3h 4h 6d

MP checks, I bet $190 he ships I call.

Turn : 8d

River: Js

Villain flips Ad Kd 2s 5c
Easy game

Hand 3 :
500$ effective stacks
One short stack with $300

Hero MP with Qs Js 8d 7h

Utg raises to $15. Utg +1 call. I call. Cutoff ($300 stack calls) button calls and bb calls.

Flop ( $92) : Qs Jd 7s

Checks to me. I bet $40. My plan was to bomb any blank turn and check fold any dangerous ones.

Cutoff calls. Button calls. Utg calls.

Turn ($252) : 2h

Checks to me I bet pot. Cutoff is all in for less and button call. Utg folds.

River : J c

Ginn. I bet pot and button calls. I take the pot.

Hand 4: Holdem

Effective stacks 1k

6 handed I get Ks Kd on button.

Cutoff opens to 20$
I raise to $54

I've been 3betting 80% of his opens. Showing bluffs and outplaying him. He's getting pretty tired of my crap I think.

Folds back to cutoff who makes it $170.

I make it $380. I left him enough room to ship with fold equity. I've 5-bet him light before and showed him 95o when he check folded to a c-bet. The stacks were deeper in that hand though. He knows I can easily not be nutted here. This is where my playing style pays off.

He ships, I snap call. He has JJ. We hold. Standard hand IMO.
Villain is the same player who I stacked for $2500 in that JJ hand a few posts back.

I end up being up around $750 and close my laptop. I've been doing great with that all week and made about 4K as a reward.

At the rate in going I can have more than enough money for my house at closing. Just have to keep locking up good wins.

Not planning to play at all this weekend. I went upstate to my girls dad's house for the weekend with my brother. My plan was to propose in a beatific mountain trail.

We took a nice hike on a pretty easy trail. My brother is 13 so he'd get tired on a more difficult one. When we reached the top we saw a rattlesnake and there was a bunch of people there too. I had to wait until they all left. Then I gave my brother my phone and said " take a picture of me and xxxx (my girl)". This was his cue. I walked over to my girl and said "hold on a sec I gotta tie my shoe". Then bent over and pulled out the ring. I said " I've been with you for seven years, and I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?"

Her response : "really?" ( but in an innocent manner

Me : Yes, really. So is that a yes?

Her : Really? Yes!

Then she asked me really like five more times after that, she was in a lot of disbelief but very happy.

She almost caught me planning it the day before. I called her dad to tell him what's up and to plan the hiking trail. In my car when I use my phone the last ten names or so that I called pop up. So when we were driving upstate and I was making another call she saw her dads name and asked "why did you call my dad?" Thinking swiftly I said "I didn't mean to call your dad, I meant to call my buddy xxx which was listed above his name in my phone". I don't have any friends with the name I gave her, but it went over fine.

Now the fun part begins : planning the wedding smh. We're shooting for next year the soonest, probably in 1.5-2 years realistically.

Played 5/10 hu and lost about 2k. No hands to speak of just a dumb decision because we settle up with the club at the end of the week and today was the last day of the week. Lost half my profit in 20 minutes.

Still up for the week but I feel like a complete idiot because of today's decision.

At least I had a big life event go my away. Money comes and goes but happiness is what's important.

Also that ex employee isn't getting the unemployment she tried to apply for. The decision went in my favor. So that's great news.

Going to be putting in a lot of hours this week so looking to make up that stupid loss I had tonight.

Played quick session last night. The guy I played HU the night before was in the game and he was terrible. I'll get the 2k I dumped to him back in in no time.

A few hands from memory:

Hand 1
$1/$2 20 cent Ante 4 handed game. Effective stacks $400

Hero: Ad 9c

Fold to button. Button opens to 6$
SB who's the spazzy villain raises to $24, I call, Button Calls.

Flop (73$) Ah 2d As

Villain bets 48$ I call, button folds.

Turn ($163): Jd

Villain bets $120 I call.

River ( $303) : Qd

Villain ship for $200 or so. I call. He shows KTo for runner runner straight.

Hand 2
$1/$2 20 cent ante $400 eff stacks

Hero in bb : 7h 3h

Folds to sb who's the donkey villain.

SB: Raises to $6, hero 3bets to $22 sb calls.

Flop ($45) 3d 2s 2h

SB donks out 24$, hero calls.

Turn (93$) : 3s

SB donks out 80$ hero calls

River ($253): 10s

SB ships for $280 or so
Hero calls
SB shows 7s 8s for flush and mucks

Hand 3
5 handed 1/2 holdem 20 cent ante effective stacks $800

Folds to SB who's the same villain from the previous hands . I've been 3 betting him a lot and owning him this session so he seems very frustrated.

Hero : As Ad in bb

Folds to SB. SB Raises to 8$. Hero 3bets to 29$. SB 4 bets to 90$. Hero 5 bets to $190.
SB ships for 800$ Hero Snaps. SB shows 3d 3c (LOL)

Runout was : Qd Kc 8s 2d 9H

So this further shows my point that I played AWFUL on Sunday, because this guy was terrible and I tried running him over. If I was patient and I played TAG against this clown I could've clipped him for 2k+ easy. Now that I know how he plays, I'll get my money back ASAP.

Played for about an hour so yesterday, but had a good session. +2k ish. Ill take that hourly all day.

The guy I dumped the 2k to on Sunday was sitting at two tables. One was 4 handed the other it was just him. Naturally I joined both. It was a 2/5 game last night and every1 had about 1k in front.

Hand 1 :

Hero is on button and its HU.

Hero : KQo
Hero : Raises to 15
BB : Calls

Flop ($30) Qd 4h 5s

BB checks. Hero Bets $21 BB raises to $58 hero calls.

Turn ($146) : 8d

BB bets $230 (lol). Hero calls.

River ($606) : Ks
BB ships about $600 and I call. BB shows T9s

No other big hands come to mind. I basically got my 2k back from this guy over the course of Monday and Tue. Now I have to clip him for another 5k or so and I'll be happy.

Business update: Three of my clients started working last week, so I'll be billing for them soon. Waiting on another medical office to find two doctors to work there, and I'll be billing for those two doctors as well.
The files are set up for two smaller offices to give to the law firm, and the extra revenue from that project will be great. The wheels are turning slowly but surely. I will have to hire another employee soon, probably in a month or two because the two people I have scanning files now won't be able to catch up at this rate.

House update: We got an estimate on how much it'll cost to fully fix the house and it's roughly $140k. The banks estimate was based on a random realtor's assessment, and that realtor didn't even go to the house! People are so lazy. We submitted a low counter, with evidence showing how much repairs will be necessary.
Our lawyer spoke to the lawyer of the bank, and that guy was a complete clown. He got this random assessment, neither him nor the realtor he get the assessment from went to look at the physical house. They were unaware of the damage. They also did not search comparable properties to determine a price.
We submitted pictures of all the damages and the corresponding assessment listing the damages and the price it will cost to fix it. We are holding firm at $235k and based on all the damage that might even be too much. Unfortunately my clown of a realtor submitted two counter offers on my behalf without telling me, so now we're stuck at $235k. I would've gladly went from $210k to $215k to $220k instead of the $210k to $225k to $235k jumps. It's still worth $235k, but I'd rather save 15k for something else like my wedding. We'll see how the whole situation plays out.

Played a session for about 1.5 hours. Ended up +$750. No crazy hands to speak of. Just a lot of PFR and c bets that got through. Got a few value bets in as well.

Friday I'm heading upstate for my best friends wedding. I'm the best man and I'm expected to give a speech, which I totally plan on winging. I have the general idea and the order of what I plan on saying in my head but I won't be writing it down. I plan on getting buzzed and seeing how it goes. Hopefully it'll go how I foresee it going in my head.

Will probably lock up this winning week and just go collect my money next week.

I'll be playing the $500 at Parx next week. I'll be there on Thursday for the day 1 then hopefully I'll come back for day 2 Sunday.
If I lose I'll play cash, and I've been having a great time playing live tourneys and cash recently. I'm looking forward to the trip and I have a good feeling about this tournament. I'm due for a win already.

Thursday I had dinner with my girl and parents at my parents house. We got pretty drunk ate some bangin food and then went home afterwards. I try to have dinner with my family at least once a week so I can see my family and brother.
After I got home I played a quick drunk session and made 1k. I
free rolled my best friends birthday gift basically which was great.
I spent the weekend upstate at my buddies wedding. We had a great time and were drunk for most the weekend.
I had to give a speech since I was the best man. It went great. I didn't write anything down. I got a little buzzed and had the general structure in my head when it was time to step up. The speech flowed well and got a lot of laughs. Afterwards a lot of people walked up to me, introduced themselves and said the speech was great.
The wedding was absolutely amazing and me and my girl had a great time. It's nice being surrounded by a lot of genuinely good people who are all there to celebrate someone's love.
I got back to NYC tonight and I might play a quick session. I'm back on the grind until Thursday then I'm heading to Parx for the $500.

Told myself that I wouldn't play last night but I guess I'm a slight degen because I ended up playing. I stayed away from the 5/10 though and only played 1/2. I told myself if I lost two buy ins I would quit and lock up my + for the week. Fortunately I made $420 to add on to my good week.

I just really wanted to play, so I splashed around in the smaller game. I've been enjoying poker a lot more recently. I'm not sure if it has to do with the winning sessions, or that I just accepted the game for what it is and have fun no matter what. Probably some combination of the two for sure.

Business update: The big medical office I'm expecting to get gave me another client for now. They are still waiting to get those two doctors in there, but they currently have another one working there. They decided to give me his billing to do, so that was a good bonus account. I start billing for the doctor as of today.
I made my first 6k payment toward my debt today too. Going to get rid of my current credit card debt, then tackle my debt that is in the 0% interest balance. I can't wait until I'm debt free and bringing in straight profit.

Personal life: Been hitting the gym very consistently. I'm in much better shape than I have been in a long time. A new goal for me is to go grocery shopping more and eat more meals at home. I would say I eat about 60% of my meals at home as is, but I still eat out a lot. I also want to start making healthier meals. Sometimes I just make pasta with tomato sauce because it's easy to make and I didn't go shopping. I have to stop being lazy and start buying good food every other day and making it at home.

Had a wild session yesterday. I played some deep 1/2 and standard Omaha 1/2 last night.

Was in for $3500 at one point. Ended up bailing out and going +$1600 for the night.

I started off playing HU holdem while waiting for the games to fill. The guy I was playing was pretty bad, bet 2x pot sometimes and over bet his marginally good hands. Great recipe for clipping him.

First hand at the game, effective stacks 1k

Hero : Ah 8h
Raises to 14$
Villain re raises to 50$
Hero calls

Flop ($101) Kh 3d 6h

Villain bets 80$, hero calls

Turn ( $260) 9h

Villain checks, Hero bets $120 villain calls

River ( $400) Ks

Villain goes all in. Hero calls. Villain flips KK

A few more hands :

Hand 1 :
5 handed now effective stack sizes 1k

Hero : 7s 5c

Fold to hero on cutoff, opens to $14. Villain on button makes it 38$. Folds to hero who calls.

Flop ($80) Ah 6h 8d
Hero checks. Villain bets 44$ hero calls.

Turn ($164) the beautiful 9d

I check, he checks. Now I know he doesn't have an ace. He would bet pot with A here.

River ($164) 4c

I check again hoping to induce, he bets $300. I go all in he calls with 44. Love when setups go my way.

Hand 2 : Effective stacks 1k

6 handed game

Hero : Kd Ts

Hero is on button. Folds to hero, hero makes it $14. SB calls. Villain (same guy from all the hands) makes it 54$, I make it $156, SB folds Villain calls.

Flop ( $328) Ah 9d 7s

Villain Check, I bet $144 Villain calls.

Turn ($616) 8d

Villain check, I check

River : 8s

Villain check, I bet $366 villain folds.

Hand 3 :

5 handed game, 1k effective stacks.

Hero : 9s Ts on button

MP makes it 10$ to go, cutoff calls, I make it $44. SB makes it $140 folds to me I make it $290 he calls.

Flop ($604): 8d 6c 4s
Villain checks, I bet $ 188 villain calls.

Turn ($970) 8h
Villain checks, I check

River ($970) Th

Villain ships, I call. Villain flips Kh7d

Poker goal : Make another 30k so I can safely pay for the house and cover renovations. I don't want to withdraw money from my business, or use my personal money for the house. I would LOVE to freeroll the whole thing. I estimate I have about 2 months or so until closing. I need to keep closing the laptop when I'm up over 1k and I'll be good to go.

Big fan of your blog.

Just a quick question, don't you think the whole "locking up a winning week" is restricting your volume a fair bit. Whilst it's obviously not the worst mental game leak in the world to have and it likely makes you feel good at the time it could be holding you back in regards to getting hands in and potentially learning more/moving up etc.

Yes and no.

No : The rake in this game is pretty high and if you combine that with my playing style it'll be tough for me to make money playing an 8 hour session because I raise 80% of my hands and get raked a lot. When I'm up a substantial sum, I am happy with the night's work and will gladly pocket it. If I can make 1k a night playing for 2-3 hours I'm more than happy with that. Even though I get rakeback, the rake still eats up all the money on the table as time goes on.
When I play live in casinos I play for like 10 hours or so due to extremely low and capped rake.
I also feel my learning ability is capped (not being cocky), because the way I play is fully correlated with who I play against. I adapt my style against my individual opponents in each hand and the basic math/strategy that can be applied in a vacuum setting I already know like the back of my hand.
Another factor is that the game usually starts around 830-9 and I normally like to be in bed by 11-12 latest. This also limits my playing time because sleep schedule is very important to me.

Yes: In theory if I am beating the game I would like to play as many hands as possible and for as long as possible to get the best possible results. Playing for 2-3 hours and stopping because I am up is a flaw in long term playing.

If the game started much earlier and had a capped rake I would be implementing this strategy instead of the one I am currently using.

Based on the variables with this particular game, I am happy with the strategy I have approaching it.

I am playing 70% for income and 30% for fun currently so I am happy locking up 1k+ nights and making 3-4k a week for now. Once all my investments start paying off, and all my debt is paid I can transition into playing 100% for fun, then I'll play as long as I want and won't have to lock up wins.

Of course I remember you man, we used to crush the 6 max's.

I had a swingy session yesterday, started off down 1k but ended up lockig up a 1.2k win.

A big hand I played bothered me and I wanted to post it on here.

Game is 2/5 holdem, $2500 max buy in. It was 7 handed. Everyone had max buy in who were involved in the hand.

Hero is in MP and gets AdKd

Folds to hero. Hero opens to $22. Cutoff and button call (they call me raises light PF). SB bumps it to $121 (he plays very agg against me because 1. He thinks I'm spewy, and 2. he thinks he can outplay me (he 3bet me with J5o in position before at a 9 handed game)) I bump it back up to $333, Cutoff and button fold. Villain Calls.

Flop ( $715) : Ac Jc 8s

Villain checks. I bet $244 Villain calls.

Turn ( $1203) : 5d

Villain Checks. I check. (This is the part of the hand that bothered me. I didn't want to get check raised and play for stacks here so I decided to "pot control". I hate the word pot control, because I think it's a cop out. I think it applies to when you don't know if your hand is good or not, so instead of building the pot you just check, minimize variance, and maybe figure it out later. Grab your balls and make the bet and don't worry about if you get check raised, it might even save you money on later streets.
Another reason I checked is because I wanted to kind of disguise my hand as well and make a nice value bet on the river depending on what came out. In all honesty though this was only 50% of the reason I checked , the other 50% was "pot control")

River : Qc (Every draw hit and AQ got there. Worst possible river for me.)

Villain checks. I don't beat anything here really, so I check. Villain shows AdTd and I scoop.

I don't like to go really deep into my thought process usually (poker lessons ain't free) but I'm still torn between betting $400 or so on the turn or checking. In hindsight it's an easy answer, but in the situation I felt he could've easily check raised me because that's how he plays and I would've been in a tough spot for 500bb.

Got crushed today for like 6k. My playing style + variance caught up to me. Played bad for like 2k of it though. The rest was variance.

Game was 2/5 2500 max buy in. 2 buy ins isn't too bad.

All my 3bets and 4bets ran into walls. I flopped second best hands or got turned/rivered. When I had hands I got no action. Everything was off this session.

The last hand of the night I called $20 with A2 on button in a 4 handed game. Villain was cutoff with $1200 effective.

Flop 3 c 4 c 5 s

Long story short villain had 6s7s and I doubled him up and left.

This means I'm going to have to win the 500$ Parx tournament to make up for it.

I totally disregarded my goal of making 1k and locking it up, now it's back to the drawing board. Two weeks of good play and strategy wasted.

Once in a while this happens. I play bad and run bad in a big game and lose like 4K+ in one session. Last time it happened was like two months ago though.

I should expect swings like this, but it still stings.

Parx was a pretty crappy trip. Lost a bunch of flips for doubles in the tournament ended up down 2 bullets.

Then jumped into cash lost another $1500. Played 2/5 1k buy in.

First hand I play I get 7c 6c. MP limps, all fold to me in SB. I make it 40$. BB folds. MP makes it 200$. I don't believe him, not sure why I have 0 reads at this point, make it $420 and he insta ships I fold. Goodbye $400.

Then I splash around a bit until this hand comes up. I straddle to 10$ and have 8s9h. There's a VERY tight Asian guy to my left and he makes it $35. I put him in AA or KK right away. Cutoff calls and I call

Flop (107$) : Qs 8d 9h

I check so Asian guy can bet and I can see what cutoff does, maybe avoid a setup if cutoff has JT or something. Asian obliges and makes it 50$. Cutoff folds. Great situation for me, I make it 150$ Asian goes all in for 500$ total I call

Turn 7d. River Qh

Asian flips AA.

I played some more after that lost like 500$ more and left.

Drove straight home after that. Going to shower then play online. Gotta start making that $$ back.

Haven't been playing much the last few days. I've just been enjoying life and catching up with friends. I'll probably play tonight if I feel like it.

I've had a sore throat since Monday and that set me back from working out. I went to the gym Monday and played basketball Tuesday. Since then I was pretty much inactive.

Today I was going to go the gym but I woke up with a super sore shoulder. I must've slept wrong on it or something.

I'm going to watch suicide squad with my brother today then hang with my girl after that. Then I'll see how I feel about playing.

Suicide squad was mehh. After Heath ledger as the joker no one else has a shot IMO. Also think they kind of went away from his character and made him more emo/ gangster (wearing lots of jewelry in a non ironic manner). Wasn't a fan at all on their take on it.
The movie overall was ok. Harley Quinn was the lone bright star.

Played some 5/10 Holdem after I got home made a quick $2500. Was a relief after my huge loss.

Still gotta make back like $5500 to get back to where I was a week ago. I'll make it happen, but I hate wasting my own time with slip ups like this.

Goal : make 15k starting now, within the next two months to make buying the house easier.

Borgata schedule came out, and it looks great.

I'll be targeting the 2 mill guaranteed, I got 7th place in it a year ago. ( Lost AK vs AQ after someone folded a Q preflop for 2nd in chips and an elimination/ 20k pay jump. Would've been a 6 handed game and I probably would have won the whole thing with the table I had. It was definitely the biggest hand I got outdrawn for in my life).

The 1 mill gauranteed almighty stack the following week looks great too. And depending on how I'm doing at the time, I'll also play the main event there and maybe finally make it on TV.

The first two tournaments I'll be playing for sure, the main will be TBD.

Super swingy session last night. Started off 4 tabling omaha, then I saw a really bad player sitting down at 1/2 Holdem HU so I closed an omaha table and joined the Holdem table. This guy love to be 3-4x pot with good hands, easily setting himself up to get stacked when he has the second best hand.

I started off +$1400 then lost it all, then won it all back, then lost it all again and ended the night with +$150. I didn't play too well against this guy because he bet 4x pot so much I figured he can't possibly make this many hands.

Another note on this guy is that he raises 3xbb from button and only calls 3bets usually. When he's OOP and i raise to 6x bb he re raises it to 50x bb, another huge leak. He raises like this 70% of the time when I open.

A few hands from the hu session :
1k effective stacks

Hero in BB with 8h 9d

Villain raises to 7$ I make it 24$ villain calls.

Flop ($48): Ah 8d 9s

I bet $22 villain makes it $150 I call.

Turn ($348) : 8c

I check, Villain checks.

River ($348) : Ks

I check. Villain goes all in for like $850. I call. Villain has A4o

Hand 2 :
Effective stack sizes $1200

Hero : Ks Th on button

Hero raises to 12$ villain makes it 80$ hero makes it $202 Villain calls.

Flop : ($404) Kc 9c 7h

Villain goes all in. I call. Villain has K9 and holds.

I should've folded there. He normally overbets like that when he smashes the flop and maybe like 20% of the time he's bluffing and 20% of the time he has a combo draw or something. I think I terribly misplayed that hand.

Hand 3: Hero has As Jh on button
$1300 eff stack sizes

Hero makes it 12$, Villain makes it 80$, hero makes it $180, Villain makes it $380 hero calls.
This was the first time villain 5 bet me, I should've folded prelop due to this fact alone.

Flop ($760) 9h 2s 3d

Villain bets 200$, hero calls.
(Should've folded here as well)

Turn($1160) 3h

Villain ships. I call.

River: Kd

Villain has JJ and scoops. Overall this is the worst hand I've played in a while. Villain got to me with his 5x-10x bet sizing and I wasn't patient enough to take advantage of it.

Hand 4 :

Hero on button with Ah Ts
Effective stacks $1800

Hero makes it 12$ Villain makes it 80$ Hero calls.

Flop ($160) Ad 8s 6h
Villain bets $240 Hero calls.

Turn ($640) Th
Villain bets $560, Hero ships Villain calls.

River 7d

Villain shows AJh and mucks.

This guy drastically over bets all his hands and if I just play TAG I can clip him for his stack each time I hit a hand. I adjusted to his play very poorly, got frustrated and ended up dumping all the money I won from him back and then quitting. At least I quit before I lost more. I am looking forward to playing this guy again everyday, because he will pay me off every single time I have a big hand.

Personal update: Ever since my best friend's wedding I had a terribly sore throat. This put me behind on going to the gym and exercising because I felt like absolute crap. I did some research and basically found out that if you have a sore throat for a week or longer, it's due to irritants. We smoked a lot of big cigars that weekend, and normally I smoke cigarillos so that definitely was the reason behind it. It's better now, but I still feel it and I have a cough as well. I'm going to take it easy until I'm back to normal health before I hit the gym again.
I'm going to Virginia for a week on Friday, so I essentially will be inactive for three weeks or so. When I get back from my vacation I'm going to hit the gym hard and get back to my previous shape.

Business update: I started billing for three new clients this month. I'll probably hire a third person to scan documents in October. September there's 3 payroll periods so I want to hold off making any moves until I survive that. I will make a smaller payment this month for my credit card because of this reason as well. You always want extra liquid in the business account just in case. I can fully pay off the credit card right now, but if I don't meet my projections for the month then I'll be screwed. Better safe than sorry.
