It seems that only English speaking countries and Germany are here. I am too from Germany. Curious to read what you have to say.

As for the poker & life part, there is a little bit to tell, but not as much as i would like to...

I am really busy working at the moment. After work i try to do sport almost every day. As i am getting older, i am getting fatter as well... this is not what i want to see so i started running in like february 2014 i guess... and 3 weeks ago i started to go to the gym on a regular basis. Fortunately i like it a lot, but of course, together with working there isn't much time for something else during the week

Having said that, i played at least a little bit of cards lately and it went pretty well too.

First i played 4k hands of NLHE Fullring 1c/2c blinds... you have to start somewhere, right?
But I am up like 13 Stacks (3 over ev), which is a great result obv.. I have to admit i ran really well in the 4k hands... had a lot of setups that gone my way, but played pretty well too i think.

Additionally i played 18 MTTs with Buy-Ins from $1-$2. I am not really rolled for that, but those are the smallest regular MTTs on PokerStars, so my plan was to play them and cash in when i would have gone broke.
Luckily i came 2nd in a $2.20 NLHE Ante Up MTT for around $90. This is obv. great because now i have a small bankroll already which should protect me from going broke

My plan for the next couple of days is to rework (is that the right word?) my pokersessions and find some interesting hands to share with you guys. Optimally i can find some leaks as well and improve my game.

As i am writing this, i have the idea to write a hand for hand blog entry of my 2nd place MTT finish. What do you think of that? interesting or not so much?

I mean, it's an Ante Up MTT which might cause strange hands, but i think it would be interesting to have a look at all the hands from a MTT when someone got deep (2nd/320 entries).
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I am new to this blog thing, so i have to get used to it first. But please keep commenting and discussing with me, i will give my best to write more regularly.

And pls write your opinion about my "hand for hand"-mtt blog post and write down what topics you would like to read about in the future.

Best regards and good luck at the tables for u guys!

Hello to my flock

Yesterday was a good day.

I am a student for Economy and Marketing and right now i am completing my internship semester at a relatively big internet company...
The plan for the end of the year was, to finish the internship and find a good topic for my thesis, at best in the same or another modern company.

So a few weeks ago i was contacted by someone, who took notice of my exams and my active cooperation work at the university and offered me a job o0
I had a couple of get-to-know-each-other-meetings and skill-tests the last 2 weeks or so and finally they decided, they want to give me a chance in their company.

There is nothing signed yet, but it could very well be that i will move to another city at the end of this summer to do my first real job

I am pretty exited, because i don't know what to expect really... but if everything goes as planned i will have some heavy work to do in the coming months

After a lot of dissapointments and bad decisions in the past years, i put a real effort in changing my life in 2014 and finally things seem to turn around.

I keep you guys updated & wish you much success at the tables!

After the up, follows the down

Hey guys,

last friday was a legal-holiday-day in germany, which is pretty awesome, because you have obv. three workfree days in a row.

So my plan was to make sports, play poker and do some private stuff on Friday, sleep forever on Saturday to watch the Spurs vs. Clippers Game 7 on Saturday and Mayweather vs. Pacquaio afterwards, and on sunday i was going to participate in a city run event (around 6 miles) together with 6.000 other amateur runners. Sounds like a good plan, right?

Well, final result was, that i got sick on thursday evening and spend the whole three days in bed... yay, great!!!
And now that it is monday again, i still feel bad, but i am able to work again... so i went to work and everything is business as usal.

Anyway, to see the bright side of it, i still feel to sick to do sports, so i will probably have some more time to play poker this week

Aside from that, i still watched NBA and the fight obv. As good as the basketball game was, as bad was the boxing part.
Basketballwise i really had no clue who to root for^^ i like the clippers a lot (but not a fan btw.), always liked them more than the lakers, even in past. Nowadays they are obv. one of the most spectacular teams in the league and i would really like so see them battle the warriors in the conference finals on the other hand, i can't see a team which deserves success more than the spurs. Their whole concept, player roster and coachingteam is just awesome and they do a great job year for year for a very long time now. Furthermore the Spurs was the first team, which really understood the modern team-basketball. So both teams deserved it and a really sick(/lucky?) move from CP3 brought the Clippers to the semifinals, i am okay with that
Boxingwise it was kind of a disappointment... I was thinking, i am watching a fight from the Klitschkos in heavy weight, where the one guy is superior to the other and because of that boxes a tactical and conservative strategy (which will ensure the victory)... and the other guy is trying, but can't do anything about it...
now you can guess who is who in that example...

anyone of you guys watched the game or the fight? what do u think about it?

Happy to hear your opinion, it's tough to discuss sports in Germany other than football

here's one funny tweet i read during the fight (Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, MGM Vegas - for the people who live at another planet^^), i want to share with you:

See you at the tables and all the best!

Hello Kevin, enjoying to hear about the auspicious start to your poker blog. 2nd in the MTT along with good BR management might lead to a nice rise up the ranks and a sense of joy for the readers many of who cannot play on such a great poker site.

When I think of German players in my mind I see Üter from the Simpsons in his leiderhosen grinding high in an alpine lodge whilst swilling a fine lager beer from
An oversized stein. Forgive me if this offends you, I wish you luck and progress in your fitness efforts as well, even if that means less beer and bratwurst.

Hi HanktheBank, welcome to my flock and thank you for posting/reading here!

hahaha, now worries your post isn't offending at all, i laughed a lot!

But i will tell you a secret about Germany which may surprise you a little. You are not talking about Germany at all with your comment above You talk about Bavaria only! (see picture, the red part is Bavaria, i live where the blue cross is, near the France border on the left side)
No one in Germany wears Lederhosen except in Bavaria (even there most people don't to be honest^^), and most people don't eat Bratwurst at all^^ Only in Bavaria and maybe in Berlin we have a high Bratwurst consumption Concerning the beer...well...we do drink a lot of beer in Germany But the "Maß" beer you probably have in mind is Bavaria as well...not Germany.
But don't get me wrong, it is not offending at all when people talk/think about Germany the way you did.

It is just funny how every country is strongly perceived by it's stereotypes, even if the people who have this stereotypes only reflect like 10% of the population in the country.
Another example is Spain, everyone thinks of lazy-siesta-dudes chilling on the beach all day and not working at all. But the truth is, here you are talking about Andalusia, the south of Spain. The other parts of the country are more like Germans... hard working, disciplined people.

i bet, i have wrong stereotype-clichés about America as well

Anyways, it's so funny talking to foreign people about Germany and their country as well. Wish i could do that more often... every 2-3 sentences there is something like "whaat, you do this and that in your country???, no way you could do this here"... so funny

------------------------------------------------------------------

i hope i will rise in stakes in some time... but with my low volume it might take a little After 7 winning sessions in a row, i lost 2 of the last 3 sessions i played. The first loosing session was bad luck for the most part (-2 Stacks, but +1 Stacks ev), but the second loosing session was superbad play, which is so frustrating, when you look at the result after some time

i am kind of angry and disappointed of myself when it could have been a slight positive or break even session but in the end i loose due to bad decisions... even worse, when you think about, that you have to play one very good session, only to get back where you was before

anyways... i'll try to learn from it and try to reduce those kind of sessions.

------------------------------------------------

It's really sad to hear that you guys still can't play on PokerStars. Sometimes we (in Europe) forget how fortunate we are to be able to play, even tough we have our legal problems too :-(. I really hope that online poker will be accessible in the US very soon. Would be so great for poker overall.
Where are you from HanktheBank? Are you able to play poker at all nowadays?

Best regards to you guys and thank you for reading and even more for commenting!
