About to step into the deep stack. I've decided that my focus will be on having less coin flip hands. Yesterday I busted out on a 33 versus two over cards. Basically a flip and I need to avoid those for all my stack. So today I hope to report back about busting on something more glorious :-)

Well, that escalated quickly.

My two pair ran into a straight and I'm on the rail in under 45 minutes.

I used to work for IBM and I've done contracts all over the world, including Colombia. I spent a month there a few years back. I don't even care if the ticket wins, I think Colombians are cool people and want to cheer them on today. Fawk Brazil

I'm feeling well enough today to try the $300 deepstack at Wynn again today. It's the tournament that I placed in last time so I'm hoping to make lightning strike again :-)

Nice! But you have to be fast. Even though it's a deep stack, some of these players act just like a young man coming in for a quickie . . .

I got coolered to cripple me and a middle pocket pair cracked to put me on the rail. I'm out in 40th, about 18 places out of the money :-(

My buddy and I exchanged 10% so I'm going to hang out and wait for him.

Maybe I missed an explanation earlier in the thread, but I'm curious to learn why your focus has apparently changed from cash games to tourneys.

That's a fair question.

I haven't made a choice to pick one over the other. I just happened to place really well in a tourney a few weeks ago for $5k so my confidence is riding high.

Also, my friends are in town and they ONLY do tourneys. So we've been staking each other and just having fun with the WSOP in town. Playing tourneys is just something that has come up on my schedule more than anything else. It's crazy in Vegas now, tourneys are *everywhere*.

I'm sure once WSOP is over I'll return to the cash games and pick up from there.

After basically playing nothing but tourneys during June (Wynn and WSOP) I'm kinda sick of them. So I'm back to playing my cash games and here's my latest results

I need to work on longer sessions as well as increasing my hourly return. I think my feel for the game is developing more and more and I'm learning to play super super tight in early position.

OMG Caesars did something right! I saw this in the lobby at work today (Caesars corp office) and I think it's the most badass WSOP sign I've ever seen. I want one of these!

At 37 years old, I feel like I'm getting old. I feel myself slowing down in various ways with changing tastes in habits, hobbies, music, etc. But with that has also come more patience and a broader understanding of the long-run. So those last two things are very good for poker.

I went out and put in a session today and something struck me as I was getting ready. There is a little "zen" aspect to poker in the mental game of being ready and being in a "place" that puts you in a position to win. I have my best sessions when I have a clear mind and conscience and nothing distracts me from poker. I've been getting into the habit of always showering and shaving prior to playing just to put me in a focused mood and prepare myself to win. I don't have a girlfriend right now, no kids, no big commitments and I think that's what let's me put my mind specifically on poker. I think that has contributed to my results this week because I've had a pretty good week.

So I'm going to try to tune-in more into this. Before I play, I'm going to ask myself, "Are you prepared to win today?". If there is something on my mind that prevents me from giving an unqualified yes, then I simply won't play. But if I find myself saying "yes" and feel that my mind is clear, then that's a day when I'm a pretty good favorite to take down a few pots :-)

I'm going to play some more this week and post the results at the end. I've had a pretty good run this week.

Dude, it's as simple as this, every day:

then remind yourself that your life is dope, and you do dope $hit.

Then post dope pics of fat chip porn and fly ass beamer and fly ass GF ITT.

Okay, now I think I'm in the wrong thread...

Its not like they used the bike lock to chain it to something. And if you dont feel like walking out with it(probably a bad idea with all the cameras around town and all), just ask someone in the office(dont you consult with CET in some capacity?) if its for use or being discarded, you might end up with it in your living room,. never hurts to ask, right?

I've considered walking out with it. Here's a true story:

I was coming back from lunch one day and two guys were yelling back and forth at each other in the parking lot near the entrance of the building (the same entrance where this WSOP sign is located). They were really going at it; I thought they were going to come to blows. One guy was a non-CET worker with his (unmarked) truck and the other guy was the head of physical security at this particular building. The security guy and I are completely cool with each other, but he's known for being a hot-head and can be intimidating.

So, they're yelling at each other over a work order that should have been run by security, but wasn't. The worker was yelling back about how "none of your people stopped us, they let us in!". The workers had managed to get into the building, do their load-up and get ready to leave the parking lot before anyone had alerted security or given them any sort of clearance.

What were they moving? A fawking ATM machine.

Two random workers in an unmarked truck managed to get and load up an ATM machine from the premises before anyone even questioned them.

So I'm thinking that the "WSOP Sign Heist of 2014" can definitely be done . . .

Well... If its that easy, you should have them throw in an ATM machine while you are picking up your sign.
