On Saturday I was really down on myself about my recent results and maybe even a little sour on poker in general. So I didn't do anything poker related Saturday night, I actually worked on the new web site for my consulting business. It was fun because I got to work with WordPress (which I haven't really done a lot of) and it kept my mind off cards for a while. I think that's what led me to have a good result on Sunday. Sometimes, I just need to step away from cards for a little bit to relax my mind.

I must admit that today I am not feeling 100% - I'm a little under the weather with a slight fever. So I just billed some hours this morning and am taking it easy for the rest of the day. I'm writing this with some hot chicken soup next to me and I'll have some warm egg nog again later (with Gentleman Jack of course!)

I have one of my Canadian friends coming back to town and I'll be doing some tourneys with him. Our next scheduled outing will be on Wednesday where we will (most likely) do Day 1C of the DSE event. I believe this event is $250 for 100K guaranteed, so it's a better value than the Aria tournament.

We are also supposed to go out to Paiute tomorrow and see the long drive championship. I would normally think about passing on that with a fever like this, but my buddy is close friends with world champ Jaime Zadlowski, so I'm sure I will have a chance to meet him. That could be really cool, so I'm going to try my best to make that event.

Regardless, I'm going to stick to my plan of not playing much cash in Nov and focus on more tournaments. I'm just going to see what Nov brings and take it from there. Other than that, I'm still plugging away at my PSU stuff. I have a mid-semester course that started this week, so I now have two courses to keep track of. That's not the worst thing in the world but adds just a little more stress. Life is good!

Nah. I wasn't 100% by the time I got to Poker Church yesterday. It was something Saturday morning - I haven't felt right since then.

Hi Jim, been a follower of the thread for a bit now...coming to Vegas on Black Friday for the weekend, will probably play the Orleans Friday night tournament (I'm sure the field will be 25 - 50 % smaller than usual) and then either the Aria or Binions 1 pm on Saturday...do you know of any promotions poker rooms put on that holiday weekend? Have never been down there around the holidays? GL at Church.

Indeed they are pretty old. I'm sure MB has had them for a LONG time, the chips are well worn. But, who cares, I'm just there for the coffee and poker most days

As someone else already posted, be prepared for a busy weekend. Thanksgiving can get quite busy around town. Having said that, I really don't know of any Thanksgiving specific things around town. There's so many good tourneys leading up to it (HPT, DSE, WSOP@PHO, etc) but I think that most of the things around those are done by Thanksgiving.

Thanks for following my thread.

It's a miracle that I have been able to bill any hours in the past few days here. I'm still feeling under the weather and I haven't really gotten out much. I'm just billing some hours in the morning, coming straight home and then just working on my new web site and/or statistics homework. Quite boring stuff actually, but I don't want to put any poker funds at risk unless I'm 100% ready to play. I'm optimistic that I will feel better by tomorrow and might target the Aria 1PM for Thursday. We'll see what happens then.

My afternoons have been spent on homework. A shiny Wynn $1 chip for the first 2p2 to identify the formula I've been working with today, without googling the answer! This is the life of a stats grad student . . .

I've had a really good morning with some client hours early and I then treated myself to some shopping. I bought some new Cole Haan shoes and since I've never posted a shoe pic, here it is (wore them out of the store).

I'm feeling well enough to play, there will be poker on the schedule today! So now my new shoes and I are at the Aria sportsbook with some Five50 waiting for the tourney to start. Just saw Baconmaker and his wife. Quickly said hello and let them stay focused in their game.

Life is good.

I made a completely bone-headed move to knock myself out of the Aria today. Frustrating. I can be such a rookie sometimes! But it was good to see wheydacheese and Baconmaker and Mrs Baconmaker down at the Aria.

Plan for the weekend is as follows:
Fri AM - Study & homework. SAS Programming class - w00t!!!! No, not really. SAS is actually quite boring but it can pay the bills. I'll also be sweating my buddy via text - he's playing the HPT event.

Fri PM - Bill clients. I just committed to a 6-hour day - that's A LOT of hours for me. I don't think I've worked 6 straight hours in ages - pray for me

Fri Night - Orleans tournament with the folks from Poker Church! Should be fun, really looking forward to it. It's not too late if anyone wants to come along - 6 people signed up now, feel free to join in.

Sat AM - Mandalay Bay tournament, just my standard AM routine.

Sat PM - Potentially do the Aria 1PM again depending on how my buddy does at the HPT event.

Sun AM - Mandalay Bay tournament, just my standard AM routine.

Sun PM - Poker Church to talk about the bad beats from Friday

Damn, that's a lot coming up in a few days. But I'm looking forward to it.

I was right there with ya and also made a boneheaded move to get knocked out of today's Aria tourney. I think I just got impatient and wanted to get back in the cash games.

I Might come join y'all at the Orleans event.

As soon as we surf the internet and looking for the jammer products we can see that there are various types of signal jammers that are for sale in the market now such as the phone blockers, GPS jammers, wifi jammers, UHF jammers, the multi-functional signal jammers and so many others kinds of signal jammers for sale as well. And what people now need to do is just select the best one according to their needs.

I stayed up until 2AM working on a new idea for a web site. So that ruined my plan for billing some hours today. Thats OK, I didn't want to work 6 hours anyways Now just staying home to finish some work for Penn State and then a nap and the Orleans Tournament later today. Life is good.

Working in a porn store could be hilarious. I bet the Breakroom chatter about the weirdo customers is comedic gold.
