Time moves fast............and then faster and faster.

long life isnt something that is expected from rock and roll stars. its sad each time one goes young. but goes with the lifestyle.
he was just too famous to go walking around on the streets of new york without body guards.

When John Lennon was killed I was doing my vagabonding across Europe thing.

I started going broke while I was in Greece. I ended up in small town west of Athens called Argos. I got in with a group of about 8 travellers and together we worked as a crew for about two months picking oranges for a man that seemed vey wealthy at the time and appeared to run the town. He put all of us up in a nice house and used our group exclusively for picking his groves. He was very generous and treated us very well with lavish meals and Metaxa at the end of each day.

All the travellers in the town who were working on the farms etc. would hang out every night in a small Taverna near the town centre. The day Lennon was killed everyone was in a state of shock. The Taverna had a cassette machine for music but no Beatles stuff was available.

The next day, unknown to us until later, one guy from Liverpool travelled a full day return to Athens. He found a Beatles cassette there somehow. That evening he returned to the Taverna and put the cassette in. It was played all night long. An amazing drunken party ensued with all sorts of emotion. A tribute to John Lennon! There were a few Liverpudlians there. Those people can sure cry.

That's where I was when Lennon died.

I once went to A Grange party. It was a like a coming of life thing.

My wife and I had recently married. Puppy love was still in play. We decided to tour the San Juan Islands in the north west of America. We ended up at Orcas Island. A tiny little island. A very nice resort. We did the couples massages and spa. Kayaking yada yada yada.

We ended up getting really drunk and stoned with a few people. So we loaded up our two-seater Fiat X19 with 5 people and headed to a Grange party that someone told us about. We got there. Full of people. Full of pot. Full of hippies. The place was stinky and sweaty and packed to the roof, in this lil'old barn.

We joined in and rocked to the band the whole night!
