Haha!! Mike haven beat me - You are far too kind RR. Just saw a thread with some ossum music in it and wanted to be a part of it.

I love The Rolling Stones. I saw em in 81. Was epic, but I was sad cuz they were old (lol wtf). In fact a bunch o my palz went to see em in 89 and I flat out refused to go. I felt they were way too old. Obviously I was a total fish and should have gone

and then add Tom in there.

I would like to add Dylan but those three never did it together.

I saw Dylan and Petty in the early eighties, not long after I hung out with peter townshend,. Bob accepted Tommy.*But it's rare that you ever get to sit around Dylan's table.

i was trying to make a joke and it clearly was mis-written or something, probably because subsciously I am not much of a country fan, but you rayz can post whatever you want in here.

sorry but I couldn't help xposting from ooT Too OTt ot whatever the **** ya wanna call it

Townshend can do anything. I hung out with him for about 3 days in Eilat, Israel many moons ago. He was drying out and I was soaking it in. it's a strange thing meeting and hanging out with your childhood idol. plays with the psyche a bit.

lol Well spotted! That was in fact a girl, Lykke Li, singing.

Fwiw, Mark Ronson is probably best known as a songwriter and record producer. Whether you like them or not, "Uptown Funk" was one of his and is about third equal on the list of best-selling digital singles of all time, and he received an Academy Award for "Shallow" ; 3,500m and 550m views on YT, respectively, so his work is quite well known to the kids.

I think I liked the Li song because the words "on and on" awoke a long hidden memory of mine of the song I used to listen to constantly, on and on, over and over, when I bought my first computer:

Another one I had on repeat. I used to wonder in amazement how two of the best voices around had happened to come together to make such an incredible head-nodding song. All the complexities of the singing, the story-telling, the mixing of both main and backing vocals, and the constant simple beat throughout makes it one of my favourites of all time:

Nothing makes sense unless you know who Iggy pop was. Back then, right around 1969, while the rest of the world was going psychedelic, he presided over quite some reign of perverted rock & roll terror. He would slather his body in peanut butter; barf on his audience; cut himself up with broken glass; wear silver-lamé evening gloves onstage; shoot heroin; make frequent use of his big, beautiful penis; crash his car into trees; beg horrified record-label executives for drug money; pass out in bathrooms with the spike still in his arm; check himself in to a mental institution and score coke off David Bowie while there. Just in general, he lived the totally messed-up life and wrote the totally messed-up songs without which there could have been no angry punk-music explosion of the 1970s, much less anything that has evolved since, angry-punk-music-related.
