I used to have a small production company, but it was before video was invented. I did corporate gigs and more talentless "concerts" than I can recall.
Started as a roadie for a friend. Learned the gear and procedures. Was never very artistic, so studio production was more experimental and not fulfilling.

Thanks. My 14 yr old is the same - took him on a couple gigs and he thought it was boring. Even let him do some live switching for the Pawn Stars Road Show and he had no interest in doing it again.

When I was 14 I was a badass.

PP- I dig the live action production. I was doing audio. Sitting in a studio with an objective was fine. Sitting in a studio with a musician made me want to stab unicorns.

Live sports audio is nuts. You see the Sunday Symphony video in my thread?

You are in charge of multiple mixes and mix minus scenarios simultaneously. You have an effects mix, mic mix, replay and other playback sources, your own music clip library you need to mix in usually without cues from the producer/director. You have to know the show intimately.

I have KitKat on this here tablet

Differences are mostly behind the scenes and current development capabilities.
Stuff you see/hear is mostly minor changes.
