Yes, yes I should.

There's a wood chipping and a stump grinding operation going on along the street outside my neighborhood.

May have to set up a sniper's nest..

LOL, I forgot it was a status on this forum (related to post count).

I overworked a tiny muscle in my wrist at the gum factory, last night.
Mother****er's still generating some substantial pain.

So, the first day of the year is done.
Didn't work my "job", so that's a plus.
Went to some stores to do returns/exchanges on many gifts for all of the family.
My boy wants a new phone. He thought we were buying it, so he picked a very expensive one (Huawei nexus 6p).
We're meeting later today to go shop for a phone he will be purchasing with the money he makes at his job. I expect he will get an LG G4 or maybe the Motorola Nexus 6...we'll have to see.
I am about to order a new concealed carry rig from Alien Gear, and maybe, tomorrow, go to my second favorite gun shop and see if we can work a trade. Would like to go to a compact 1911-style .45. I have 2 full sized now. Willing to let the .38 Super go for $400, maybe less, if the trade is good. They have a compact HK USP for a good price ($bout tree-fiddy).
My favorite gun store is closed until Monday (f Mondays), for the holiday.

J, have you heard of HS2000 handgun? Even US police departments use that Croatian gun. Some people even say that its a better version of Glock. I never used one so I have no idea.

I have heard of them.
It's now sold as a Springfield XD, although some of the original and export models are also available here in USA#1.
I like 9mm for the extra capacity, but for every day business, I tote a Colt 1911 in either .45 or .38 super. The super puts more poop on essentially the same amount of lead as the 9. The .45 is slower, but delivers more energy to the target via the increased mass of the projectile.

I'm thinking about getting a gun, but Daisy wants to take classes and what not before, which is fine.

I started doing research. Gun I want is $500. Ammo/classes/misc is going to be at least another $500.

Not sure if wanting to spend $1000 on something that I don't really need.

Bet you have/had over $1000 in games and accessories...
The lessons and time at the range (lots of ammo and some accessories) are the recurring expenses, and paying for lessons may not be necessary. The pistol is like the console, ammo and stuff are the selection of games.
Texas has good gun laws, regarding personal/concealed carry.
I don't consider myself a gun nut or oathkeeper type, but personal protection and protection of your family, property, etc. is critical enough to me that I can't rely 100% on someone else to have my back.
All in my household are experienced shooters. The wife and I both carry. Atlanta isn't the wild west, but the crimes that "might" be prevented or stopped are common enough, I can't commit myself to would never happen to us.

Oh I know, my PC tower cost over $1400.

The lessons are going to be mandatory 100%, because Daisy is afraid of guns/accidents. So, I'm fine with that. I get it that ammo and certain things are recurring, dad has a ton of guns. I've been around them my whole life. I'm not super experienced, because I hated hunting. I am a decent shot, from my limited uses. I know how to handle a pistol.

OPEN CARRY IN TEXAS NOW BITCHES!

GONNA STRAP IT AROUND MY FOREHEAD

But really, I want one for personal household protection, not to really carry in public, but at the same time: I don't want Daisy to be worried about the gun. She worries about everything as it is.

I'll talk to her about it, and see if she can handle it.

The forehead is a pretty bold choice. You'll poke your eye out.

A gun in the house is no more dangerous than a flashlight or a cordless screwdriver. Don't monkey with it, nothing happens.
I support massive and continuous training. You can't be too proficient. And I do not support carrying a weapon if you have NO training or experience.
I don't see a lot of gun violence news for your area, but I used to live near there, and know there are plenty of dip****s looking to take advantage of folks.
My concerns, and they are specific to my family, are the randoms wandering around looking for an edge to exploit.
We had a mass shooting a mile down the street (boyfriend killed girlfriend, her kids, shot her dad) and a police/FBI vs drugstore robbery crew a block down the other way. Those are concerns, obviously, but it's the dumbasses that make the news here everyday, stabbing folks and shooting folks for their iPhones and car keys, kicking in doors for flat screen TVs...they are bringing that BS to the suburbs. I don't want to lose my wife or child (or door or phone or TV) to some lazy, criminal douchenozzle.
I lean a little toward advocating for armed citizens, but it's a big choice, a personal choice.

I've been leaving my pistol at home the past couple days.
My right arm is damaged, and toting a canon seems counter productive.
Gonna have to go to the doc, see what's up with my flipper.
