Making very slow progress with the Quran.
I would guess the prophet was young and poorly educated, but that may be the translation.

J is a curious man with some time on his hands.

I haven't read the quran but I did read the whole bible once as a kid. I came out a non-believer. I was less than 10 years old and even then I thought no way any of that shid ever happened.

We're allowed to say shid in this thread right?

I think quite a bit of the things presented in the book happened, remembering as I assess them, that perspective is always a piece of the tale.

It's not completely about the afterlife. Some people are leaders. Some are followers. The followers need something/someone to tell them what to do and how to live. There is nothing wrong with taking the morals that the Bible or whatever book preaches and completely ignoring the afterlife/deity.

If everyone lived by the 10 commandments, the world would be a pretty good place to live. Or at least most of them.

Of course it's not completely about the afterlife, but I'm not exactly going to sit here and list all the reasons for religion just to say I don't get them.

Sure, you can say that everything would be good if we lived by the 10 commandments, but you're kind of implying that we can't live equally well without them. I'm fairly confident id know it was morally wrong to steal.
