I have no idea mate. I only got a new one because my other one is about 7 years old and almost dead. I got this one because it was small and middle of the range price. It seems to be doing the job so far

Windows 8 is fine. There is a desktop window and that just pops up straight away for me now like my old windows. I havnt seen that weird panelling thing in months.
