Im taking puffs from my last functional pen just to get through my evening but idk what iíll do tomorrow. Probably get gum because i prefer that even less than these nasty, ****ty e cigs.

Im worried too about dosing - am i really tapering by puffing this 2.4% pen? I dont know. I tried to look up dosages but its wrapped up in a lot of propaganda. My goal is to kick nicotine but replacements seem to actually have more nicotine than what i used to consume. I am addicted to cigarettes not as much as nicotine itself.

2.4% is very strong, but it depends on the device. Strong enough to give a solid "hit" in even a low powered cigalike. I would not consider that tapering, more for the period coming directly off cigs.

I've gone years back and forth between cigs and the nicotine lozenges. The lozenges were harder for me to quit than the ****ing cigarettes. I finally said **** it and got Chantix in November and haven't had any nicotine since Thanksgiving. It's worth a shot if the other things don't work for you.

Chantix is perhaps rather dangerous for a person who has suffered depression. It is also imo worth remembering nicotine isn't a huge deal, burning plants and inhaling the ash and tar is the main thing to be rid of asap.

I would argue that smoking is a much bigger health risk than Chantix by a very large margin and in so many different ways.

I gave up smoking and found it very tough.

I have no useful advice to give you apart from not being fooled by thinking you've got it cracked after months/years...because you're still an ex-smoker one cigarette away from addiction.

15 years later I'm still an ex-smoker who gets attracted and tempted by the smell of cigarettes sometimes...but it's a hell of a lot better than being an actual smoker.

That's some great advice. I can't count the times I've gone months, years one time, only to start smoking again after thinking I could just have one or two.

I had to quit cold Turkey. Cigarette bans in cities really helped me, didn't see any reason for my house to be the only place I went that smelled like tobacco.

Can't stay off the vape. Gonna try to monitor my intake and then do another taper :/ at least no cigarettes though. I am starting to feel like it's a lot easier to breathe.

My recommendation is to use 24mg without a care in the world over how much you're using it, until your lungs / taste / smell are noticeably recovered. This won't take very long, maybe a fortnight, maybe a month. Obv reduce right away if it's giving you jitters. As I mentioned before, 24mg is very strong = EU law limits sales to only 20mg these days.

At this point, the idea of smoking a cigarette probably becomes not very attractive at all. (Though even like 8 years on for me, the smell of fresh smoke outside is still "delicious" - I don't think that's ever changing. Stale smoke indoors is absolutely revolting, however).

Your usage will naturally lessen, as you move to being only addicted to nicotine instead of the fast and hard-hitting cocktail of nicotine + MAOIs and whatever else.

Move to 20mg, repeat. 16mg, repeat. Maybe a week each? maybe a month. whatever you're comfortable with. Keep going down, the power it holds over you lessens all the time.

I still vape, but I use 0.05mg juice at the most. It varies, it's hard to mix accurately at these low levels. I put ~1ml of 54mg in to a 250ml container, and mix with plain USP VG. I do use a powerful device that can evaporate ~4ml pretty damn quick if hammered, though.

At this level, I can pretty much take it or leave it, not much of an issue to be stuck in a location where I can't use for many hours, not even cravings. But also can chuff away on the thing when trying to solve a complicated / technical puzzle.

I know that if I actually wanted to stop, it would be trivially easy from this point. And the idea of actually smoking is absurd.

I've written mg instead of %, since that is normal over here. milligrams per 100ml. It's just 24mg = 24mg/100ml = 2.4%.

WARNING WARNING golf post - ignore if you hate these. I literally donít have anywhere else to post them that wouldnít get completely rebuked.


Got back to range finally today. I was trying something new today, knowing I swing over the top so badly I tried to swing from inside in a really exaggerated in-to-out way.

The result was insane, my good shots were about 30 to 40 yards farther than usual. My bad shots were a lot worse than with the previous swing but overall I think I was hitting more good shots than bad shots. I think I found the swing plane finally and I need to work on other things now. I got the card today of a trainer and sent him an email so hopefully I can get a lesson in the next week or two.


I hit the 130 yard range green 4 times in a row w my 7 iron and everything else wasnt that far. Thats insane for me. I usually hit 1-3 greens per ROUND.

Then i switched to 3/4 swing to full swing wedges and i was just peppering the greens nearly 100% from 70-90 yards. So much that i stopped even keeping track, i only missed a few.

Went to practice pitching , did 50 balls from 15 yards with my new PW, did 50 from 30 yards.

The 15 yard shots werent close to the hole but it isnt a real green so you just pick spots to land the ball. They were all going within a foot where i was aiming.

Then the 30 yard shots were NUTS. I holed 2 shots in a row and then nearly a third, a nice fourth shot, and lipped out the fifth. My spread was insane.

I tried to do short chips with the 60 degree but i blade it way too often. Iím not even going to put it in the bag tomorrow. Itís not a good club for me right now

Putting was garbage of course but Iím just going to do about 30 minutes in the morning and hope everything else I did today sticks with me

Sorry iím literally still not home. What a long day.

I shot +34 which is a little better than usual but was mostly due to starting out with like 5 triples in a row because i couldnt figure out the greens - they had just put sand on them so the putting surface was awful and slow/fast and just generally random results from a putt. Iím not trying to blame the greens poor condition but even my friend struggled and hes pretty good.

So once i found my swing I turned it around and actually ended up outscoring my friend through 7 holes which NEVER happens.

I was scrambling like a mother****er on the back, The wedges got super hot. had 4 pars and 3 of them were scrambles. Including one where i whiffed off the tee and left myself a 100 yard second shot on a 130 yard par 3. Took out my gap wedge which i was practicing a lot with and have been hitting it super crisp.

Ended up here:

Tap in 2 footer for par.

Generally my ball striking was decent for the last half of the round, my wedges were fire, putting total garbage. Shouldve been like a +25 round for sure. And even that score can come down a lot if i can stop tripling all the ****ing par 4ís.

Also idk why but i start playing better when i drink. Ive noticed this trend for several rounds now - i think because it takes my nerves away

Whatever i changed in my swing still needs a lot of practice - but even my friend was surprised at how much distance i gained. I carried a 170 green with my 6 iron which i basically never do on my most monster shot of the day - i hit the green but it rolled off the back lol. The sound it made was so ****ing pure, it kinda startled me. My friend told me it sounded like a gun went off, like tigerís irons lol. These clubs are nuts. When my friend tried out the 9 iron he hit it 180.

Mostly just focusing on rotating without swaying my hips - a constant problem i have - and keeping my left elbow straight throughout the swing. I figured out my blocked shots were due to my arm breaking down which opened up the club face. Now my shot is kind of biased towards a pull which i totally dont mind, missing right just generally sucks for me on this course. And when i pull i usually have crushed the ball, and since i generally put kind of a slicey spin on it it usually comes back to the right in a high, looping fade kind of shot, which is cool

Left arm straight feels really weird on the back swing, i have to bend it a little at the top or it just feels too unnatural. But that didnt seem to hurt my shot at all, as soon as i come down i bring it straight. That move was giving me really consistently straight shots as long as I didnt pull up and do goofy **** with my weight.
