So, you do plan going to Mid East but you don't like wars?

Has anyone approached you over the internet and promised you a house in Syria?

it might be a tarp

I wrote an article today talking about money and how it is important for a world travel. I've been watching so many vids about world travelers almost broke. Beauty is that they still could world travel, but for instance I remember of this famous YT world traveler (Gabriel) who one day wanted to buy a lonely planet and found a bookstore. But he went out of it cause there were only new books and he wanted to buy a second hand one to buy it cheaper and therefore started to wander all around the town to find one cheaper.

Not judging, to each his own (and this guy is doing really great !), but this is the perfect example of what I don't want my world travel to be. If I see a Lonely Planet and need to buy it, then I will no matter if it's brand new and will cost me $8 more.

I'm very grateful to life that money will not be an issue during that incoming trip so it will make me have choice instead of being obliged to do/not do things because of the lack of money.

Do you really think that one decides to throw out of the window his entire life and travel the road for some undetermined lenght of time just for fun ?
All I was getting at is that you don't have to travel anywhere to break out of a boring routine lifestyle.

Of course, but again, and still as I said it, I dont want to have regrets when I die and I have realized that life is too short, so I want to explore this world that I don't know enough.

100% agree with the cheap ass budget travelers out there. I could never do it. I'd be back home in less than a month, but some of them love it.

I remember reading a tip once on a blog that to save money on food, hang around pizza places and eat what other people leave behind. Basically that makes you a bum.

another great low budget travel tip is:

if you're waiting for a train and not doing anything, just hold out an empty coffee cup and start singing

I will not travel like a balla but won't as a budget traveler neither. There's a balance that can be found between the two.

You should at least have fun, the experience has to be enjoyable and I fail to see how it can be when you're constantly trying to save on everything everyday. Still that Gabriel made a vid once in India where he was trying not to spend more than 10$ for the whole day. The vid was really painful to watch, he was depriving himself on so many petty things just to reach that $10 mark. I'd rather not travel at all rather than do that.

Psycho, at your age and bankroll you shouldn't be buying Lonely Planet guides.

Ok, so Im gonna apply for my stake to a Parx BigStax main or one of the Borgata Open mains now. So when you come to Philly we will have something to do other than touristy stuff. I will run said stake @ 65/35 your way + SB. Railing all substantial swings in a rail thread I put up here. PM for graphs.

Thank you in advance

Seriously dudes, banks suck big time.

I've been waiting for more than a week for a manager from a bank (let's call them "Bank B") to call me so that I can open for good an account. Since I still had no news I wrote on their facebook page today to complain that I was still waiting for someone to call me to finalize the opening of my bank account. Of course, since it makes bad advertising for them, someone replied to me, asking me my infos on MP. Unfortunately when I found out this message on their FB page, it was already late. I still provided the infos but I think I will have to wait until monday now. I want to have this bank because there are no fees when you withdraw at any DAB. My bank however DOES charge fees (3€+2,9% on the amount withdrawn). So this bank B is really interesting ! Hope I will get some news on monday.

Speaking about my own bank I had an appointment last week and made them understand that I was expecting them to do something so that I dont have to pay so many fees while traveling. They got the message I think (I'll leave them if they dont do anything), and the lady told me that she would have to speak with her manager and get back to me next week.

I also had a 3rd appointment with a bank which also doesn't charge fees for overseas withdrawal. She told me how much I should pay each month to have an account to their bank and I asked if they could do something to make this price be better. She told me that she would have to speak with her manager and would get back to me next week as well.

At last, I have a 4th appointment on monday with a fourth bank which also proposes no fees withdrawals. I already know their monthly price and again will ask for a gesture in the case I open an account.

I want to leave with 2 bank cards, that's the reason why I'm putting all those 4 banks in competition, so that I have the best deals. I'm not gonna travel for 1 month, I'm planning to travel for a very long time and fees rise up quite quickly. So the better deal I get, the more money I save in bank fees. And the more I save in bank fees the more I'll spend in others things (more enjoyable than just feeding my banker).

We'll see what happens next week. As soon as I have decided to open a bank account in some of these banks I should receive the cards within 10 days. So fingers crossed, if everything's fine, I should be able to start my journey before 2/1/201

I have to have everything set properly before I leave because after I've left it will be too late. I wish I could travel with $25 000 in my pockets but this is not allowed nor recommended, so I have to use bank cards and they really are pains in the ass.
