Box stop being obsessed with money. I met travelers who were working while traveling, others who only spent $20 a day. You dont have to be rich to world travel !

Saklad this is THE question now. I will write a new article about it today

WORLD TRAVEL PART II : WHERE TO GO ?

As I said in my previous post, I'm back in France to visit my gran mother. But what will I do after ? Where will I go as the second part of my world travel ?

These are the questions which are on my mind now.

To be honest, if I hadn't had my gran mother in France I would have kept on traveling.

2 months in India, 1 month in Malaysia, 1 month in Thailand where I visit several places made me found my travel pace.

After Thailand I had planned to visit Indonesia, then Vietnam, then Australia and so on.

Now, I'm back in France and it sucks because all what had been planned is put on hold.

The gross part is that I could have traveled to Sydney for 150€, Bali for 100€, Ho Chi Minh for 50€. Instead, it cost me 500€ to come back to Paris.

I have no issue paying this to go to paradise, but to go back in France which nowadays is such a mess sucks big time.

Plus the 20 hours to go back. It killed me.

I did it for my gran mother. I love her so much. She is getting old and I had the intuition that I had to see her. Therefore I listened to my instinct and decided from one day to another that I had to go back in France.

On a personal level I'm very happy to be here again and as I'm writting this article, I'm in a room I've rented close to my gran mother's appartement.

We've seen yesterday and today and I will go back to see her in a couple of hours. I'm staying until the end of the week then will go to my house in the country side and will visit her again twice before I leave and for almost 1 week each time.

Seeing how happy she is to be with me again fills my heart with joy and I know that I've done the right thing. I am myself very happy to be with her. I missed her so much.

That being said, world trip wise this coming back puts a mess in all my plans.

I'd been traveling for 4 months and I was ready to move from Thailand to Indonesia. Now I'm back in France again and I don't know where to go.

The only good thing about it is that being back at square 1, I have now new choices.

I mean by that that I'm not obliged to keep on traveling in Asia if I want to go elsewhere. My range of possible countries to visit suddenly expanded. And to be honest, I started to get bored of Asia. So maybe this is not a bad thing after all.

I still can resume my asian world travel where I left it or go in another direction.

If I decide to keep the asian world travel going, Bangkok is the way to go. As a crossroads, it allows me to travel everywhere in this part of the world : from there I can go to Indonesia, Philippins, Australia, Cambodia, Laos.
But because I'm back to square 1 I have others possibilities now. For instance :

-I can decide to road trip in the USA. After all I have a B2 visa which allows me to travel 6 months a year in the USA for the next 10 years. Now, it would cost a lot of money so I have to make my homeworks

- I can decide to travel in Central or South America. I feel now more confident in my solo traveling abilities so this is something I can consider now whereas I couldn't 4 months ago when I started to travel, feeling that I needed more miles under my belt.

- I can start with South Africa. After all this is where I wanted my world travel to start when I created this blog. Going there would allow me afterwards to go to Mauritius, Comores, Mayotte, Reunion Island, Madagascar. All this part of the world is very appealing to me.

-Or I can start slow and travel all over eastern and southern Europe. Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungry, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia etc and also Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal for the southern part.

- Carribean islands too like Cuba, Guadeloupe, Aruba and all that jazz. Pretty pricey but worth a trip I think.

Where I won't go :

-Canada and Northern Europe (UK, Scandinavian countries). Sorry, I hate cold and ****ty weather.

-Australia&NZ : I want to go there but I can't from France since the flight ticket is too expansive.

-Hawai : if I go there it will be because I'm already traveling in the US but for the same reasons as above, I can't go there straight from France

-North Africa : not interested at all.
-Africa : interested in theory but I don't think I'll go there now.

If I go to south America then Brasil or Columbia are the 1st countries which come to my mind.

If I go to central America, Costa Rica should be the 1st stop.

If I road trip in the US, I guess that New York will be the first stop. Unless it is Miami. To be honest I've not thought about this long enough, so I really don't know. But it will be a city on the east coast.

If I go to South Africa then I will start with Le Cap.

If I go back to Asia then as I said it will be Bangkok.

If I travel through eastern Europe, I have no clue since I have many options. Maybe Cracovia since those dudes I met in India talked to me so greatly about this city and its girls

As you see, I have no idea for the moment where I will go. As usual. Only living day by day.

For the moment I enjoy spending times with my gran mother.

To be honest, I found her quite tired and I know that I did what I had to do. She won't live forever and we never know what life has in store for us so maybe this is the last time I see her. Hope not, but if she had to leave, at least I could say that I saw her again.

In the close future I will keep on writting about Thailand because after all you know nothing about what did happen there and a lot did happen.

I repeat that deciding to quit everything has been the best decision I could make and besides articles about the place I did visit I will write some thoughts about what it is really to travel this way.

Thanks for keeping on reading this blog and see you soon !

Nope, big cities in France sucks. You can live well in small towns and villages in the countryside but big cities are horrible. Plus France has too many issues right now with many strikes and others problems. Skip this country if you travel in Europe, believe me.

Avoiding Canada because the winters are harsh would be an error of judgement. Maybe don't come between October and March, and skip the big flat part between the Rockies and the Great Lakes. The rest of it is amazing.

To be fair with Canada I think you might be right. It must be a very beautiful country. Where should I go if I want to be mind blowed by nature ?

Whistler, Lake Louise.

Honestly you should start at Calgary and rent a car. Take the highway in direction of Vancouver and go up north toward Alaska highway.

Thanks ZikZak !

Hmm... seems that Canada takes the lead here. Never really thought about it but I might get interested in it. Even more if I couple it with a road trip in the US.

Oh btw everybody, accomodation wise, how much on average cost a motel room in the US (or Canada) ? I'm aware that I will not find cheap accomodation as in Asia (but tbh, Thailand was quite expensive, I will develop in the next articles), but I'd like not to spend that much if I go there. And I don't want hostels. Too many issues (thieves, lack of privacy etc). So I was considering renting motel rooms.
