Awesome gif thanks for the insightful question.
Let's do a tale of the tape comparison to see why the Seahawks are in fact the better team.
Ownership: Paul Allen is filthy rich he is the 53rd-richest person in the world, no need to go on advantage Seahwks.
Stadium: CenturyLink Field is the loudest outdoor stadium in the NFL, no need to go on advantage Seahawks.
General management, head coach and coaching staff: This is very close no doubt but for the sake of argument and trying to be objective I'll give advantage to S.F. here.
Quaterbacks: Talent I'm going to call a push but this will be revisited in summery.
Wide receivers: Harvin and Crabtree are both on the self for a while although S.F. added Boldin they lack depth here and pale in comparison to Rice, Tate and Baldwin lining up for the Seahawks. Advantage Seattle.
Running game: Lynch over the aging Gore plus the backups point to advantage Seahawks.
Tight end: Zach Miller and rookie Luke Wilson are very solid for Seattle but VD earns advantage SF.
Offensive line: The Niners are strong here but Russell Okung and Max Unger both are coming off break out years and are elite players advantage Seahawks.
Defensive line while Seattle added key free agents here the Niners are proven at the pass rush advantage S.F.
Linebackers: While the Seahawks have promising young players like Wanger and Wright the Niners have stars in Smith and Willis advantage S.F.
Cornerbacks: Advantage Seahawks with all of the defensive backfield being pro bowlers in the past two seasons plus the addition of Winfield from the Vikings. Advantage Seahawks.
Special teams: Seattle let Leon Washington go to save cap room, advantage S.F.
So overall just a slight advantage to the Seahawks but you might say well things like ownership don't matter regarding this season it's a push or S.F. is better. Allow me to revisit the QB situation.
While Colin might have all the tools needed to play the game he lacks the leadership intangible that Wilson has ( You'll never see Wilson wearing another NFL teams cap unless it's for charity or something not to the beach LOL )and that is the difference maker as to why the Seahawks will win the NFC west this season.
