Re: Happy Thoughts

The OOT crew is jerky. I do enjoy the weirdos and the crazed, but some of them are a little too giddy at laying on the abuse.

Re: Happy Thoughts

Lol...thanks guys.

I had a couple more good encounters last week at work.

There was a guy I hadn't seen around much, but he was always waving and smiling at me. He is in his 60's or I would have thought he liked me. Anyway, he finally came toe and talked to me the other day. He had previously worked for our company for 25years and came back. Really great guy. He plays the guitar and was talking to me about his different guitars, his grown daughters, and his about his wife passing away. Most of all he was talking about how appreciative he was for working at our company for so long and being able to come back.

I was working with a mechanic I had never really talked to or worked with last Friday and he told me that I looked different in the best way and that I seem happier than before. This made me feel really good and gives me hope I can completely come out of this mental illness and be happy. I must have looked so depressed before when I first started this job. I'm still having episodes, but there is a huge difference in my mind from a year ago.

Re: Happy Thoughts

So it turns out this guy really really likes me. If he sees me, he follows me.
Last week I was using a microscope and trying to focus and he came and stood so close to me where I could feel him brush against me. From the corner of my eye I could see him starting at my ear.

He just bought a house and has told me about it twice now and how he has a hot tub.

Today he followed me outside, so I had polite conversation with him. He plays guitar and likes to talk about that a lot, so I mentioned maybe he could teach me at lunch sometimes. He lost it with excitement and grabbed and held my hand and said, "oh darling, I would live to!"

Re: Happy Thoughts

I've been contemplating doing something that will occupy my mind and keep me from focusing on negative things. I think I'm going to write a novel. I have all these world's in my head already and daydream a lot to cope....might as well write it all down. I've started painting again and that has helped occupy my mind some, but it isn't enough and I want to do more. I find I like coming up with the concept of a painting more that I actually like executing it and get stuck when I can't figure out the angles/shadows. I just want to be so busy being creative that there is no room to dwell on anything negative.

I'm thinking of posting chapters here as I complete them. I'll do my best with spell checking, but my Grammer needs improvement. I would appreciate if there isn't any trolling in this regards and just feedback.

MLYLT,

grammar, not Grammer.

worlds, not world's.

this regard, not this regards.

I'd be happy to provide some feedback if you post something

Re: Happy Thoughts

Cool, thanks Fabian.
I got my characters, basic premise, and setting lined out last night.

There will be 6 main characters, 2 of which are the antagonist. The idea in a nutshell is to mimic the symmetry's of a hexagon in their relationships and the strength of it's shape in regards to the society will be the underlying theme throughout. Their perceptions/feelings will rotate throughout, but a balance will be maintained because it is the natural order.
I'm not throughly explaining it....we'll just have to see how it unfolds.

Re: Happy Thoughts

You could be queen of health and fitness. Do it here, we would all follow.

What keeps you from focusing on negative things and keeps you busy, is exercise. You have all the typical excuses. My back. My shoulder. Softball (that's not exercise). And the whole time the pool is there waiting for you.

Re: Happy Thoughts

Queen of the forum that exiled me, no thanks.
I don't want to post about my weightless anymore. I will maybe update on monthly progress, but that's about it.

This blog will just be for positive things and creativity.

Not sure that's enough emphasis, actually.

Re: Happy Thoughts

You didn't get exiled, you were allowed to post again in your thread under a certain condition - but by the tone of your last post it sounds like you have no intention of doing so.

Shame. It's a shame for you, and a shame for your daughter. I hope you seek therapy soon/eventually, if not for your sake, for hers.

It's not about succefully writing a novel. It's about having a project that keeps my mind occupied, gets me excited, and puts me in a creative mindset.

Re: Happy Thoughts

Hi MLYLT, I respect that you want to have a happy place to retreat to IMO, any poster in this thread should first think "What would Bob Ross say?" in respect to what kind of thing to post, and spoiler anything else. You know, happy little tree painting dude. Here is a nice list of happy quotes from the stress-relief master!

Good luck with your writing! Sounds like an interesting concept, and hope that the process to flesh out the plot/characters is soothing and not stressful

Writing a novel is a huge undertaking. Have you written any shorter fiction before?

Re: Happy Thoughts

I have. I used to write short stories a bit for fun, but not since my teens or early 20s if that counts.

About 3 years ago, I saw an English teacher I had when I was about 13. She asked what I ended up doing and was shocked that I was an engineer because she just knew I would be a writer from all the writing I constantly did when I was younger. I always had stories and worlds in my head because it's how I copied when I was young. I'm not sure why my grammer is so atrocious because I was an avid reader and writer when I was young.

Re: Happy Thoughts

Honestly, I would try posting a few paragraphs here or in OOT to get a feel for your current writing level / style and to gauge reaction before embarking on some kind of magnum opus.

I'm not saying that creative writing doesn't have some kind of intrinsic value in the execution, but if you want to improve then these forums may be of some value.
