Doc, you know Executive Orders are regularly done by presidents. Obama has, as of Aug 20, 2015, done 216 of them, Dubyuh 291, Slick Willie 364, Gipper 381, Ike 484, Harry 907, FDR 3721.

And really, Denali is the name given the mountain by the indigenous people of the area. It wasn't named McKinley until 1917. The best thing McKinley did was to get himself killed so that Teddy Roosevelt could take over. He has his picture on the $500 bill and a bunch of schools named after him.

I know where the original name came from and I would have no problem with it being called that IF Congress was the one to change it.

However, I don't think the change back to Denali is insulting to the people of Ohio.

It was named Mt. McKinley with the Mount McKinley National Park Act of February 26, 1917. The park was renamed in 1980 when it was combined with Denali National Monument to Denali National Park and Preserve. There was no congressional bill. If it took an act of Congress to get anything done right, well I don't think anything gets done, right?

Doc, I'm afraid your pipe dream of Congress doing the right thing is fantasy.

WPTLeague Online - 403 started/finished 36th. I took myself out when I pushed all in preflop with AKo. I say that because I didn't need to push all in due to my chipstack.

Starting today, I will be baching it two out of the next three weeks. It is going to mean a lot of reading, a lot of TV watching, or a lot of poker. Haven't decided which.

I think today is going to be a lot of sleeping. Both smoke detectors kept beeping due to low batteries. One was a soft beep followed by a female voice that announced "low battery." The other, next to our bedroom, had a loud screeching beep.

Tomorrow will probably be playing the league tourney online during the afternoon and then a casino tournament tomorrow night.

Tonight has left me conflicted.

For a change of pace, I played Ameristar's bounty tournament. Over seventy entrants, I finished better than about half the field, and I took two people out.

I am conflicted because I like Harrahs' tournaments, but I enjoyed my time at Ameristar.

Now I know what a man dating two women at the same time feels like.

Speaking of women, the wife is coming home Friday and I will have two surprises for her. Well, three if I straighten up the house.

If the reverse finish a few nights ago was weird, it got weirder tonight.

WPTLeague Central - 89 started and I finished 27th while the wife finished 12th. We both went out on preflop shoves holding pocket queens. I lost to a rivered set of sevens while the wife lost to rivered trip fours.

Finished eighth out of thirty plus people in the charity game last night. We're self dealt and I had high hand of the night when dealing as I flopped quad deuces. The next time I dealt, I lost that distinction as the player to my right ended up with quad fours.

Just got done playing WPTLeague Online. 437 started and I finished 39th.

My car's radio shows what song/artist I am listening to and as the song started, I thought I was listening to Kid Rock's All Summer Long, but it was some song named Werewolves of London by some guy named Warren Zevon.

Does the legendary Kid Rock know he is being ripped off by some Johnny Come Lately named Zevon?

This Zevon better hope Rock doesn't sue him and make him wish he were dead.

Thirty years ago, I was a new father to a baby girl who was over eight pounds at birth. Today, that now grown up baby gave birth to a baby boy who was over eight pounds.

I can't wait for this Saturday when I will get to see him for the first time.

Less importantly, the Royals won the World Series thirty years ago and today they kept their quest for another title alive.

Got to see the grandson twice yesterday. First time, he stayed asleep despite being passed around. The second time, he woke up when I was holding him and I know he is going to make a good poker player because I couldn't read him at all.
