What a difference a few days make.

I am still weak but doing better and have actually decided to try to play the second event.

Have you ever known something, but not really thought about it? Well, that is the way it is with what I went through. I have had to make some lifestyle changes and some will be temporary but others will be permanent.

Had I really thought about it, I would have engaged in some things one last time before the surgery.

Got to make a nice memory today as I was fortunate enough to meet Greg Raymer at Ameristar. Super personable and super approachable.

Supposed to have a follow up medical appointment this morning, but I am really chillin'. As in cold.

Of course, my wife would have my ass in the hospital.

Sutures look good and healing is taking place. Issue turned out to be I'm not getting enough nutrients.

Puh.... Good, that at least one is reasonable

Just got back from Kansas City Comic Con where I got to renew the aquaintance with Steve Lightle and his wife. Even better, my wife went with me. She wasn't going to go but she remembered how I would take her to my favorite places when we were first dating so she wanted to somewhat relive those days. She said she had fun and was glad she went.

I got sketchbooks from Kevin Nowlin, a poster from Michael Golden, two posters from Mike Zeck, and a poster from Neal Adams. The last three posters feature Captain America and will be going to the grandson.

I also got a semi-matching set of Japanese swords. Semi-matching because the cloth of the long sword is blue and gold while the cloth of the short sword is blue and silver. The design is the same for both.

Made an error in the post above. Actually going to play the first event, but going to play on the second starting day.

Played WPTLeague Online last night. Out of four hundred sixty-five people, I finished eighty-nineth.

Just got done playing WPTLeague Online and out of 462 people, I finished 20th.

I found this ironic. The US has complained to Turkey about its border and how it needs to secure it better.

Let us ignore that this family is just one family, let us ignore this guy is just one guy. Let us ignore the writer is prejudiced against Christians after all, if people are anti-Christian bigots that's okay.

Let us ignore all the Christians raised in Christian homes that weren't on Ashley Madison or haven't cheated in their marriage.

WPTLeague Online Central Region - 97 started/finished 5th.

WPTLeague Online - 420 started/finished 90th.

This past week, I ran into a friend who told me unfortunate news about a mutual friend. Since seeing either of them, the mutual friend had been in a bike accident and was in a wheelchair. And for whatever reason, insurance wasn't covering the cost of a wheelchair.

To help out, a poker tournament is being held today. As I have done pretty good in tournaments this month, I told the wife I was donating one night's winning. In response, she got two tickets and a parking pass to the Chiefs' home opener plus a $50 AMC giftcard. We finally decided to donate the two ringside seats to a WWE house show.

I went to a bar poker tournament run by the same company who will be running the charity tournament and I saw several people I hadn't seen in months plus a couple of friends I hadn't seen in years. All know the friend in the wheelchair, all are coming today, and some have donated items.

The best thing is the tournament is being held in the same building as where I made some of my favorite bar poker memories. It is now a different restaurant, but a lot of people will be those who played in the original restaurant.

The reason is sad, but it will be nice to see the people come together.

A lot has been made of people being divided especially along racial lines, but you saw none of that today. The young and the old, the rich and the poor, men and women, black and white all came together in this time of need for a very nice couple.

I was really proud of my wife when her donation of Chiefs tickets went for more than twice their value.

As we were leaving, our injured friend told us how we had blessed him. No, we who know him are the ones who are blessed.

Once again our glorious leader is ruling by presidential edict.

I have two issues with this.

The first is this mountain was named McKinley by an act of Congress. Congress should be the one to rename it.

The second is I don't think ANY president should do an end run around Congress.

It will be interesting to see what any Democrats in Congress, who aren't complaining about Obama, do if the next Republican president rules by executive order.

It was supposed to be top eight that got paid in the charity tournament, but the TD notified us that it ended up being top nine. The wife tied for nineth out of seventy-nine so she cashed and we told the TD to give the money to our friends.
