If there is an idiot of the week contest somewhere, I'd nominate this guy.

As we are driving home last night, I see a car several car lengths ahead of me and wondering to myself why the guy isn't slowing down because there is a red light ahead and it has been red for some time.

He gets to the intersection and t-bones someone who had a green arrow. I never saw brake lights once from the guy.

Already found my idiot of the week yesterday. Traffic was bumper to bumper and a guy in an Escalade decided he shouldn't have to wait so he drove on the shoulder. Got back in for about a minute and then went back to driving on the shoulder.

As there is a hospital a couple of miles down the road in the direction of travel, I thought he might be a doctor but he turned off on a road that lead to retail shops.

I guess JC Penney was having a sale he didn't want to miss.

At the old place, we had deer crossing roads near it. At the new place, we have deer playing in our backyard.

I testify in court next week on this.

If gender and sex are different and it is what's on the inside that counts, why do many transgendered people seek to acquire the physical characteristics of the opposite sex?

If Jenner really wanted to show courage and further the discussion on gender, the male characteristics should have been kept and she should have come out and said "I am a woman. Deal with it."

When using Jenner's first name, I will be using Caitlyn because people have a right to change their name and I am known irl by a name I have chosen as opposed to my birth name.

Just as Jenner screwed up on a chance to really push the discussion on trans issues, I think President Obama missed a chance to further the talk on race.

Given he doesn't look like the stereotypical white male, he should have said, "I'm white. Deal with it."

Or at the very least acknowledge his multi-racial background every chance he got.

Heard Frank DeFord on NPR this morning ranting about the MLB All Star balloting unfairness. He ignored some very important facts. 1) Fans have been selecting the starting line up for a very long time. 2) Except for the NFL Pro Bowl, fans have some sort of input in all the "all star" games of the major leagues (baseball, basketball, hockey) in this country. 3) Taking voting out of the hands of the fans will not guarantee the "best" players will be selected. Managers, when allowed to pick the teams, have selected their own players over more deserving players. 4) When voting was just in the stadiums, players on teams who had high attendance had a better chance of making the team. 5) It is a popularity contest and not a contest to recognize the best players.

So, what you're saying is that each team should craft their own trojan to have all the computers in their market area vote 35 times by each resident of that household/business for each of their players. It's obvious that is what happened in KC.

In terms of that, ballot box stuffing isn't new.

I'm originally from Chicago. I know what it is. It's using a physical resource that is issued in finite quantities. Controlling the use of that finite resource is the essence of ballot box stuffing. Electrons are hardly finite. Trojans aren't in the hands of most people. If the league keeps the current system, every team will be required to employ trojans to keep up. Hell, lets let the players bulk up with roids and put up obscene numbers. Then we can have the trojans get votes tallied from Upper Volta and Monrovia.

All I'm saying is they should use a different system.

I have been pretty open on here, but I have been keeping a secret. No, I am not going to be the next Bruce, excuse me Caitlyn, Jenner. And I am not going to reveal I was raised a poor black child.

I have not been well for a number of years and haven't been following doctor's orders. Well, things have come to a head and I'll be having surgery on Wednesday. As with any surgery, there is a chance for complications including death.

So if I don't show back up a week from Wednesday, you know I didn't make it. Yes, I have a few days until Wednesday, but I wanted to get this posted.

If I don't make it through, I wanted you to know it has been fun.

I made it through the surgery, but the way I felt after I think the cure was worse than the disease. Now I know what a pro boxer feels like as I felt beat up.

Gave my wife a few anxious moments as they had trouble waking me and keeping me awake after the surgery.

I should be able to do a lot of things fairly quickly, but I won't be able to do some things for a year and I have to worry about infection and rejection. I am on five short term medications. And I will have a number of follow up appointments. Thank goodness for paid time off.

I'd like to thank you all for the well wishes, my wife for reading 2plus2 threads to me while I couldn't, and thanks to the person who made the surgery financially possible. I do have health insurance, but it was/is still expensive and without this person I couldn't have afforded it.

Won't have much energy, but I do plan on still playing one event on the HPT next month. With doctor approval.

I am a little sad that I didn't take better care of myself and had to have a replacement for some original equipment.

But after the healing, my quality of life should be so much better.

Really should be going to bed, but having trouble falling asleep probably due to the amount of sleep I have gotten since Wednesday.

I will keep that in mind.

I got up this morning, took my pills, got in the shower (first time since surgery), and got sick. I think it may have been due to the heat of the water.

I am now sitting on my couch watching Jaws.
