The people are definitely on meth and maybe something else. They have been up at least 2 days and nights.

They were out in the hallway and parking lot sifting through cardboard boxes. The guy had one open in the hallway (still there). An assortment of socks and trash inside.

Neither of them acknowledged our presence. They look like zombies.

Our other neighbor said the guard came again last night. Apparently there were pill bottles all over the hallway. The guard told the guy they had talked the night before but the guy had no clue.

They are supposed to be out by the 30th so we'll just hope they don't burn the place down.

So I should cross Tampa off the 'places to retire' list?

mark was close. The correct answer is a fireman's pole.

Seriously, sorry to hear you have to go through this. Hopefully they move along as scheduled.

Despite stories like this, people continue to sneer at those who live in trailers.

We decided to sleep in the guest bedroom last night. It is on the other side of the house from the offending "neighbors". It was much much quieter but you could still hear them. The guy showed up around midnight and they (or he) were in and out all night. For the life of me I can't figure out when he possibly sleeps. Maybe he goes somewhere else and sleeps all day? Anyway, it was much less of a problem in the other room. I finally got a somewhat decent night's sleep.

The cars were gone this morning by 6:00 AM. The owner told me this was supposed to be their moving day but it hasn't been 30 days. Fingers crossed.

I don't think the methheads sleep. Based on extensive watching of Breaking Bad.

Good luck.

The hits keep coming.

We installed some really good windows last year so we were unaware of all of this but my other upstairs neighbor just filled me in.

Apparently the guy and girl (not the first girl) got in a fight in the parking lot last night. The guards came and told her to leave. In the mean time, she filled in my neighbor on the latest. Apparently the guy has a rich daddy and gets everything he wants. He paid cash for a lexus (not the one we see) and wrecked it almost immediately. Got another one (the one we do see) and somehow hasn't kept up with something because the dealership reported it stolen.

Neither car is here but I heard someone upstairs. A guy came out with a backpack but he doesn't look like the same guy to me.

Oh, and one more thing. That box that was in the hall. My neighbor checked it out. Loaded gun clip. Just what a meth head needs.

The lease is up on the 31st (tomorrow). After that I think police will be involved.

trick i used on some tenants that were druggies. i told them "the police were investigating
and they are planning a raid real soon. i thought i would give you a headsup first so you could prepare."

they were gone soon.

I exchanged emails with the owner. She told me that nobody would be staying there for a couple of months. She also indicated that they won't rent to anyone under 50 again and will be more diligent checking references. I would prefer they sell but they don't seem to want to.

Meanwhile.......

The guy apparently drank at the clubhouse all day and stumbled in around 9ish. Up all night again. The girlfriend was parked outside the gate (same clothes on) waiting for him. They wouldn't let her in.

Hopefully he leaves today. If not, I'll be calling the guards to remove him.

I tried that once. I told them that the cops had been by asking about them. They told me they weren't afraid of cops. Coincidentally they got busted that night. By the Rangers.

That post brings back memories. Madeline Murray used to shop at the grocery store I worked at. She always came in with her son. Both were complete slobs and she was a cranky old *****.

It ain't over til' it's over

The guy that owns the place upstairs has a guy that cleans between renters. He showed up today and I thought I would talk to him.

Then a lady showed up who I assumed was a realtor.

They were upstairs for a while and then she came out. I thought I would try to find out if this was getting rented again. She burst out in tears and said she couldn't talk.

I went upstairs and knocked on the door. The cleaner guy said she was a family member and they were dealing with a drug problem (duh). Turns out the guy left all his stuff up there and they are making arrangements to get it. No telling what she saw that triggered her.

Meth lab? I hope not, for your sake.

There was a condo near me that went through that a couple years back. It was completely sealed up for quite some time, warnings posted not to enter, that sort of thing. My understanding is it was very difficult to get straight again.

Best of luck. Hope it ends up not affecting you guys and things get smoothed out.

I believe this might be the last post on the matter........

A locksmith arrived to change the locks. Later the cleaner guy knocked on our door to give us a spare key. The owner gave us one quite some time ago and now we have the new one.

I'm not sure exactly what the story is but we believe it goes something like this.

The original guy and girl apparently did not stay long. We think both left and the original guy told his cousin he could stay there. This makes sense because the next guy showed up in the middle of the night without a key trying to explain to the guards that he belonged there.

I had assumed it was the same guy but I only saw the first guy once and I couldn't really identify him. Both were sort of nondescript dudes.

The lady I made cry turns out to be the mother of the second guy. The father also showed up later and they packed the guy's stuff up and left. The cleaner told us they flew in from West Virginia to deal with this.

The guards were alerted that under no circumstances was this guy allowed back on the property.

Covid is running through the facility where my wife works. At least 10 tested positive today. They sent 2 to the hospital this week. Not sure about who amongst them were vaccinated
but the two in the hospital definitely were not.

In response the facility is no longer allowing non vaccinated workers in the building. About damn time. It continues to boggle my mind how resistant health care workers are to get vaccinated.

The stupidity of the human race never ceases to amaze me.

Just got back from visiting Boston. Technically, Chelmsford.

We flew over New York which was pretty cool. Got a bird's eye view of the city.

Our first night we went to a comedy club to watch Jessica Kirson. I had never heard of her. Absolutely hilarious. She had everyone rolling. If you get a chance to see her, do it.

Our second day (more on our first day later) we went to an orchard. Apples, grapes, raspberries and blueberries all for the pickin'. We got 2 bags of macintosh and one bag of my favorite honey crisp. We munched on apples every day and brought a suitcase full of them home. The TSA dude gave us a weird look. We also got a couple boxes of raspberries which my wife made a pie with. YUM!

The orchard was beautiful.

I guess I'm mostly drawn to any sort of animal life I normally don't see.

Pretty blue bird.

Kinda hard to see but they have red squirrels up there. Much smaller than the squirrels we have here. They look like baby squirrels to me.

We had quite the debate about wasps. The guy we stayed with insisted these were yellow jackets. Then he had some other wasps coming out of the ground in his garden that he insisted were yellow jackets. Neither looked anything like the yellow jackets I'm used to. Anyway, here's a honker of a wasp nest in his back yard. He's opposed to using poison so there it is.

Never see chipmunks where I live either.

I have to mention this. It is the laziest dog I've ever seen. The only time he moved from this position was when his owner made him.

Random cool covered bridge.

By far the highlight of our trip was a whale watching excursion. My wife's daughter set this up. She had originally picked a different place but she got wind that we watch Wicked Tuna so she booked a trip out of Gloucester.

First some random pics.

This is a schooner that you can book a trip on. I'm not sure if you actually help with the sails or not. Seemed kinda cool.

This is the building where they weigh the tunas on wicked tuna.

I have to mention the tuna boats. They are catching these monster tuna only about 6 or 7 miles offshore. Not fair. I have to go 30 to catch nothing like that.

Anyways, back to the main event.

My expectation for this was somewhat low. I've heard that you can go on these whale watching tours and never see a whale. Right away we spotted a couple so it was already successful.

I figured this was what it would be like. They were about 50 or so yards away.

Then it got crazy. A mother and her calf came right to the boat. Like, touching the boat. They stayed there about 15 minutes. It was insane. One of the coolest things I've ever seen.

The girls leading the tour were actually marine biologists who tracked and catalogued these whales. Out there almost every day. She said that this almost never happens.

Pretty cool trip all in all.

Awesome whale trip! I've been on several in San Diego and Washington and none that close. We did have a school of 100s of dolphins stay with us for a long time on one of them that was really cool.

We have an acquaintance who is a trauma nurse. She's seen everything and is pretty tough.

Covid broke her. I take that back. People's utter stupidity broke her.

Like all the stories you hear, she's been working ridiculous hours because of the surge of patients. This alone wears on you.

A couple of weeks ago she had 4 patients die. All in their 20s. One of them asked her to "please don't let me die".

It pushed her over the edge. She is no longer working. She left town to live with her parents to try to mentally recover.

You hear about these sort of stories all the time, but this one is a little more personal for me.

All of this is 100% preventable.
