wiferboat?

ring looks great.

That sounds like a horrible situation with the wife. Not really much you can do other than be supportive I guess.

wiferboat is good. Thanks!

Yeah, I'm hoping it doesn't get worse but I suspect it will be ongoing.

Minor work rant......

I've been given this super duper top priority has to be done yesterday project. As usual, the reason it is so urgent is that it has been sitting on the shelf for over 6 months and now some muckety muck is complaining. So, due to management incompetence once again, I'm paying the price.

We talked about a timeline and came up with a qa delivery date of 2/16. My learning curve with this application and the business is pretty steep but I've made good progress and have indicated such.

Because I've made good progress, management has decided that they will add a bunch more "stuff" to be done and shorten the timeline by a week. Probably impossible but this is what they do.

I
HATE
THIS
PLACE

Polly was a pirate reference btw. Biggerboat-pirate-bird/wife-Polly. I probably should have been clearer. It wasn't intended to be an insult in anyway.

I'm officially married.

We went to the county offices this morning. The girl that took our application just happened to be the one that took care of it today. She was great.

They have a little "wedding conference room" she officially married us in. It is quite romantic, wouldn't you say?

We said some stuff and exchanged rings, and it was done. We celebrated by having a nice breakfast, opening a joint bank account, and having married people sex.

We have a photographer coming this evening to take some official pictures. Then we'll have a nice dinner followed by some Dom Perrignon, courtesy of my sister. All in all a pretty good day, I'd say.

While we were at the bank, some woman backed into my truck. I saw it happen. She took off and I ran out the door and caught her while she was trying to leave the parking lot. I banged on her window and she refused to roll it down, just shaking her head. WTF is wrong with people?

No damage at all, but geez. I got her license plate number and I'm going to report her. Probably nothing happens but I'm going to at least go through the motions.

Now to the important stuff. My boat has been delayed at least 2 weeks. Apparently, Yamaha is having backlog problems. Or the dealer is making **** up. I dunno. I may have to change my sn to noboat or boatless or something.

Also, thanks guys!

Retirement most certainly will not happen next month. I don't have a new target yet. I need to let the dust settle.

One more expense is upcoming. The artist is very close to finishing my book. Everything I've seen so far is fantastic. I'm excited.

I signed all of the trust documents today. I'm a little annoyed at the lawyer for not explaining everything to me properly.

When I first went to her I specifically asked her about signing this before vs. after being married. She told me it didn't matter and suggested it would be better to wait. However, by Florida law, I cannot put my house (homestead) into the trust after I'm married without a spouse signature. I kinda wanted to avoid something like that, although biggerwife was there and was fine with signing the document.

I also found out that retirement accounts are treated differently than everything else. I also specifically asked about this and was told that it is all the same. It turns out that you cannot put retirement accounts into a trust. You have to name the trust the beneficiary so they don't become part of the trust until I die. This is due to IRS regulations. A trust can't "retire", only a person can. The main reason, as I understand it, has to do with minimum required distributions at 70 1/2. It gets much more complicated when I die for whoever has to deal with it. Ugh

All in all it was a bit draining. 2 1/2 hours of legal "stuff". But I got a nice fancy trust binder with my name on it!

Nice! What was the lawyer's response about telling you there's no difference previously?

I didn't really press it much. Ultimately it doesn't change anything I don't think. I have a pet peeve about surprises like this. And the boat surprise - post to come.

I'm just amazes sometimes with the complete lack of customer service that seems to be pervasive.

I ordered my boat before Christmas. The dealer told me it would be here end of January, beginning of February.

Since I hadn't heard anything at all, I decided to give him a call Feb 8. He told me it was going to be delayed 2 weeks. The reason he gave was a Yamaha (motor) backlog.

It has been two weeks and I still haven't heard from him. So, I decided to call the dealer directly. He told me that the boat was scheduled to be delivered on March 1. This has never changed. He told me there was no Yamaha backlog at all. Nothing has been delayed. He said they make it clear to the dealers upon ordering what day they get delivered and he said they rarely miss.

So, I called the manager of the dealership and gave him an earful. I'm not sure where we go from here.

My suspicion is that the guy I've been working with simply forgot to submit the order on time and the date wasn't the same as would have been if he had done so. He also told me he would follow up with the manufacturer which he obviously did not.

I have a little more detectiving to do, but I suspect he's lied to me about other things.

More to come.
