Tonights dinner:

Those are not mashed potatoes. They are like it, but no potatoes were harmed in the making of this food. It is cauliflower mashers and they are excellent!

Recipe:

Ingredients
1-1/2 large heads cauliflower
3/4 cup full fat canned coconut milk
3 Tbs coconut oil
2/3 cup fresh chives
3 cloves garlic
2 tsp dried rosemary or 1 sprig fresh rosemary
sea salt, pepper to taste

Instructions
1. Roughly chop the cauliflower, removing all leaves.
2. Place in steamer and cook until it’s easy to stick a fork in it (about 20
minutes).
3. Mince the garlic and finely chop the chives. Sauté the garlic, chives and
rosemary in coconut oil until the garlic is light golden brown.
4. Use a food processor or a masher to mash up the steamed cauliflower
florets.
5. Put the mashed florets into a pot on the stove and add coconut milk, and the chive and garlic mixture. Cook on medium low heat
and mash with a masher while they’re in the pot. Or if you have a
submergible blender, use that to blend mixture while it’s in the pot.
6. Add sea salt and pepper to taste.

Chicken is:

Ingredients
2 Tbs garlic, minced
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
2 Tbs cold water
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp raw honey
1/2 lemon, cut into 1/4" slices
1 Tbs dried oregano
1 Tbs dried rosemary
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 Tbs sea salt (optional)
1 small chicken, quartered (or 1 lb of boneless, skinless chicken breasts)
Instructions
Combine all ingredients, except chicken, in a medium bowl to form marinade.
Place chicken in a large dish or ziploc bag and pour marinade over chicken.
Marinate overnight.
The next day, remove chicken from marinade.
Preheat broiler to high.
Place chicken on a roasting rack (or wire cooling rack) on top of a rimmed baking sheet on top rack of oven. Broil 5 minutes.
Next, place chicken on middle oven rack, change oven temperature to 350° F and bake for 20 minutes (or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165° F).
Serve with a side or salad (we went asparagus).

Holy NFL Gamboooool a-Thon, Batman.

Today seems the day to book NFL bets.

Right now I have:

KC at 6 and under total wins on the season
Seattle at 9 wins and over
SF at 12 wins and under
Matt Ryan v Peyton Manning most FF points in the first 3 weeks

I'm sure I'll end up booking a few more today.

Mashed cauliflower =da nutz. That's one hella complicated recipe though. I just do cauliflower, milk, chix stock, parmesan.

Woke up this morning feeling sick as all hell but went to work anyways. I'm bought to pop some NyQuil and call it a night. Everything around me is getting on my nerves. The heat, the dog, people in the forum, and the list goes on. I could probably punch something right now. Don't worry though, I can't punch heat, I won't hit my dog, and its a damn shame people are on the internets and can't be punched.

I'm out for the night. Peace in the Middle East, rain in Spain.

This week on paleo we are not following the menu. We have so much leftover paleo type foods that we plan on just going with the flow. I think it's actually going to be pretty easy. I am going to watch the scale to see what happens.

Played a sesh last night were I was up 700 ish really quick... and then watched it dwindle away by second bested and whiffing a ton. I still came up, but it almost feels like a loss. Couple that feeling with needing some sleep and I pretty much feel like aids.

Breakfast this morning-

Apple
Banana
Scrambled eggs with ham and avocado.

Pretty interesting story as I am getting those eggs from the work cafeteria. I hear the chef ask another guy if he caught the final table. I am pretty tight with the chef so I go ahead and ask what he means by final table knowing full well he meant poker. He confirms and says he used to play for a living in LV. He asks if I know any games in town. Shhhhhhhhhh*******************. Yeah, just a few buddy. I tell him of one tonight and as a poker player I spot all the classic tells. He perks up, eyes wide open, lips/cheeks tighten into a real quick smile... oh and my degen radar goes off:

Bee-doo Bee-doo Bee-doo! (yeah my radar sounds like the Minions from Despicable Me)

-Degen Spotted at 12 o'clock sir, how do we approach.

-Invite him to the game Lieutenant.

We plan to talk at lunch...

So I think the dude is FOS a little. LOL. I think he thinks I give a damn if he is a superstar and I don't. He may have played for a living at some point, but I am not so sure to the extent he was talking about. That's my read anyways. I will invite him to the game. If he starts cold calling 4bets with J2o we will know.

LOL... I'll stay cool with him.

After last nights late session of Michael Jackson The Experience (my daughter wanted to play at midnight... I can't say no ) I decided to weigh myself this morning and boom! Down 12lbs now and officially in the 170's and BMI is now in normal territory. I am only 5 weeks into this. I really did not think I would lose weight this fast, but I am. At first it worried me a little losing that quick, but I feel fine health wise and never starving or anything. I guess my body is reacting very well to it. Not eating a bunch of carbs and sugar crap is helping out a ton. I keep saying I need to start doing some kind of workout, but really now is the time. I need to make time for it, which is hard to do right now, but can be done.

Oh, I know. The Plateau and everything else. I will level out sooner or later, this is the fastest I have lost though. I was amazed because I am older now and it technically should be harder to lose weight. When I was 27 I couldn't lose weight like this. I am going to keep an eye on it just to see where it starts to slow down. Remember, I still have not taken part in traditional exercise. It's all been whatever I do at work and a softball game here and there.... Oh and MJ The Experience...

Took the dog to obedience training tonight followed by the poker game. My daughter wanted to tag along and hang out with me on her last day of summer. Ship it. She knows I play poker. So we get to poker and I get into a war with an idiot who thinks he is the best player ever. He wins a pot by sucking out he has an excuse. You win a pot off him you are a lucky player who plays bad. So he gets pissed at me and we go back and forth. I'm keeping it toned down though and really making jokes out of it. People are laughing at what I am saying because its very light. I'm playing like a maniac because the table is nitty. Up and down I am. Then he makes a comment about being a real good role model by talking crap to him in front of my daughter. I'm like, "Yep, that's how I roll!" Look back at my daughter and say can I get that father of the year award and she laughs. I am stuck and we are about to leave. Tell my daughter to come play. One of the last hands she squeezes pocket kings and looks at me and smiles. I have to tell her to be quiet and we smirk at each other. She knows she can't say anything. Long story short the dude I want in the pot doubles her up and I slip her half the profit and she's high fiving me. I let it be known that she played the hand and left. Got home and played video games with my daughter and had a blast.

Yeah, that's how we roll!

So how was MJ? It wasn't even the best part. The best part was hanging out with my daughter until midnight doing whatever the heck we wanted to do!

Interesting thing I came across yesterday. I am big into self awareness and the MBTI personality test. When I first came across the test about a year ago (maybe) I tested as ESFP. I took it again and again and again. All ESFP. My F was always low, everything else very well defined. I read through the types and there was one that I thought I identified with more so than anything else, ESTP. Last night I retook the test in I don't know how long. This time I took a good amount of time on it and I changed how I thought about the test. Before I was thinking about previous moments in my life that may have happened as far back as 10 years ago. I also wasn't to high on myself in a few areas (intellect, emotions, and maybe one or two other areas). Right now I am in a pretty good place. I have removed a lot of distractions that were bringing me down and my outlook on life is more positive than ever.

This time around I cleared my mind of past memories unless they were somewhat recent (a year or less). I also cleared my mind of what I thought others thought of me. I think that was a huge mistake the first time around. I over analyzed what people thought of me, thus causing me to be down on myself in the areas mentioned above. So I tested and received the same E S and P scores that I usually get, but this time I scored a T. It was a low T just like I usually get a low F, but it was a T.

What I concluded was I have some ESFP traits, but I also share ESTP traits and IMO I am more ESTP than ESFP from what I have read. I ended up taking the test on a different site with different questions and ESTP came up again.

ESFP:

Source: http://www.16personalities.com/esfp-personality

For ESFP personalities, life is a never-ending party. ESFPs love being in the center of attention and enjoying even the simplest things – their fun and impulsive nature is usually very attractive to other people. People with this personality type never run out of ideas and their curiosity is insatiable – they will always be among the first to try something new and exciting.

ESFPs love communicating with other people and can spend hours upon hours chatting about various topics. There is no clearer tell-tale of an ESFP than the fact that someone has just spent the last hour talking about everything but the topic that was supposed to be the main reason for the conversation. Not surprisingly, this personality type tends to be very popular in the company of extraverted types.

ESFP personalities live in the world of opportunities and savor the pleasures, dramas and ideas that life throws at them. They are immersed in a never-ending performance, trying to cheer other people up. ESFPs are extremely talented at making other people feel good and excited, and they enjoy this immensely. The earthly and often unique wit of ESFPs is a perfect symbol of their playfulness.

ESFPs have a highly developed aesthetical sense and this is one of their strongest personality traits. This type of person will enjoy creating well-decorated surroundings and recognize the value of quality in many other things.

ESFP personalities are very observant, able to notice and respond to someone’s distressed emotional state. As planning and long-term thinking are often their weakest personality traits, ESFPs may be inferior advisors and planners, but they are very well equipped to provide practical advice and emotional support.

The main weakness for many ESFPs is their lack of rationality, which can lead to superficiality and forgetfulness, with more emphasis on quick satisfaction, but not their obligations and duties. ESFPs are also likely to do their best to ignore potential conflicts instead of dealing with them head-on.

It is likely that the ESFP personality will be very practical, but not when it comes to repetitive or analytical tasks. They would rather rely on their luck or ask other people for help than spend time trying to understand a complex theory.
------------------

In this one I identify with the playful nature and wit. I somewhat identify with the forgetfulness, but I think a lot of that has to do with stress and lack of sleep for me. The ignoring conflicts part is not me at all. I hit those head on and sometimes way too blunt. I do enjoy making people happy, but I don't think I am the best at it. It used to be I loved being the center of attention, but now I really don't like it or want it. I like getting my ego stroked as much as the next guy, but being a superstar is not all that important to me anymore. I think this was one of the areas I kept thinking about years past. I still do want to be the life of the party and life is somewhat of a never ending-party like stated above, but I have calmed down a ton and pick and choose my spots better.

ESTP:

Source: http://www.16personalities.com/ESTP-personality

People with the ESTP personality type are very social, spontaneous and direct. Some may even see them as rude or reckless, but ESTPs truly love action and always dive right into the heart of the storm. ESTPs dislike theoretical debates or thinking about the future – they are only interested in the present moment and focus all their efforts on enjoying what is rather than thinking about what could be.

ESTPs would rather do something quickly than prepare a prepare a detailed action plan, figure out all its flaws and only then act. They do not mind stepping back and fixing their mistakes, if necessary. People with this personality type also have an innate ability to pick up other people’s thoughts and motives – being extraordinarily perceptive, ESTPs can easily detect the slightest change in someone’s facial expression, clothing, behavior etc. No other personality type has this mysterious ability.

People with the ESTP personality type also tend to see laws, rules and obligations as recommendations or instructions rather than as unbreakable principles. If ESTP believes that something must be done and the cause is just and worthy, they will go ahead and do it, despite what the law or social rules say. This is not meant to say that ESTPs are lawbreakers – they usually have a very clear understanding of good and evil – rather, they tend to put personal values, opinions and principles above what other people or the society think.

ESTPs enjoy drama, passion and physical pleasures. However, people with this personality type should be aware that their passion may manifest itself in many different ways, with some of them being quite risky or unhealthy – for instance, many gamblers are ESTPs. ESTP personality traits may also push them towards inadvertently hurting other people – as ESTPs are very direct and rely on facts and logic (T trait) rather than emotions (F trait), their words can easily hurt more sensitive personality types.

As ESTPs dislike theory and abstract thinking, they often have problems in school, especially in later years. People with this personality type see theoretical discussions as boring and pointless. In contrast, their energy and passion are virtually unlimited when it comes to activities they see as practical and exciting. ESTPs can be very inspiring and convincing – this makes them excellent sales representatives, consultants and entrepreneurs. This personality type is truly very colorful – it is crucial that every ESTP recognizes their own talents, as well as strengths and weaknesses.
---------------

This one I identify with now more than ever and I think (as I have said before) I am evolving more into day by day. The first paragraph is me to a T. I have been told numerous times that I am super blunt and sometimes people don't want to hear about it. When it says ESTP's may say something without thinking that hurts peoples feelings, bingo. It's not that I try to do it, it just comes out because I am direct and expect people to be direct with me. My dad told me a month ago that I have a way of telling people "Fuuuuuuu" without saying "Fuuuuuuu". Really it's that my words come out wrong and people misinterpret the meaning behind my words. I do care about people, I just don't know how to lay off of the truth.

The picking up other peoples motives and noticing slight changes... ALL DAY. I see stuff in daily life, poker table, etc that other people miss. I honestly need to invest time into micro and macro expressions so that I can interpret them better. Intuition... LOL.. I suck. All the other stuff on there I think mixes and mingles with ESFP ideals.

Going to do a bunch of ESTP research now!

Edit: Oh and the passion part, totally me. When I learn something new that I enjoy I jump in and try to learn everything I can about the subject. Poker has been the one thing that has stayed a consistent passion of mine. May have that gambooooooling disease though.

Your personality type: INTJ.

Strength of individual traits: I - 48%, N - 28%, T - 44%, J - 8%.

I think that is what I tested last year when you posted this in the chat thread.

INTJ's are pretty much polar opposite of my personality and it is said that they cannot stand each other, but one of BFF's is an INTJ and we hav survived. Don't get me wrong, we get into debates and argue all the time. We really challenge each other on stuff. I always know how he would react to something because it is the opposite of what I would do. It takes a different kind of INTJ to get along with me though. One that can let down their guard a little and appreciate my objective criticism as much as I can theirs. It's the intellect crowd that will not listen to anyone's ideas or criticism that I struggle with the most. I can step back and admit fault. Those that can't I generally do not get along with.

I have moments of high energy spurts so if that doesn't bother you we would do fine because we have already built a relationship through the internet. Now, if you are not a high energy guy, and do not provoke or feed high energy people, I would probably adapt to that. My INTJ buddy knows how to get reactions out of me and provokes me purposefully.

The thing with liking me is the first impression. Do not judge me by your first impression of me. I have a few thick layers you need to peel before you understand and like me. Those that get through those layers are generally friends for life. I take in people like no other. I don't think I have ever met anyone I do not like... Ok there is one guy. Anyways, I think because we have already built a relationship online and you have a decent feel for how I act (sarcastic, witty, easy going) we would be fine IRL. The sarcastic and witty layers are the ones people struggle with when meeting me.
