Okay, So, I'm currently at University in the UK studying advanced mathematics. I've always heard about poker and thought I'd be very good at it (not trying to blow my own trumpet), so about a week ago I studying the areas of poker that i knew were important (ICM, True Bankroll Management, Range vs Range) and my friend (a psychology student) asked me if i could help him understand some of these concepts. I said no at first, it's usually way too hard to explain these things to people without a hard mathematical background.

Being a student in the UK where university fees are extortionate, of course i'm living below average standard of living in this country, don't get me wrong, i'm surviving, but i'm relatively poor compared to my classmates (trust fund kiddies).

My friend propositioned me. He said if you can teach me these concepts in a couple of days, i'll set you up with a bankroll for the micro-stakes. Well i jumped at this opportunity of course, i wanted to play poker but didn't have the money, this was my chance to see if i had what it takes. Sure enough i taught in the day and increased his ROI by 1.2%. from 3%-4.2% in the games he was playing ($7 HU hyper turbos, so he definitely owes me more, thats $0.08.4/game and he plays 200 games/day). He told me to make an account, and then he gave me $105 (6.25 day payback time for him, tight bugger).

After going through the games i looked firstly at the different SNG formats and found that 9 man KO sngs were probably the lowest variance option (except for fifty50s but they have very few fish at the higher levels).

Anyway another poker playing friend of mine had a spare registration key for PT4 low-stakes, so until i reach the $30 stakes, i'm sorted for software i think.

So. Here's how i'm going to do this. i plan to play 12/14 hours a day (i currently have no work to do for university until next year and another 4 months on the apartment i'm living in) at first and as i grow in stakes i'll play less hours (as i'll be making more money per hour). My goal is really to put in about 10000 SNG's in 4 months and finish up with an ROI, realistically, between 7-11%. I hope to move up 1 stake per month and when i reach the $15 games... stay there with an ROI hopefully of around 5% which will give me £300 a week (enough to live [not survive] on) although at first it will be small amounts of money that i wont be able to touch. Long term thinking however is what poker is about right. If i can get to the $30 stakes one day, i'll be earning enough for the things i wish to accomplish in life.

So here goes nothing, 70 BI's at the $1.50 9man [turbo] KOs

i'll post up my results tomorrow morning, but i will be reading any advice or requests you may have as the readers of this blog. Welcome to the blog, and thanks for reading this.

Rules:

3000 SNGs a month (at least)
2000 SNGs by the end of this month (at least)
Only Mozart/Beethoven whilst playing/silence.
Eat healthy (no junk food whatsoever, no sugary drinks)
Finish this month down no more than 10BI's preferably finish up (result oriented goal, but i figure it'll make it more interesting for you guys if 4 hours before midnight of the last day of the month i'm down 14/15 buy ins.

If (no matter what the excuse) any of these rules are broken, my punishment will be i have to play twice as many games the next month.

Good luck OP, if you want to succeed stick to the plan. Even if it gets boring.

having an issue with volume, dont think i'll be able to put in enough games, will probably go for the higher variance faster 9man hypers will post up the graph after 200 games
