I suck at the NLHE. Is this standard? Probably should have raised to $1000 preflop?

my 2c is that pfr size is too small as you said and I prefer to bet/fold the turn everyone is so nitty in this donkament so far that I'm not to worried about getting c/red off the best hand but it would really suck to get lead into on a river Q K or A when we check back
but I'm not exactly an nl expert either so w/e

b/f turn and check behind river?

that would be my line although I do vbet a brick river imo although there are not many of those - 2, 3, 5, 6 8 and J river I'm betting checking back everything else

Definitely raise more pre, or even flat. I don't really know how the cool kids play MTTs anymore, but postflop looks fine. You really want to reraise pre an amount that lets you get him all in in two bets, so 1100 would work for that: 2350 on the flop with a 1700 cbet gives you 5750 on the turn with ~4900 effective stacks left.

Without a heart in your hand this would be good, with a heart though I prefer your line. You don't want to have to bet-fold your flush draw equity on the turn.

You know 27/20 is considered a lagtard at 6max NLHE? And they used to say LHE was all robotic preflop with no variation in style.

is it? those are my exact same stats in 6m nl
although I know many solid players play "hyper lag" (meaning 30+vpip, wow, lol)

True that, I kept harping on my friend who is a NL pro to make the switch to FL. He finally decided to give it a shot. But every hand in this donkament goes like this: one person raises: everyone folds. Truly enthralling.

Yeah, depending on the bet size/timing/reads, but I was always a calling station. That's why I play limit now. When he peels the flop OOP you shouldn't be too concerned about overcards. If he bets river it'll most likely be a sort block bet with a smaller pair, or a flush, or trips, or a dumb bluff.
05-01-2010 , 03:01 PM
6max cashgames are much more exciting, cause sometimes someone 3bets and then the raiser folds which gives it some variety
and every once in a while, they even make it to the flop!

Value of the freeroll:

1 000 000 / 3322 = 301.02348

not bad

Idk I think it's player dependent, I got c/cd by AJ AQ AK overs a lot by fish in cashgames but if he is a tag then they can be excluded obv

I repost it here, maybe it gets more discussion:

If you are going to play it that bad post flop, fold PF.
05-01-2010 , 03:09 PM
I'd call there
05-01-2010 , 03:13 PM
BB was a 6vpip nit.. there are like a million 2pair and straight combos that beat me not mentioning the set possibilities when MP is still in on the flop.. I think if I cr and get called I'm flipping at best vs the calling range
maybe I could fold the turn, I was hoping BB is just stabbing with a scared Ax but when he vbet the river with a decent sized bet I gave him credit
how would you have played it sethy?
05-01-2010 , 03:23 PM
I either donk flop or pay off the brickest of all brick rivers.
