I really don't care so much who the good regulars are so much as how many of them there are at one table. Having good fish is much more important than worrying about how good/bad the regulars are.

try the pokerstars regulars thread

Today,

Poker Stars $1/$2 Limit Hold'em - 6 players

Pre Flop: Hero is CO with A K
1 fold, 1fold, Hero Raises, BTN calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: 8 Q K (4 palyers)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, BTN raises, SB 3-bets, BBf folds, Hero caps, BTN calls, SB calls

Turn: 8 Q K 5

SB checks, Hero Checks, BTN bets, SB calls, Hero folds

Did I make stupid fold there?
I assumed that someone had the flush or two pair at least

River: 8 Q K 5 A
SB checks, BTN checks

SHOW DOWN
SB shows [Q J] (a pair of Queens)
BTN shows [T K] (a pair of Kings)

Hello, i've a question. Is it possible to become a supernova playing for 1 year at the limit 1-2 about 30.000 hands every months? At what limit would need to play for becoming supernova with about 30.000 hands in 1 month?
Sorry for my bad english....
06-10-2008 , 02:51 PM
1-2 makes about 0.33 FPP per hand = 300.000 hands to supernova

I believe you ought to have posted this hand as it own thread--while your post is welcome in this forum it is off topic in this thread as you are seeking advice about a particular hand, rather than discussing a particular villain's ability

I'm currently chasing the SN dream at 1-2.

To hit platinum every month, it takes me about 22,000-24,000 hands.

Spread it across 10 months of hitting platinum, that's 220,000 to 240,000. Figure 250,000 to be sure.

To answer your question, it's easily do-able at 1-2.

Poker_FaceII isn't so bad, maybe I am just running badly against him though since I only have like 500 hands with him. Thoughts?

No.

$1/2: .4 VPP / hand
$2/4: .5 VPP / hand
$3/6: .7 VPP / hand
$5/10: 1 VPP/hand

These are all slightly pessimistic numbers, but it does vary with game selection, playing style, and how many coolers are dealt.

There are a lot regulars at 1-2 on pokerstars? How many BB/100 can do a standard tag here? Now i play on titan poker, of ipoker network... where are there more bad players?

Yeah, that's me. My screen name is pretty much the same everywhere, unfortunately. As far as where the fishies are, these days it seems like there's decent players everywhere. The good thing about stars is that there's just so many tables at each limit. Even if half the tables are really bad, you can still find a few of the best tables. I don't know anything about titan or ipoker, though.

I play on iPoker and stars too. I think you should play on iPoker during prime time for that site, and during off peak times you should play at stars. Almost all the tables are bad during off times on iPoker, but there are still good ones at stars.
06-11-2008 , 05:47 AM
how many bb/100 is possible to do at stars 1-2 limit with a standard tag play?
Now i play on ipoker.. with reload bonus and promotion is possible to take about 20% of "rakeback".... I've read that on stars, if you are a supernova you can take about 30% of rakeback with ffp , and 50% if you are supernova elite.
If i start now to play at 1-2 on stars, what can i get equivalent of "rakeback" with ffp?
06-11-2008 , 08:46 AM
for Limit the rake is much smaller on PS without rakeback than on iPoker even with rakeback so it makes no sense to play on iPoker for those

However iPoker has its fair share of fish so it's ok to play there, but just know that you are losing more rake than on PS

Also find sites with rakeback, playing on iPoker without that is awful

This is very true, and is the reason I made the switch from iPoker to Stars.
I worked out from my poker tracker database that I was paying 75% more in rake on iPoker! so playing there even with a rake back deal was pointless, and thats without factoring in Stars cash bonuses.

I am interested if somebody can tell me the difference in rake at 5/T SH between Stars and ipoker. I think the difference in rake gets significantly smaller at that limit.

I would like to play 5/T at Stars but I think I am better off at ipoker with a very good rakeback deal because you don`t pay that much more rake.

But I would like to verify that. So if you could please post how much rake you pay I can do the math.

I've paid about $21k for 100k hands.

And ProfRoscher, if you're reading this, yesterday you made 2pair over 2pair, set over set, and a bunch of other rigged hands against me. I now officially hate you. Sethypooh, you're off my hate list for now.
