I'm not saying the US system isn't messed up and we're not paying too much. I'm just getting a little annoyed with people acting like government services are free when they aren't. I'm not hating on you kik, mostly hating on public employee unions and other ******s running around the states wanting to tax us up the ass for stuff that doesn't work or employees that don't do ****. Example, if you make firechief in LA and work at that position for only a year you can retire at over 100k a year pension for the rest of ur life. And I'd be damned if these guys are over 60. Also the head librarian in San dieo gets paid like 200k a year... WTF. It's the people's money and legislators/public employees throw it around like free candy.

1.5%-2.5% tax for full coverage sounds nice. It's lame that non-smoking and otherwise healthy people have to pay for the drug addicts and obese under public systems but it's obviously better than other options.

/brag and beat for never having taken adv of a single reload bonus.
i can't believe that , thats prolly in the neighborhood of 3kish since that time frame. i think just got leveled.

No level, never done a reload bonus. I can see how not doing it is -EV but I didn't think you could still make deposits as an American. I guess I will give it a shot. 25% up to $150 means deposit $600 to get full benefit correct?

I was told argentine is the proper word. But nh anyway sir. I spent one weekend in Mendoza and the ugliest meanest chicks were still hot and friendly by Chilean standard (where I was studying at the time).

US girls are easy but a lot of them can be pretty bitchy and shallow. The ones that aren't are ugly

yeh obv services aren't "free"

i've been following the protests in the states off and on, and as far as i can tell they aren't asking for anything as dramatic as u say they are, or as rich as u say they are. as i can see it, they are protesting against their collective bargaining rights and pensions being taken away

an interesting thing about smokers, the government has been debating providing extra incentives for smokers to use private health care (medibank private, the governments private health care) to remove the strain from the taxpayer
03-07-2011 , 04:13 PM
odd, i had an error popup saying e-checks weren't available for me when I tried

i've never had an issue with wells fargo for anything online yet

i think this is universal

E-check problems seem to vary by state or region, not bank. The last time I deposited to try to get echecks back (thought 6 months had passed), it took like 5 weeks for $20 to come out of my bank account. This was in november before echecks really started going bonkers.

I can still deposit but not withdraw. We'll see how long it takes to clear.

You were told wrong. These days the two are interchangeable and it depends on region/preference/topic. I much prefer the sound and look of the word Argentinian when describing people. For wines etc I could go either way. I believe (this could be wrong) originally Argentine was used as a noun (like 'Englishman', "I am an Englishman/Argentine") and Argentinian the adjective ("I am english", "I am Argentinian"), although there's no definitive source on that and today the two are of the same meaning. You will more often find Argentine on tourism and wine literature as it sounds more exotic; Argentinian in diplomatic reference is it sounds more formal/correct.

edit: Interestingly ngrams shows Argentine format historically much more widespread, with Argentinian only recently coming in to fashion.

Am I wrong in thinking british girls tend to be more masculine, ie loud, drunk, obnoxious, overweight?

Not sure what the figures are in Wisconsin but in CA the average public employee gets paid almost 10k a year more than the average private employee after benefits.

Also a union is a monopsony, which when the supply of an organization's productive input is controlled by one group. Considering the point of government programs is to provide cost effective goods that in their nature are difficult to provide in the public sphere allowing the labor to unionize is ridiculous. It's bad enough there's no competition so the consumers can't force efficiency on whatever services are being provided, a union then makes it impossible for any altruistic government official to create any incentives for the workers to perform. So basically inefficiencies are on the input and the output.

Also unions are pretty much useless today considering all the labor laws protecting people from unfair employers. You want to see what unions are really for read the jungle by upton Sinclair

i just flat out disagree with all of this. ur saying they don't need to have unions because the government will protect them? thats just crazy

if workers cannot unionize it generally leads to terrible effects, such as laws being passed which are unfavorable to employees (for example the laws that are being proposed in wisconsin)

Kik, no offense, but you have no idea what you are talking about. 26 states right now either restrict or outright ban collective bargaining for public sector unions. Federal unionized workers have very little collective bargaining power. Banning of collective bargaining is exactly what is causing the uproar in Wisconsin but is nothing new and quite common.
