I haven't noticed any lost notes, and I have probably 2 or 3k people tagged. I think I read some other people were having problems in one of the stars threads in the zoo though.

The file is in YourName->AppData->Local->Pokerstars->notes.xml

make a backup of it every so often

what would "the zoo" be?

i had problems with this as well.. i believe it was caused by the stars client losing its connection when my computer slept or hibernated. they told me to manually close the client in order to save newly created notes.

is it new players you're losing notes on?
02-15-2011 , 02:12 AM
not sure. usually when I think i've lost a note, its against some semi reg, who I should have at least PTR'd to give a color to at some point but they're mysteriously empty
02-15-2011 , 02:21 AM
hmm, sounds similar to what i was experiencing. it was a real mind**** actually since i was rarely 100% positive a note was missing. might be worth emailing stars about it. they might have fixed some of the root causes, but some people definitely had troubles... and im still occasionally suspicious that im missing notes in spite of changing the sleep settings on my pc...

i wonder if it's possible to make a living out of 6 tabeling all the 2.20$ sit-n-go huhu games. plo, plh, FL, nl. it seems easy to win at least 8 out of every 10 played. jk of course, but i bet it's possible for the determined person.

the whole losing notes thing happens to me too. some of my notes actually get copied and pasted like 20X and i have to go back and edit them. Its really dumb.

There was a thread about a guy who made SN playing 1$ DoNs. Though I doubt he makes a living or he is a living being.

didn't a guy make SNE playing micro PLO? Nut peddling for a living must be boring as hell!

Yeah, these FL tourneys are sweet, full of LP and spewtards. But after playing at least 2-3 hours you make only 100$ profit and lose it in next 10 mins playing cash. If there was more players, prize could be better.

But, tourney requires a really different play style then cash game. Is there any good article about FL tourneys you guys know.

I'd pity a quad amputee less.

Rakeback pro beats DoN pro any day of the week. At least I don't even have to win to win.

yeah, but its like asking which is better: being kicked in the nuts or having your eyes jabbed?

I have fun (9/10 times anyway) and make some money, I've played DoN's, there is no possible way 98k $1 DoN's was fun.

think about the hypocrisy of that comment for just a minute

But you get to go all in!

There is a decent one I read a while ago (though I can't remember much if it so I can't say I apply it well). I'll link to it later today when back on my computer.

As far as adjustments. I know ICM basically says a shortstacks chips are worth more, so be more inclined to tangle with them rather than big stacks. Also I think just being aware of a shortstack just wanting to spew allin even if it took 4 bets on a big street was a clutch realization.

I think playing the first few levels like cash game is good cuz you want to take advantage of people playing tight. Then I'd say mid level right before the bubble to tighten up unless your stack is massive, then on the bubble lag up late position like it's your job cuz people are hemorrhaging blinds. I think late positio lag and early position nit is good when it hasn't been opened yet because getting 3bet and playing out of posiion in a tourney hurts so bad!

Then in money I would loosen up to cash game standards again except still trying o not tangle with a big stack when you have a weak range.

No idea if any of the strat is "right" but it seemed right from what I could tell. I think limit tourney play requires tactical bouts of lagginess and nittery.

Opponents have much tighter/stronger ranges in FL tourneys than in your regular 6 max cash games in all but short stack getting all in situations.

I do miss the days of party poker FL sngs and huge FL MTTs. I win almost every daily FL tournament I play in, problem is they are not really worth the time investment.

The only one worthy seems to be 215 ones, but it has a much better field than daily ones.
02-15-2011 , 01:59 PM
right, but unfortunately the players in the $215's are a little bit better at tying their own shoes and don't necessarily just mark an X as their signature. still hugely +ev though.
