It's obv ok to c/r the flop and check the turn, but check call? I mean he gets like 5 to 1, it just seems terrible, and I don't know how it can be justified.

What? How can it be standard? I'm so confused right now

i dont really like his play personally, but i could see an argument for it. He must think his pair outs are pretty clean, and that you have alot of semi-bluffing hands or air that he's ahead of. but after you call the c/r and bet the turn i just don't think your going to have small pairs or air often enough to justify calling. and even if you are bluffing / semi-bluffing alot, is he calling a blank river?

For some reason i get stuck at $1000 mark this year. Right at the mark many times and have surpassed it a couple just to lose some and end up back around $900. Maybe if I played more than 600 hands in a day, I'd hit it.

I've got about 12.62 on FT and a $400 bonus that expires in a couple days. Given that I don't have a drug habit beyond the occasional Margarita, what's my upside? Can I make 20x as much as La Peste due to my larger starting BR? What if I gave him the $12 and change for 1/2 his action? Would staking the man be more profitable?
