Did you stay at the Cosmo? I was curious if anyone had any reviews of the place. I checked online and everyone seems to love it. They like to use the word "trendy" a lot when describing it.
01-18-2011 , 02:23 PM
just as a rule i abstain from talking to anyone who says "trendy"

$20 says that every well known SSSH'er comes in here and uses the word "Trendy" in their post just to get you to stop talking to them...
01-18-2011 , 02:27 PM

I just realized that kick_nyur@c$ lives about 5 miles away from me. I think I'm gonna see if he wants to hang out so he can teach me the pokarz (as I see him 9th deep on a 10 man waiting list for a 6max table)

Cosmopolitan sucks. ****** restaurants and the club there (Marquee) is the worst design ever. I ate at the buffet and that wasn't any good either, just standard MGM buffet served tapas style to try and be fancy. Food quality sucked and the seafood selection was piss poor. The little restaurants on the 2nd floor weren't any good either.

Who, me or him?

It certainly looks to me like his books follow the same template and language as all these other pseudo-scientific self-help books, which I regard as something of a scam.

I've met him a couple times and he never talks about stuff like that, so I don't get the sense its a huge part of his life or anything. He's pretty baller for a nerd actually

pseudo scientific self help tends to be scammy i agree with that. but to dismiss it entirely i think is wrong as well.

Common wisdom says that position is less important in LHE than in big bet games. I don't know that that is true, but my attempts to find out never went well in the other forums. A couple questions:

-How do BB and SB winrates compare in HUHULHE vs HUNL and HUPLO? Is it possible to win out of the sb in those games?
-If position is more important in big bet games, why does seat selection seem to be less important to the regulars? (and is that true?, from what I was told it is harder to isolate fish in big bet games)
-Why is there so much cold calling from the sb in PLO, and why are button open ranges so much tighter than lhe?
