it would be really cool and impressive if it wasn't absolutely disgusting
i mean just think of all the rotting juices from various stuff, rotten meat, diapers, tampons, paper tissues, whatever else, that's dripping all over the place in a dumpster , and you will put that crap (literally) into your mouth and eat it

go read the thread and you will see that's not the case. perfectly good items are thrown out for many reasons besides the food being bad.

I'm not into it but I think its commendable. Personally I'm fairly content being a filthy American consumer, although I don't think I consumer all that much anyway.

When I was living in Portland, if I didn't finish half my burrito or whatever, I would usually set it on top of the garbage can. I figured that's the least I could do to help the vagrants.

you learn to pick your spots i believe. F.ex behind grocery stores there are usually dumpsters that are more or less only filled with stuff that is past their due-date. And ofc a lot of this could still be in pretty good quality. So i believe used tampons and diapers should be a rare thing to run into if you have some of these places around

Srsly, I would never do it but I imagine eating out of the bin is probably healthier than eating at McD's, even taking into account the chance of ingesting expired food/bacteria, etc., which is prolly higher at McD's anyways assuming one takes a selective approach to the bin diet.
