If we could measure if an animal likes having sex with a human (and could conclude it does) would it still be wrong to have sex with it ? I bumped into this thread and couldn't find any about sexual deviant's and this was pretty close so leggo.

Probably not. Especially in contrast to the levels of animal cruelty that are completely legal or at least overlooked.

Similarly, it's probably not wrong for consenting adult siblings to shag.

That said, I'm not going to be busting a gut to defend the rights of goat ****ers and people committing incest when there are so many more important (and palatable) battles still to fight.

I am pretty sure, I'd enjoy a shot of heroin. Would it be wrong to give me one when I am blackout drunk? What if the shot didn't have any negative consequences at all?

The consent part was in fact the only real problem I saw after 'deciding animals like sex'. I think we would see a huge (maybe incorrect of nature) 'humanifying' of animals as enjoying sex is not equal to always wanting it and we'd still want them to consent. To be honest I think animals are wired somewhat differently wrt consent and wanting it, in that context apparently only very few species have sex for pleasure.

I was also wondering if anyone in here would like to take a stab at when/if they expect pedophilia to be taken out of the mental disorder context ? I saw we have ganstaman in here but that was a while ago.

Ill kick it off and say that I'd say it probably SHOULD be (partially) taken out of that context. As we know pedophilia is a disorder within (regular) sexual preference, a reason stated for making it a disorder (something homosexuality was as well till not too long ago) is because it's causing harm on the child its being 'done' to. Pedophiles can also be aided by psychological support to contain their urges.

Now there is all sorts of wrongs here obviously, if you're a pedophile without being in danger of exercising your sexual preference do you still have a mental disorder ? Could we agree that part of the mental disorder that is brought upon the pedophile is simply due to influence from cultural environments ? There is way more but Im not going to name them all in this 'OP'. As seen in this thread pedophiles of all sorts are shamed by people of all sorts. Could we see a society where (non active) pedophiles are accepted and special services have been created for them (VR porn for instance) ? I realize its kind of a controversial topic but I figured the well regulated forum of politics (unchained) is probably the place to start this discussion in (if anywhere).
