USA#1 Healthcare Reform USA#1 Healthcare Reform

You guys seem like you would know how to work this one out properly

Question: With Obamacare being so successful, what can the World's Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017 bring to the table?

Are we going to allow States to enroll uninsured residents in high deductible health plans, and insist that individuals must be permitted to opt-out of this coverage?

Mostly I am interested in various ways to buy protection from the government. Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what you can do to be left alone.

As it is, I have broccoli lodged in my throat.

If it includes pamphlets for everyone on how to make molotov cocktails, I'm in favor of the bill.

I feel as though this is not a blanket broccoli protection and more of a reactionary policy if we're going to light our broccoli on fire Mr. LOL.

Dead people cost less, so the answer is more dead people, faster.
03-18-2017 , 05:54 PM
Mr. STBW do you have an idea of how we can accomplish this cheaply?

What is there to say. Less people would be insured, health insurance would cost more, and rich people would get a big fat tax cut that they don't need. It's quite simply trash.

It sounds like our broccoli would not be thoroughly taken care of after all.

Lets just fix Obama#1care and forget repealing it. It's already a heavy investment, and our broccoli needs to be protected first and foremost.

Repealing ACA is dumb. We should be thinking about moving to a single-payer system, which would be much more efficient.

Watching the R's choke on this is hilarious to me even though it's a serious matter. I'd thought that, since they had so many years to work on it, they'd have had a few plans thought up by conservative healthcare experts/think tanks to choose from but, nah.

That's the problem for them. ACA WAS created by conservative healthcare experts/think tanks (Heritage Fdn. and others in the 1990's). It's a market-based solution! So the only way to go more "free market" on this is just say "govt has no responsibility, poor people just have to die off en masse." And clearly that's not what Trump ran on, even if it is what Paul Ryan ran on. They put themselves into this bad position by trashing ACA at every opportunity as "death panels" and "socialism" and all the other ways they tried to sabotage that law.

Placing "cheaply" lower down a priority list of values to accomplish regarding healthcare is an idea to have.

So, pay less for health care, pay more for making less people exist?

Don't we already do that?

Also, +1 VVV

If the goal is to reach number one at lowest cost, whatever works to reach that goal which doesn't stop profits.

To move way from that, costs can be re-prioritized and more goals than costs and profits can be included.

Market-based healthcare will always fail because you don't have a free market, you have oligopolies (hospitals, drug companies etc.) with huge market entry barriers and the customer has no choice not to buy. But it will prolly take another 50 years before Muricans understand these things
03-22-2017 , 12:56 PM
I understand these things. That is why our broccoli needs new solutions.

We understand it, but it's difficult to change when the politicians are bought and paid for.

Trump and the Republicans WILL sabotage ObamaCare if given the chance. It's time to push for Universal Health Care, like every other civilized country.

obamacareful, we don't want to jinx it.

Trumpcare? More like failcare!
