This is a really good video by David Pakman on the topic of political correctness. Thought it was worth posting in case anyone is interested.

Great summary, really makes me want to watch it.

Summary: It's about the history of political correctness and the corruption of political correctness and the impact it is having on our society.

I'll have a look when I get time. Thanks.

Hope you like it!

The history of political correctness has turned all you tough right wingers into tiny little whiney b!tches. Quit blubbering all the damn time. Jeez.

I can't stand someone who can't stand by their own words.

makes a video which obviously attacks people like dave rubin, won't condemn dave rubin because Dave is his friend.

Pakman is among the sane ones who get on guys like Rubin for spending too much time criticizing the left when we have a loon in the Whitehouse and Republicans in power. That's what we should be talking about, and that's mostly what he does of late.

I get that point for sure, but Rubin and others think it's the overt thought policing, identity politics and social justice lunacy that have fractured the left, driven voters away and lead to the right's political dominance. I definitely share that opinion.

Would someone like to, in their own words, clearly explain what damage political correctness in America is doing?

To an outsider, someone who doesn't nod instinctively when he hears Very Bad Words about political correctness, the whole issue seems very close to the nonsense argument put forth by homophobes about how gay marriage ruins marriage for the rest of us.

So that's a no then.

Its a real shame Carlin and the left-wing of politics becoming the finger-wagging, censoring, tut-tutting, anti-rebellion establishment didn't overlap a little more.

Censoring? Which side just flipped out about a play and a picture of a comedian holding a mask? Which side, led by Sean Hannity, has started trying to arrange boycotts to shut down news programs they disagree with?

Interesting video but far from unbiased, despite his best efforts.

The idea that Conservatives being triggered by phrases like "happy holidays" is somehow the equal of insisting on the sheer make-believe of 32 different genders gives it away.

I thought this was painfully obvious. Apparently not (although you should take the opinions of seasoned professionals as opposed to simple keyboard jockeys).

We've really moved beyond Political Correctness at this point and we're simply in the realm of Wrong Think. **** - Politically Incorrect started in 1993 and ended in 2002.

What you find offensive in someone today, someone can find offensive in you tomorrow. And as we're seeing in America today (see Evergreen University), you can never be Regressive enough. Wrong Think is impacting America so much so that this country was willing to elect a Wrong Thinker PRECISELY to smash the Thought Police.

We either have free expression of ideas or we do not. Political Correctness is simply a way to shut down an opposing argument without having any argument of your own. There is no merit to Political Correctness - even to protect people from being subjected to *******s.

Oh, you think you are in charge of other people's gender? LOL.

Did the 'side' flip out though? One or two people in the ultra-right-wing Bible belt might have spazzed out but I think most people (largely those in the centre and indeed most lefties I know) just winced at it just being another example of a woman trying to be funny.

Reality is, the reaction from the left if someone had done the same with a mocked-up beheaded Obama would have been 100x what it has been with Trump and its almost certain that there'd have been calls for arrests to be made as well as a deluge of accusations of racism.

The Left started the entire boycott trend.

Let's not gloss over: Antifa, Trump Protests, Berkley, the Rodeo Clown fired simply for wearing an Obama Mask, etc...

The play was a measured response (unless you also opposed MLK style sit-ins) to....a targeted shooting by a Left Wing radical. And no one is saying Griffin should be arrested, she simply doesn't have to be given money. Not to mention her lawyering up after her apology was horse****.

How quickly you forget and gloss over relevant facts.

I mean, don't get me wrong, the overall principle of just being polite to people is something I'm more than happy to go along with. The issue comes when someone wants to be recognised as a transgender pansexual super-duper bi-racial whatever and wish to be granted the same entitlement to that claim as a black man politely requesting that white people don't use the 'n' word. This collides with the simple reality that society is bound to find one demand ridiculous, and the other totally reasonable, and will never equate the two.
