They aren't seriously considering women for the role of bond either so do you think they are sexist too?

It's a bit different to try to turn character so defined by being a man into a female. It's a good idea though.

The Bond character isn't defined by being white. It doesn't matter at all.

Could easily do a Bond-esque female character.

You just do it with a slight name change (Jamie works fine). Still Bond, still 007 it's just a woman not a man. No silly explanations or acknowledgment required.

Meh, I don't agree it's a good idea at all. Especially in the case of James Bond.

Here is what should happen. You put Edris Elba into a bond movie as a fellow secret agent, but you call him 009 (get it? lol). Then you spin that off into an entirely different character with his own series of movies. This way the Bond universe can expand multi-culturally, and maybe the fan base with it, without rustling jimmies all over the place.

That would be nice, except the Bond franchise already screwed up its chance to make a spinoff when it introduced Felix Leiter. That guy needed his own film series. He was too good to be playing second fiddle to Bond.

I posted about this before but maybe it is time to post it again given what is happening today. My daughter was dating a black kid who I knew pretty well. Anyway I get a call from her one day asking me if I can get her boyfriend out of jail. I asked her what the circumstances were and basically she told me he was stopped by a cop and hauled off to jail the night before as she didn't know what the charges were. I told her I'd see what I could do.

So my plan was to go to the county jail, find out what he was charged with, if bail had been set and if so get a bail bondsman. I went to the county jail and executed the plan. I got as far as finding out what the charges were. I was pulled aside by a cop and they asked me if I knew him and could vouch for him. Of course I said yes and the cop told me to wait. About 10 minutes later my daughters boyfriend comes walking out. I tell him lets get out of here. He told me he'd reimburse me for the money I put out and I told me I didn't have to put out any money, you weren't charged with anything. It turns out a cop stopped him and just hauled him off to jail for no reason other than he was black apparently.

growing up a str8 a student in white private Christian schools not skipping me grades. they would allow me to do work many levels above my grade level, but not skip me.

every time I sit at a poker table there's at least one person I can tell thinks ima dumb negro. I like it though, it helps me win. in fact, my playstyle is sooo assholish, I have made many many W ppl leave my table. its like rather than losing to a negro they'd rather change tables or snap leave. I've had a white girl pretty much WANT to go to the hood n have my friends run a train on her and she was disappointed when I took her to my white friends house for a casual smoke session. she even said something like, " gosh all the black ppl I meet hang out with white ppl"...I saw she was so disappointed I took her to the hood afterwards for what she wanted

all in all I de escalate potential racism when I open my mouth and say things of substance, an dress well.

I guess another form of racism is when my friends always said I talk white
