Internet racism doesn't count for purposes of the thread. I'll tell my tales later.

IRL I think the most blatantly racist thing I have ever seen is the Asian people at the baccarat tables. When they need a 10 value card to win a hand they holler "Monkey!" Well in the last few years some of them have started hollering "Obama!".

Believe it or not I think the most racist person I know IRL is a black coworker who genuinely despises "ghetto" blacks. When you see a story about a black person commiting armed robbery, murder or rape he always says "Who else." Always telling jokes about blacks being lazy and stupid. Rips on black culture all the time.

Legit knew a girl in high school who joined the klan. Or at least what she thought was the klan. She was kinda dumb, see? Never found out how accurate the story was because we stopped talking to her after that.

Briefly dated (three dates?) a girl who was like 50% Latina who was pretty racist. Wanted to become a prison guard so she could abuse inmates. Don't recall who she was racist again, entirely possible it was white people.

Seen loads of casual racism in the Midwest. Friend's dad calling all us white kids a bunch of porch monkeys. (We were sitting on a porch, didn't strike me as racist at the time, I'm basically Randall Graves)

First encounter with racism was in grade school. Or middle school for people who went to public school. There was a rift in the popular kids and the one non-fully white kid was in the other group. We were calling names back and forth on the playground and one of the kids from my group shouted that the other was a n****r. Had no idea what the word meant as I'd never encountered it before. Still had the feeling that he had said something he probably shouldn't have.

Bonus story in a "kids say the darnedest things" light - my cousin was just learning about the history of America during the civil war (this was back in like 1980), dunno how old she was. Maybe 5 or 6? Her mom took her with her to the store to get groceries. On the way out they see a black guy walking and my cousin exclaims, "Look mom, a slave!"

Can't imagine a more mortifying experience.

One time I was walking on the street. on the other side there was a black man walking south and a white girl maybe 30 seconds away walking north.

She crossed the street

Le racist or Le socialist ?

I think i'll never know.

Or maybe she thought I looked cute and wanted to have a closer view

Oh and there was this one time it was late and there was 3 thug-looking black dude walking south and I was walking north. So I was like ''LOL TIME TO CROSS THE STREET''

But after thinking I was like nah, let's gather all the courage Ive in me and go through that potential menace. After all im not only french I'm also 25% german. Here's an accurate picture of me at this moment :

And so I went through all of them purposely looking up and proud and nothing happened

I've seen plenty of white women not get on elevators if they only have a couple of Black men in them.

When our family moved into Kenilworth in the 80's the real estate agent asked my mom if we were jewish. She didn't think much of it but then realized later that they tried dissuading blacks and jews from moving into Kenilworth. The feeder high school is New Trier and there are about 4 or 5 surrounding towns and half the high school population is Jewish, but zero jews in Kenilworth.

In 7th grade one of our teachers told in a way that made it seem like the teacher was appalled by it but really wasn't I don't think.....that one of the reasons Kenilworth is so secluded and one of the top few richest towns in the nation was because no blacks and jews were living there. But we are like 12, so no one like argued, we were just like ok.

When I took an African American studies class at Univ of Arizona, one day I think we were talking about racism and telling stories much like here, so I offered up the story about what the teacher in 7th grade told us. One of the other kids in the class who was a year older than me, I knew from high school, and was black. And added to my story that his family had tried to move into Kenilworth around the same time as my family and that the real estate agent pushed them to buy a home in one of the other towns because Kenilworth was too expensive for them, even though he said they could easily afford Kenilworth. I mean like 3 of the 4 other towns in the district are still like top 100 icnome per capita towns in the nation so if you can afford living in Winnetka or Glencoe there is probably an 85% chance you can afford Kenilworth also, granted it is smaller than the other towns. So the real estate agent was obviously pushing them to another town with money not being the issue at all.

There aren't a lot of black dudes who work construction in Texas, but I hired a black welder once. His name was Thomas. Want to take a guess at what my other employees called him?

Spoiler:
Wrong. They weren't nearly clever enough to make that joke. They just called him n****r Thomas.
Spoiler:
No, not to his face.

Most blatant racism I've witnessed was my dad taking me to the Golden Gloves in Lowell, MA circa late 70's maybe early 80's. There was a match featuring a local favorite white kid versus Marvin Haggler's nephew (or cousin or something) and people in the crowd were yelling "knock that n-word out" and stuff like that. My dad was so upset we left early.

There were also a couple of racists at work over the years. Not surprisingly, they were the same people who got their talking points from Rush and Jay Severin. (Local radio guy, maybe some national exposure. Got fired eventually for making racist comments.)

If you're a white guy living in the Midwest, you encounter lots of casual racist remarks, nothing interesting enough to retell. Racists basically assume you're also a racist if you're white so it's safe for them to let loose.

Too many to tell. Experienced all sorts of madness. Mainly in the 90s just outside london in a ~95% white town. Battery about to die so cant do these experieneces any justice rly but heres a few.

The worst and first was prob when I was bout 4yrs old walking back from a grocery store with my mother about 50 yards in front of me as I couldn't keep pace and some 35yr old local convict was like 5 yards behind me telling me he eats colored boys for breakfeast. And all sorts of other stuff.

Then about 6yrs witnessed a dude start a brawl with my dad in front of mum just as we walked back from shopping centre in broad daylight about 11am on a saturday. I was pretty used to this kinda **** by then.

The funniest one was watching my mother who is a bit off the scale when it comes to being a physco knock on my next door neighbours house with sledge hammer in hand telling them to move their car fassst using the word "fakking" in completely the wrong context. Nakked hungover white guy starts running out of the house to move the car that they prevously refusd to move blocking up our driveway.

Also witness my mother offer to fight about 7 teenager youths at once after some verbals. They snap declined after my old gal called their bluff. She a boss.

When I was young I worked with a lot of hardass salesmen. Most didn't like black people. First time I'd heard serious use of the term ******.

I was once at a bar on a beach, I had the bartender tell me to button up my shirt because I was to white. I then proceeded to flip out on the bartender, telling him how "this is America and that type of behavior is unacceptable"

Used to hear this song at the skating rink as a youngster.

It's kind of odd to me that I have been called racial slurs that apply to nearly every group at one time or another. As a kid I was teased for having asian looking eyes, as a teen I was beat down by skinheads for looking hispanic. That same year I had a bottle thrown at me while riding my bike through Denver and was cursed at for being a 'gringo'. Not that long ago I was told my yard looked like a N-words yard because I was little late getting the mowing done. I took another beating from some gangbangers while trying to stop them from beating my friend for wearing a kilt. They thought he was gay. Yeah that's not racist you might say. Well, I cannot discern the quality of that experience from the others. Same with being bullied as a child for having a speech impediment.

Hate is hate, ignorance is ignorance, the quality doesn't change because the condition which is hated is different.

Went to mississippi for a work trip... was sitting in the typical family restraunt.. Three black people at one table 2 old white guys at the other screaming N this N that.

Although I might have been the only one offended...The black people did not seem to notice...either they are so used to it they ignore it well... Or they are just good at hiding the fact they want to ripe some old white people's heads off.

Then again it's mississippi so the cops prob would have taken old white dudes side.

Just being friendly at the bowling alley I asked a guy what he was doing for Martin Luthur king day....he flipped saying I don't celebrate that N-day....

Holy ****..never ever said another word to him since.....people are ****ed up

Property owners association in the form of an old white woman came to my house after it's purchase to welcome us to the neighborhood.

5 minutes in she claimed "it's about time a nice white family moved into the neighborhood as it is being overrun by lazy mexicans who don't take care of anything"

My wife literally beat me to throwing her out of the house before I could.

I mean **** these people go around asking for dues and the money is stated to go towards making the neighborhood better.... Sick ****

My roommate/coworker was bitching because the supervisor was telling him what to do. I said, "That's his job." and he said, "I'm going to take that ni**ers job."

Get off the elevator at some office building, couple of Black men get on, and watch the white woman stand there and not get on.
07-11-2014 , 02:25 PM
to be fair, i've absolutely seen the internal gears working for women confronted with getting on an elevator alone with me, and i'm a scrawny, clean cut white dude

so that may be more of a "being alone with men" thing than a "being alone with black men" thing
