how about in an economy as complicated as ours? just let biz run rough shot. take this thing back to the 1800's? wtf is your end game?

Small and responsible government.

No central banks controlling our economy and creating money out of thin air.

Pretty simple.

Like...what... the constitution says...remember that short little brilliant document?

Or maybe because some dude has been stealing from public land for 20 years, owes over a million dollars for it and has threatened to kill anyone trying to enforce the law? I mean, that or a tortoise. You know, whichever.

And the 51 other ranchers that got ran out of business by Fed regs?

If you think this is about grazing fees or some stupid tortoise then you are a bonafide ******...

This is about the land and how Bundy won't sell. After the other 51 farmers were paid off for their land. Dig deeper and you'll probably find out it is about oil money or some dickhead politician wanting the land for something.

This is the people's land and the Feds own NOTHING. Problem is you have some dumb**** sheriff who can kick the Feds out instantly and won't do it. The sheriff is the law of the land, and has power over federal agents.

But you keep supporting your corrupt, sleaze ball, tyrannical federal government...you bozo.

Yup.

Also, how much do you think he could get for selling this public land he doesn't own?

Tortoises are turtley awesome!

Tortoises are way better than hijacking the word patriot to prop up a stupid, shallow opinion on the USC. I have constitutional opinion and I don't need to hide behind an attack with the word patriot or use it to justify obviously felonious behavior. Stupid is as stupid does.

It is precisely their place to come and do what they're doing. And their action was dictated by proper legal proceedings. If you are aware of some mistake in the legal actions that led to this by all means show us the court rulings and where the mistake is. But no one is going to hold their breath since its well documented that you don't what you're talking about, you make up stuff, you can't read and you're very stupid.

Nothing in that article proves your point except that two politicians, people you have made very clear don't care about the people and are corrupt, are siding with the rancher. They don't deny that the rancher has violated any laws, they merely think its being handled poorly.

Quote:

The trouble started when Bundy stopped paying grazing fees in 1993. He said he didn't have to because his Mormon ancestors worked the land since the 1880s, giving him rights to the land.

“We own this land,” he said, not the feds. He said he is willing to pay grazing fees but only to Clark County, not BLM.
If he has a legal claim to the land then he would settle it in court. While you take his word for it, the fact that he thinks he owns the land because his ancestors had their cattle graze I think shows a profound misunderstanding of law. Under his logic, you would probably have to agree that the Indians own all land now.

More interesting, he admits that he is willing to pay grazing fees to Clark County. If he truly thought the land was his why would he pay grazing fees to anyone? Make up something stupid here so we can all chuckle.

Quote:

“Years ago, I used to have 52 neighboring ranchers,” he said. “I’m the last man standing. How come? Because BLM regulated these people off the land and out of business.”
I'm sure this is an accurate summation of what happened to all the other businesses. Furthermore, it wouldn't matter at all in justifying the legality of him using Federal lands for his private business without paying the necessary fees.

Oh please don't start this with Silverman. I don't agree that he is of average libertarian intelligence. I have seen many libertarian debates on this forum and he is well below average. To start a discussion like this with silverman will lead to posts by him that will no doubt cause hurt to anyone who reads it. You're going down a bad road.

1. The feds represent "the people" in this case. we own the land through them, our representatives.

2. Pretty sure federal agents >local hick sheriff, particularly when it comes to federal law.

3. Yeah, because local government is never corrupt or tyrannical.

Agreed. Brady and Belichik are complete idiots.

Hey, guys, conservatives don't hate Mexicans, they just get really furiously angry at how illegal immigrants are BREAKING THE LAW.

Hey, guys, conservatives don't hate gays, they just get furiously angry at how Eric Holder refused to defend DOMA in court because THE LAW IS THE LAW.

Hey, guys, some bumble**** ****** wants to trespass on federal land with his cattle for free. Guess how that conservative adherence to the RULE OF LAW turns out?
04-11-2014 , 02:16 PM
Though again, something that's extra hilarious is that for some reason Silver_Man thinks the federal government of 2014 is like venally corrupt and obviously up to no good, but he worships "the constitution" because the federal government of 1792 was like, totally great.

The law is sacred unless a white business owner is violating it.
