Standoff in Nevada, Is a "Range War" on the horizon? Standoff in Nevada, Is a "Range War" on the horizon?

Quote:
A Nevada rancher appears to have backed down after threatening to open up a “range war” with the federal government if they rounded up the cattle he had illegally grazing on public lands. Authorities responded to the rancher’s threat with a show of force – an estimated 200 federal agents who descended on the scene – and rounded up the cattle. However, a large contingent of about a hundred antigovernment “Patriots” is now gathering near the site of the roundup as a form of protest and making their presence known.

On Wednesday, the confrontation escalated into a brief dustup between federal law enforcement officers and the protesters, including the son of the rancher at the center of dispute, Cliven Bundy. During the ruckus, caught on video, Bundy’s adult son, Ammon Bundy, was shot with a stun gun that bloodied his shoulder. Eventually the officers retreated, amid much celebration by the protesters.

Oh, I forgot a snarky comment......

Wasn't nice of Big Government to give the true patriots a little victory? When you think they are coming back with tanks?

I feel certain I know people who are patriotic. But I don't know anyone who identifies themselves regularly as a "Patriot". And anytime I see a story where someone is vehemently declaring themselves a patriot, they're almost always an idiot.

I don't know when it happened but somehow the people who self identify as patriots have really made it a dirty word.

It's the darndest thing when used in the political extreme. It creates that unfair dilemna where you are saying somebody else is not a patriot based on a point of contention or opinion.

What gives these *******s the right to utilize public resources? I can't just go into a national forest and start felling trees, regardless of whether my ancestors owned the land (ask the Indians how much weight that fact carries).
Mark Twain once said that in the future to call someone a patriot would be a vicious insult. Were not quite there yet.

Shocking.....Kurto is on the side of the corrupt federal government and not on the side of a simple cattle rancher who is actually producing something...

Call in the snipers lieutenant...this man's cattle are grazing!

Kurto is the type of person who sleeps better at night after the feds raid and shut down a raw milk farmer...

Feds did it to the Indians.....now they are doing it to cattle ranchers...

You must have missed it - please don't ever presume to understand what I think, how I sleep, what I mean by something I write... you've already repeatedly demonstrated that you are too stupid to presume to understand anything about anyone here. There is not a single post you have ever made that has not further promoted the view that you are worse then a simpleton.

Only speak for yourself. Anytime you try to analyze how another person thinks, or even try to restate what they wrote, you mess it up.

Just for fun - here's something you just made up trying to be witty-

Not at all surprising, your comment is the exact opposite of what I feel. But, knowing that you're as stupid as you are, the safest bet is that when you try to 'think', you'll inevitably mess it up.

You would do so much better on this forum if you never lost sight of how stupid you are and stopped trying to think you understand what anyone else is saying or extrapolate what they think. Because you will always be wrong and always highlight how stupid you are.

Shocked people who break the law blame the law. Not as shocked as the guy who got tazed. ZING!

I am the kind of person who sleeps better at night knowing our food supply is safer than it waa before the FDA.
04-10-2014 , 04:22 PM
Well... you didn't say anything negative about the feds surrounding his place and taking his cattle...

Just the guys saying they were patriots...

A bit odd IMO...

Nobody is forcing you to buy and drink raw milk dude...

The people who were buying it were happy buying it, and had been doing so for a long ass time...

But yeah...shut those ****ers down...bring in the swat team...

The raw milk revolution is at hand!

It's kind of simple. Food and public land regulation is responsible.....

Now the rest is "conjecture".... if mistakes are made in the process you can just purchase your way out of it. It's really the ranchers and farmers fault for not having enough free speech bux and they should take responsbility for that.

I don't know much about raw milk, nor do I care. If it can't be produced to the standards of safety the FDA requires tough ****. Why are we even talking about raw milk in here? Go back to your limit game.

such comprehensive ownage.

200 years ago those "patriots" would have had the balls to pull a trigger by now. further evidence of the pussification of America. thanks a lot Obama.

Another fine example why I point out that you're too stupid to take part in adult conversations. Every time you read something and it goes through the silverman brainpan it comes out wrong.

You just wrote:

Of course I didn't say anything about this because it didn't happen. You can't read a simply story without getting all the facts mixed up. Understand that this is a clear sign that you are very dumb.

This is literally THE FIRST PARAGRAPH in the story. See how quickly you read something and get it wrong.
Quote:

Real life - the cows are illegally grazing on public lands. Its not HIS PLACE. The whole point is that its not his land.

But when Silverman reads it in his mind the feds are swarming his place and taking his cattle. if the cattle were on his place there would be no issue and no story.

Can you explain why you couldn't even understand the facts laid out in the first paragraph? I am puzzled how you can be this incompetent but maybe you have an explanation?

And it is not the feds place to come in an do what they are doing

It isn't their land...

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014...-cliven-bundy/

The trouble started when Bundy stopped paying grazing fees in 1993. He said he didn't have to because his Mormon ancestors worked the land since the 1880s, giving him rights to the land.

“We own this land,” he said, not the feds. He said he is willing to pay grazing fees but only to Clark County, not BLM.

“Years ago, I used to have 52 neighboring ranchers,” he said. “I’m the last man standing. How come? Because BLM regulated these people off the land and out of business.”

in b4 lol faux news...

They are just quotes...
04-10-2014 , 05:59 PM
lol, oh he decided he didn't need to recognize Federal law so it doesn't apply to him. Why didn't you just say so?

SM is at least of average intelligence among libertarians. that should tell you everything you need to know about libertarians.

SM you must love steelhouse?

"“We own this land,” he said, not the feds. He said he is willing to pay grazing fees but only to Clark County, not BLM."

aka

"We own this land! I'll pay the county to use it, but I own it!"

Seems legit.
04-10-2014 , 06:47 PM
But he doesn't own the land...the government does. What part of that don't you get?

And yes, he's your average libertarian.

Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel. True then, true now.
04-10-2014 , 11:36 PM
Oh wow...

Just read that that this thing came to a boiling point after the eco-freaks told federal land managers that they were planning on filing suit to protect some stupid desert tortoise because their habitat was being destroyed by grazing cattle.

LOL...a desert tortoise....

.

I don't know where intelligence comes into play at all...

Libertarians just want to be left the **** alone...

What does someone's intelligence have to do with wanting THAT?
