This very much depends on what "linked to terrorism" means as well as "forcing us to change our ways." Of course liberals believe in judging individuals on their own merits and not based on their race or religion (we sometimes fail at this ldo).

Is it true that, for instance, Syrian refugees are "linked to terrorism"? On a very superficial level, yes. But if you believe in judging individuals you can vet those refugees and weed out people with actual terrorist connections and proclivities.

And if people have a problem with that? Maybe it's just fearsome of the time, but a lot of time it's racial or religious prejudice. I don't know what else to say. If someone argues that zero Syrian refugees can be vetted, that they can never be trusted then what else is there to say? It's an absurd argument.
