It's a very different situation. Legacy spots are a privelge extended to a group of people due to family history. Like donations to a school, it can influence admissions. It is not race based, but timing based.

Your argument, like most, is flimsy.

i know the jim crow laws were created by the democratic party.

i also know that jim crow laws are an actual example of real systemic racism that used to exist, unlike the fantasy systemic racism of today.

I understand the premise, but let's be honest about it. When people say "holistic approach" they are signalling one thing.

Again, this particular topic doesn't kill me, it just annoys me. My kid actually DOES need a higher SAT score than yours. That's ****ed up. I'll live, but it's still ****ed up.

I had a huge fight recently among the left on this site and not once did I call, or get called, racist. Know why? Because we are not racist and don't post racist crap.

I'm grunching but I caught a glimpse of some asinine wil post, so here's a true story:

I'd have to go back to the thread for specifics but when I was a King Lebron hater, not nearly as severe as some but still enough that I had to go to haterade rehab, I'm pretty sure Victor and I had some harsh words with each other in SE debating the topic about who is underrated and who is overrated and other things basketball-related.

Yet, somehow, in the midst of that passionate disagreement, we didn't end up calling each other racist.
