We're now into conspiracy territory where for some reason clinicians are happy to suspend all their ethics to make medical decisions against the consensus on a wide scale (with all the potential legal ramifications this can carry). Which might make some sense for the odd doctor, and especially in privatised systems, but we have to explain why this is also the treatment offered in nationalised healthcare systems like the UK's NHS and across other European countries.
