since gender talk is hot right now i had some gender questions:

the new mainstream leftist view on gender is that it's entirely a societal construct. they claim that male and female brains are the same and that if society stops pushing gender roles on people then men and women would have an equal representation in every level of society.

the leftist position on transgender people is that a trans gender man is a person who was born with a male brain and a female body. this person is an actual man because they believe they are one despite their female body and chromosomes. this implies that men and women have different brains and different predispositions at birth, determined by their biology.

i understand how people can have competing and even contradictory ideas but the contradiction is usually not so obvious as it is here. are there any SJWs who can defend the leftist talking out of both sides of their mouth on this subject?

Sorry, I meant anyone here.

The problem when we talk about gender is there's long been a pervasive view about two very distinct genders that is just far too simplistic (and significantly self-fulfilling)

i'm glad they aren't your views. unfortunately they are mainstream.

what ends up happening is that people support and promote other people and politicians who do hold these views, or at least won't disavow them. they end up supporting them by accident without even knowing what they are doing.

Not even the Navy appears to to have a need to tell people what their gender is anymore.

The authoritarian right is on the current political landscape as the 'gender-mongering' party it does appear.

Otherwise, people seem to get along just fine with genders.

the reason there is a pervasive view about two very distinct genders is because there are two distinct genders. men (people with XY chromosomes) and women (people with XX chromosomes).
