A racism thread A racism thread

for all your racial needs. What makes something racist? Who is racist? Who or what gets called racist, but isn't?

I'm glad this thread came up, cause I've got a question. I have black friends, and have nothing against black people. technically, I'm part black, in so far as Puerto Ricans have a mixture of black from back in the day.

Now my question is, is my junk racist? Cause I have never found a black woman attractive in a sexual manner. Sure, some black women can be pretty, but I have never found one who I can look at and be "Yeah, I wanna hit that"
07-05-2013 , 07:46 AM
We all have "a mixture of black from back in the day". Every human on the planet.
07-05-2013 , 07:48 AM
I bet you probably just haven't looked at enough black girls with an open mind.
07-05-2013 , 07:48 AM
Let's see if the fly pulls his racist schtick on a lefty

Oh no, Ive looked with an open mind. Even when I was 15 and everyone ****ing did it for me, Tyra didn't.
07-05-2013 , 07:54 AM
There are way hotter black chicks than Tyra Banks.
07-05-2013 , 08:02 AM
Name a few, Ill tell you if A) I have heard of them and B) if they have ever done anything for me. Try to put relevance back at about 15 years ago, cause thats when I was at my most "want to do anything on two legs" time

If she's who I'm thinking of, I always thought she looked kind of mannish.

But Halle Berry? Lisa Bonet?

What about Esperanza Spalding?

If you don't feel any stirrings there, I'd be more worried about your junk being gay than racist.

No, white women, asians, hispanics, etc, they do it just fine, but nothing from the picture above or any I found of her through google

And really, nothing on Halle Berry or Lisa Bonet? Right in your wheelhouse, timeline-wise, I'd have thought.

Mel B lived to embody the 'Scary' moniker, but when the Spice Girls first came out she was easily the hottest, not even close. Tough to find good pics though.

Right, I think the spice girls are the perfect example for what I mean, my ranking went Ginger, Posh, baby, sporty, scary... so there ya go.

And nope, not even Halle Berry, and you're right she fits the timeline perfectly. Never done a thing for me.

Even back when I watched porn, not a one could do it for me.

Well that is just straight-up odd, is what that is.

ETA I remember being about 13 or so when the Flintstones movie came out and I would watch the video charts solely for the B-52s song and the scant few seconds Halle Berry was in it. No idea who she was at the time obviously but yeah, glued to that ****.

I think there's a difference from being able to objectively tell if someone is attractive and then wanting to bone them.

I find lots of people attractive, but they never give me the down low tickle.

Don't remember how old I was when it was on, but Ashley and Hillary from Fresh Prince

Sometimes it might just take a spark. I never found asian women attractive when I was younger. Then a Korean girl grinded on me and i had a fit of Asian fever. I never wanted to eat sushi growing up. Then I tried it and eat it all the time now. Sometimes you just have to jump in to realize what ur missing.

Not being sexually attracted to a race is not racism. I don't think Aborigine women look good per say (cue pic of hot aborigine woman). But I would fight for their equal rights and respect them.

The talk of attractiveness reminds me of the implicit association test. The object is to quickly match up faces and/or symbols and words, with the theory that your subconscious biases may influence your results. Go take the "Race" test now before reading on.

Spoiler:

The result that most people (including blacks) find they have automatic preferences for whites over blacks.

Now, I've taken the race test and got an automatic preference for whites over blacks. But intriguingly, on the skin colour test I had no preference for light or dark skin. This made me wonder whether it could be whether the test is measuring more of an automatic preference for attractiveness than race per se. It might even be the case that I don't even find black people less attractive than white people overall, but the specific blacks used in that test were less attractive than the specific whites.

Or maybe I'm just rationalising my deep-seated bigotry.

That's a pretty good theory, although I got no preference when I took it.

lol at her hair. Maybe if she had a different haircut.

Spoiler:
It's also worth noting that the test offers the link to African American and good and European and bad first, and I think people are more likely to answer the latter questions quicker simply due to being more comfortable with the test.

I'm not typically attracted to women of color (ignoring Asians)

When you're down to something as id-driven as who you find attractive, being more attracted to people that more like look like do than others you isn't a weird thing to me. We all have weird thoughts and impulses, and to me where that crosses into racism is when those manifest in your actions and words.

I'm not sure liking a black lady with ostensibly white facial features if she cut off her afro really counts.
