In poker, old school guys talked about "getting broke" instead of "going broke." Going broke implies a failure on their part, getting broke is more gentle and accuses luck and circumstance as the culprit.

Who cares really? It's the oldest profession and tbh the people that try and make it into a shameful occupation are the right wing Christian conservatives who are more likely to use these services in the first place.
